The driver was more self conscious this time and pushed Fu Ling all the way into the classroom. Fu Ling came quite early but unexpectedly someone was before him. He looked at Gu Lian who was looking at his notes in deep thought.

Fu Ling settled in and brought out his school work. He placed the things in the desk and stared off into space. He was lost in thought when he felt a sharp gaze fall on him. He recovered his senses and realized he had dazed off while staring straight at Gu Lian. He smiled a little embarrassedly.

"Gu Lian"

The other person didn't reply but paused his actions to show he was listening.

"Let's add contacts."

Gu Lian turned to look at him.

"I want to thank you for yesterday. I'll treat you once I'm out of my wheelchair"

"Not necessary"

Fu Ling didn't give up

"I feel like I really owe you and it's uncomfortable because we're not friends and I don't like to owe people so I would like to repay you."

Gu Lian hesitated for a second before walking over. He could smell the fresh scent on the young man. It should be his body wash or shampoo. Gu Lian felt like his heart rate increased again and he frowned uncomfortably. He had checked yesterday and he wasn't sick. He looked down at the young man. His hair looked very soft. Gu Lian wanted to touch it. So he did.

Fu Ling looked up in surprise and met Gu Lian's expressionless face.

"There was something in your hair"

"Oh. Okay" Fu Ling didn't have any doubts even though it felt more like rubbing than picking something out. He stretched out his phone and scanned the qr code.

Gu Lian passed the friend request and Fu Ling smiled in satisfaction.

"Anything else?"

Fu Ling shook his head.

"I'll contact you when my leg feels better."

Fu Ling had wanted to ask for his phone number as well but he felt like that would be pushing it a bit too much so he decided to wait.

A while later, students started coming in sporadic numbers and soon enough the class had filled up.

Wei Hong Yi dropped his bag and looked at Fu Ling. "Hi"

Fu Ling nodded his head slightly.

Wei Hong Yi shifted in his seat but couldn't help himself as he didn't have anyone else to talk about this with.

"She talked to me"

Fu Ling looked at him in confusion but Wei Hong Yi was too excited to notice this

"The goddess saw me today. And she remembered me."

Fu Ling had finally managed to put the pieces together. He seemed to be talking about Wen Ting? So it means they weren't in contact all this while or was he missing something?

Wei Hong Yi reacted and looked at Fu Ling who seemed to be lost in thought and remembered he is one of the goddesses suitors? He became nervous. Was Fu Ling going to get angry?

Fu Ling looked at his desk mate who was pinching the ends of his clothes and frowned.

"It's going to get wrinkled"

Wei Hong Yi looked up at Fu Ling and noticed where he was looking. He stopped holding on to his shirt and straightened it out lightly.

"Do you—you don't seem to like Wen Ting"

"It's all up to fate."

Wei Hong Yi didn't know what he meant by that but was afraid of upsetting him so he didn't ask any more questions.

Gu Lian who had been eves dropping turned back to his work. He didn't believe in fate. He looked at the young man who didn't seem to care what happened with that girl anymore and sighed.

The teacher came in and regardless of whatever thoughts they had, most people pretended to listen.

Fu Ling was having a good day until someone arrogantly knocked on his desk. He raised his head and looked at the boy in front of him. Piercings on both ears and his mouth. His hair was dyed dirty blonde which did nothing to help his rather unconventional features. It did make him stand out though. No, more like stick out. Like a sore thumb. Fu Ling was having a hard time believing this was an aristocratic school anymore because why did the students act and make their selves look like gangsters? And why did the school allow it? Fu Ling didn't have much experience with this but he felt schools should be a lot more strict. Or did it have something to do with the world setting?

Yu Jiahao looked at Fu Ling who seemed to be in a daze and felt uncomfortable in his chest. Did this mean Fu Ling wasn't putting him in his eyes at all? It seems like he had grown more courageous. He took a deep look at Fu Ling. He had to admit that even though he was stupid, Fu Ling could be smart when it mattered. That was a full proof plan, he wasn't sure even he would have been able to survive if he had been on the receiving end but this idiot Fu Ling actually managed to only break an ankle.

Fu Ling felt like he had given yellow haired kid enough time to talk and so he planned to drive the person away when he finally spoke.

"You're lucky. I heard it could have ended up worse."

Fu Ling looked up.

"Yeah. I might have died. But my ability to be alive doesn't have anything to do with luck."

Yu Jiahao turned around and left with hasty steps without saying anything else and Fu Ling sighed.

Luo Xing Jie had always thought it was the accident that killed Fu Ling or that he was too badly injured to be saved but the truth was that Fu Ling died of depression. After making it out and living all those days with one to care about him except the servants that were paid to, he finally gave up on life and that was where Fu Ling came in. The only thing the original owner has wanted was for someone to truly love him. And for all those people who take human life as a joke, Fu Ling wont spare them.

"System?"

"Yes, Fu Ling"

"Help me collect evidence of all the transactions between Luo Xing Jie and Yu Jiahao. And also find evidence of any wrong doings in the Luo and Yu family."

If they were innocent, naturally nothing would be found. But for the family who could cultivate these two vices, Fu Ling didn't hold out much hope.
