Chapter 144: ZAGE New Year Meetings 2

As the meeting continued, Zaboru turned on the projector, displaying detailed statistics of ZAGE's performance in 1991. He gestured toward the screen and began his presentation.

"So, as you all know, ZAGE was officially established in August 1991, but we only launched our business operations on September 19, 1991. Now, let's take a look at the numbers."

The attendees sat up straighter, focusing on the data being presented. The screen displayed several key metrics, illustrating ZAGE's impressive growth.

"From September 19 until now, we have sold approximately 300,000 ZEPS consoles. Furthermore, our game cartridges have sold a total of 2.5 million copies across our 15 released titles. This means that, on average, every console owner has purchased more than one game. This is a very positive indicator of our software sales performance!"

The room erupted in applause, with a few impressed murmurs exchanged among the executives. Zaboru nodded, acknowledging their enthusiasm before continuing.

"Our sales skyrocketed after ZAGE successfully acquired Sora Distribution Company, which has proven to be incredibly capable in handling logistics distribute our products across Japan Retail stores. Additionally, after acquiring Mirai Manufacturing recently, our production efficiency has increased dramatically. These strategic moves have exceeded my expectations and set us up for continued success. I want to extend my gratitude to all of you for your dedication. Our financials are in excellent shape and remain in the positive, but I'll leave the more specific details to Sayuri-san."

Sayuri smiled as the rest of the team chuckled and clapped.

"Now that we've reviewed the past, let's discuss the future."

A new slide appeared on the screen, outlining ZAGE's plans for the coming months.

"First, let's talk about February's game releases. Since the January titles are already in development, we can move forward. In February, I plan for ZAGE to release four new game titles. Why increase the number? Well, our console has already established a solid fan base. Gamers have started developing their preferences, with some craving more platformers, others wanting more racing games, and so on. We need to expand our game library significantly before third-party developers fully catch up and expands ZAGE games library."

Zaboru paused for dramatic effect before revealing the upcoming game titles.

"Here are the four games set for release in February:

Dragon QuestAlex Kidd in Miracle WorldR.C. Pro-AmDonkey Kong Jr.

We'll go over the specifics of each title later."

Excited whispers filled the room. These are interesting titles, but their boss games are sure to drive even more sales.

"Next, I want to introduce something revolutionary for ZAGE: handheld gaming. I am planning to launch a portable gaming device on ZEPS' first anniversary—September 19, 1992. More details will be provided in due time, but for now, keep this in mind as a major upcoming project."

The room buzzed with excitement, but everyone refrained from asking too many questions just yet, knowing Zaboru would get to them later.

"Another big move we are considering is the expansion into PC gaming. This will require a dedicated division, separate from our console operations, and will be crucial for another reason."

Zaboru grinned before dropping the biggest announcement of the day.

"ZAGE will officially be going global this year."

The room fell silent for a moment before Shinsuke broke into a laugh. "Wow, we're really expanding worldwide this year, Boss? That's an impressive goal!"

Zaboru nodded confidently. "Yes, we are. And to successfully enter international markets, we need a solid PC gaming presence. Unlike Japan, where PCs are not very popular, PCs are incredibly popular in markets like Europe and the USA. Having a strong PC lineup will help us gain a foothold in those regions."

He took a deep breath before continuing, his tone serious. "With these expansion plans in motion, we will need to work even harder. I also plan to relocate our headquarters to a bigger office in the near future. For now, I'm still searching for a suitable location, but I'll keep you all updated."

As soon as Zaboru finished speaking, the team members began raising their hands with questions.

Sayuri was the first. "With our planned international expansion, will we need a dedicated finance team to handle foreign currency and tax regulations?"

Zaboru nodded. "Good question. Yes, we will try hiring financial experts who specialize in international business. I'll discuss the details with you soon."

Shinsuke raised his hand next. "Will we be partnering with any local distributors overseas, or are we planning to handle everything ourselves?"

"As for this we still don`t have clear answers i will answer them in future. Shinsuke-san" Shinsuke nod with understanding

Kudou leaned forward. "From a legal standpoint, international expansion is complex. Are we hiring more legal staff to handle this?"

"Yes, we will be expanding the legal team to navigate foreign regulations, let me know if you had someone in mind." Zaboru confirmed.

Yuna spoke up next. "For the increased game development workload, will we be hiring more developers?"

"Absolutely," Zaboru replied. "We'll need more hands on deck to keep up with foreign demand."

Yugo looked hesitant before speaking. "BOSS-sama! , Since we're launching more games, do we have enough testers to maintain quality?"

Zaboru grinned. "You bring up a great point, Yugo. That's why we will be expanding the Quality Control team, and you will help oversee that process"

After a while, the flow of questions slowed down. Zaboru scanned the room one last time before asking, "Any more questions? If not, let's conclude the meeting."

When no further hands were raised, Zaboru smiled. "Alright, that wraps up our official meeting. Thanks, everyone. Look forward to the evening's event!"

With that, the meeting was officially adjourned.
