Chapter 27: The Pink Angel

Lo Xian sat in his high-end hospital room, his gaze cold and unyielding as a woman in a nurse's uniform entered, carrying a tray of medical supplies.

His eyes narrowed slightly. "Don't you know you're supposed to knock before entering someone's room?" he said in a chilling tone.

Given Lo Xian's status, his room was located in a special high-security ward, complete with all the amenities one could imagine. It was practically like living at home, with every need catered to. He had no worries about privacy when it came to his small wife, Su Jin. Even if she found an excuse to be shy, like claiming the water wasn't hot enough, he simply smiled and watched her make excuses.

Because of the exclusivity of the ward, all medical procedures and examinations were carried out by specific doctors and nurses at set times. For the most part, no one was allowed to enter uninvited, respecting both patient privacy and the need for a peaceful environment. This was why Lo Xian had been so carefree in his intimacy with Su Jin, knowing no one would barge in.

The nurse, who had been wearing a pleasant smile, now froze, her smile becoming stiff. She stepped back and closed the door behind her before knocking again.

No answer.

She knocked again, and still no reply.

Lo Xian frowned. He didn't recognize this nurse, and the persistent knocking was both strange and irritating.

"Come in." He opened the door to let her in, not out of any desire for her company, but because he intended to tell her in person to "get lost."

The nurse entered, her eyes brightening with hope. She thought Lo Xian had softened.

"Sir, I'm here to change your dressing," she said, walking toward the bed without hesitation.

As she bent down to perform her task, the buttons of her loose, white nurse uniform strained, about to pop open.

Lo Xian remained calm, his expression unreadable. His eyes didn't give away any thoughts, making it impossible for the nurse to gauge his reaction.

Inside, however, she was beginning to panic.

If he was satisfied, she could proceed to the next step—slipping him her "business card," which contained her contact details. If he called, she'd be ready to attend to him anytime.

She had been eyeing this man for several days.

She had already heard whispers that the best room in the entire hospital was occupied by a male patient. That's when her interest had piqued.

Though she was a nurse, she also had a "side job" here—she wasn't alone in this, either. There were others like her, all playing the role of either "angels in white" or "pink angels."

They would gather information about the patients—medical history, financial background, and anything else they could get their hands on. Then, they'd sift through the options, targeting those who were financially capable and "clean," without any disease that might pose a risk to their health.

Once the target was chosen, the first step was to test the waters—using their bodies and charm to see how the patient reacted. They'd start by offering sweet services like dressing changes, massages, and small kindnesses. If the patient showed interest, they'd "accidentally" slip them a card with their contact information. A simple phone call, and they'd be available to "serve" them later that night.

She'd been in this business for over a year and had honed her skills. Unlike others, she wasn't desperate—she was "discerning." In her words, she offered "high-end services"—few clients, but high-paying ones. She was picky and had the beauty and confidence to back it up.

Everyone else might gossip about her in the background, but she didn't care. She had her own assets.

This time, she had set her sights on the man who had just been admitted to the hospital's most luxurious room. But there was a catch—information on him was sparse. The medical staff and doctors who interacted with him were all tight-lipped.

But after three days of waiting, she couldn't hold herself back anymore, and that's when she made her move.

"Sir, I'm here to change your dressing. Would you like to undress, or would you prefer I help you?" She bent down, her skin pale as snow, and flashed him a shy smile. The stark contrast between her innocent expression and provocative posture was guaranteed to stir any man's desire.

Her eyes lingered on Lo Xian, waiting for his approval, when suddenly, Su Jin entered the room.

The moment Lo Xian saw Su Jin, his face lit up with a sly smile, his eyes glinting with delight. His little lamb had arrived, and he was eager to indulge in some fun with her.

But the look on his face, which could have been interpreted as lustful, was misunderstood by the nurse.

She had never seen Lo Xian's usually cold face soften with such a smile before. Was he interested in her?

The nurse stood frozen for a moment, as Su Jin, unaware of the interaction, glanced at the tray of medications.

"Are you here to deliver medicine? We already received some this morning," Su Jin asked politely.

The nurse, still trying to maintain her composure, flashed a small smile. "This is a new medication. It's more effective, so I brought some extra for the patient."

Su Jin nodded, accepting the explanation. "Thank you."

The nurse, still jittery from the earlier moment, replied, "It's my duty to serve. Your health is our top priority." She then turned to Lo Xian and, out of Su Jin's sight, subtly winked at him, her eyes full of unspoken promises. "I'll change the dressing for you now. It might ease some of the discomfort."

Su Jin, aware that Lo Xian wasn't fond of being touched by others, intervened quickly. "Thank you, but I'll handle it from here."

The nurse's forced smile faded as she exited, leaving the room with a sense of defeat. The opportunity had slipped through her fingers, and it was all because of the woman who had appeared at the wrong moment.

Once outside, the nurse pressed her back against the door and let out a frustrated breath. She had failed to make her move, and now she could only stew in anger. But she was determined to try again.

That smile Lo Xian had given her—it was a sign. She was sure of it. He was interested. If only Su Jin hadn't shown up, she could have slipped him her card and taken the next step. But now, the chance was gone… for now.

She cleaned the area near her chest where the card would've been tucked away, just waiting for the phone to ring. She wouldn't give up that easily. The man was too perfect, and she was certain he would remember her number. Men like him always did.

As she walked away, her mind raced with plans for the future, and she knew she would find another way to reel him in.

Su Jin, having dismissed the nurse, turned to Lo Xian. "Do we need to change the dressing now?"

Lo Xian shook his head, a smirk playing at the corners of his lips. "No need to worry about her," he said. "Let's focus on what's more important."

His gaze turned suggestive, and he leaned in closer, his voice husky. "Since you already helped me reject her, why don't you come closer and take care of me yourself?"

His eyes sparkled with mischief, clearly eager to continue their private game. Su Jin, flustered, could only blush as she tried to maintain some semblance of composure.

But Lo Xian wasn't in the mood to let her off the hook. With a smirk, he reached out, beckoning her closer. "Come on, baby, it's your turn now."
