Chapter 12: The Deceiver's Secret

Chapter 12: The Deceiver's Secret.

Reggie's mind raced as he tried to process the sudden revelation. Was Henry Smith, the man they had been working with for weeks, a fraud?

As they left the meeting, Lucy met Reggie with a confused expression on her face. "What does this mean?" she asked.

Reggie shook his head. "I don't know," he said. "But I think we should find out who the real Henry Smith is and why this impostor is calling him."

Lucy agreed. "But what about the voicemail?" she asked. "Is this still part of the case?"

Reggie's eyes widened. "I think it's more important than ever," he said. "We need to find out what the traitor really got."

When they returned to the office, Reggie's phone rang. He answered, listening intently to the voice on the other end.

"What was that?" Lucy asked, seeing the excitement on Reggie's face.

Reggie's eyes widened. "Detective James," he said. "He's got something important to say."

Lucy's eyes widened. "What's that?" she asked.

Reggie laughed. "He's found a document that shows a real fraud," he said. "But it's not what we expected."

When they arrived at the police station, Inspector James greeted them. "I have something to show you," he said, leading them into a small room behind the dock.

Inside the room, Reggie and Lucy found a small table with a book on it. Reggie's eyes looked at each other, his eyes wide in surprise.

"What's that?" Lucy asked, seeing the shocked look on Reggie's face.

Reggie's voice was above a whisper. "It's a birth certificate," he said. "And if the traitor is... Henry Smith's twin brother."

Lucy's eyes widened in horror. "A couple's lunch?" she repeated.

Reggie nodded. "Yes," he said. "The fraudster's name is Harrison Smith, and he claims to be his brother for a long time."

As they left the police station, Reggie couldn't contain his excitement. Finally, the question began to settle, and the truth came closer.

But as they left the station, Reggie saw something strange. A figure was following them, hiding in the shadows.

Reggie's eyes widened. Who is this mysterious person, and what do they want?

When they returned to the office, Reggie's phone rang again. He answered, listening intently to the voice on the other end.

"What's that?" Lucy asked, seeing the look of concern on Reggie's face.

Reggie's eyes were very serious. "It's Harrison Smith," she said. "He wants to meet us again."

Lucy's eyes widened. "What does he want?" she asked.

Reggie was serious. "I don't know," she said. "But I think we're about to find out."

When they arrived at the meeting place, Reggie didn't panic. What did Harrison Smith have planned for them?

As they sat down, Harrison laughed. "I think it's time for me to tell you the truth," he said. "About everything."

Reggie's eyes widened. "What do you think?" he asked.

Harrison was very serious. "I mean, I've been saying I'm the big brother for years," he said. "But it's not that I want to steal his identity, it's that I want to protect him."

Reggie's eyes widened in shock. "Protect him from what?" he asked.

Harrison's eyes fell. "From the darkest time in our family," he said. "From a secret that will forever tarnish our family name."

As Reggie and Lucy left the meeting place, they were shocked and surprised. Then the case changed, leaving more questions than answers. But one thing is certain: they were close to the truth. And they decided to reveal it, no matter what the reason.
