Entering the Abyss

(Samuel's POV – The Descent Into Darkness)

The moment we stepped forward, the factory's massive steel doors groaned open, revealing the horror that awaited inside.

The air changed.

It was heavier. Thicker.

A stench of blood, chemicals, and decay clung to every inch of the facility.

The halls were unnaturally silent, except for the distant hum of machinery and the occasional dripping of some unknown liquid.

Henry glanced around, his sword still resting on his shoulder. "Yep. This place is all kinds of fucked up."

I smirked. "You expected anything else?"

THUD… THUD… THUD…

A slow, rhythmic pulsing echoed through the factory, almost like a heartbeat.

Henry's eyes narrowed. "You hear that?"

I nodded. "Yeah. This place is alive."

---

The Corridor of Experiments

As we moved deeper inside, the walls became more grotesque.

Wires and tubes filled with black liquid snaked through the ceiling.

Glass chambers lined the hallway, each containing… things.

Some were partially human, their bodies half-mutated, their eyes blank and lifeless.

Others were grotesque abominations, their forms twisted into monstrous shapes, screaming silently in their containment.

Henry stopped in front of one of the chambers, his jaw tightening. "They were still alive when they were changed."

I clenched my fists. "No. They're still alive."

Henry turned his head toward me, eyes narrowing. "You serious?"

I nodded. "Look closely. Their bodies aren't rotting. The cells are still regenerating, still mutating."

Henry cursed under his breath. "That means whoever's running this show—"

"—still has full control." I finished.

A voice suddenly echoed through the corridor.

A deep, distorted voice.

"You are not welcome here."

---

The Voice of Project Hades

Henry and I stopped, exchanging a glance.

The voice seemed to come from everywhere, vibrating through the walls.

"Two beings. Not human. Not demon. Something else. I have been expecting you."

I grinned. "Oh? You know us?"

"Of course. You are anomalies. You do not belong here."

Henry chuckled, tilting his head. "Yeah, we get that a lot."

"And yet you have come, seeking destruction. Seeking truth. You will find both."

The lights flickered.

The glass chambers shattered.

A chorus of inhuman screams filled the corridor.

Henry sighed, spinning his sword. "Well, there goes the quiet entrance."

I cracked my knuckles. "Good. I was getting bored anyway."

The Nightcreatures lunged—

And the real fight began.

The First Wave of Nightcreatures

The moment the glass chambers shattered, the factory was filled with deafening, inhuman screams.

Dark figures lurched forward, their bodies twitching and convulsing as if they were fighting against their own existence.

The Nightcreatures were awake.

Some had elongated limbs, their fingers stretching into razor-sharp claws.

Others had multiple heads, their mouths filled with rows of jagged teeth.

Their eyes glowed red, void of humanity—filled only with the madness of their transformation.

Henry exhaled, shaking his head. "They never stop experimenting, do they?"

I smirked, cracking my knuckles. "Doesn't matter. They die all the same."

The creatures charged.

---

The Slaughter Begins

The first Nightcreature lunged at me, its serrated claws aiming straight for my throat.

I twisted my body, dodging effortlessly, then—

"GAUNTLETS OF ABYSS!"

I punched straight through its chest, black blood splattering across the metal walls.

Before the corpse could even hit the ground, another creature pounced from my right.

"VOID STEP."

I vanished, appearing behind it—

"BREATH OF DESTRUCTION!"

A wave of hellfire erupted from my mouth, engulfing it completely.

Its screams were brief.

Then, silence.

---

Meanwhile, Henry was in his element.

His golden blade flashed, cutting through three creatures in one strike.

One tried to blindside him—

He blinked behind it, appearing in its blind spot.

"JUDGMENT'S WRATH!"

A single downward slash, and the creature was erased in golden flames.

Another Nightcreature, twice the size of the others, roared as it swung its massive arms at him.

Henry caught its wrists with one hand.

The creature froze.

Henry smirked. "Too slow."

With a single movement, he tore its arms off.

The monster shrieked in agony—

Before Henry stabbed his sword through its skull.

One clean strike. Instant kill.

---

The System Alert – A Second Wave Approaches

As the last of the creatures fell, I exhaled. "That all they got?"

Henry wiped the blood off his blade. "You know better than that."

As if responding to his words, the factory rumbled.

A deep, mechanical growl echoed through the walls.

Then—

A system alert flashed in our vision.

---

[SYSTEM ALERT: PHASE TWO – TITAN CLASS NIGHTCREATURES DEPLOYED]

WARNING: SUPERIOR EXPERIMENTAL SUBJECTS APPROACHING

OBJECTIVE: SURVIVE.

---

Henry chuckled, rolling his shoulders. "Now this might be fun."

I smirked, feeling the excitement build. "Then let's get started."

The next wave was coming—

And we were ready.
