The taxi stopped at an old community and couldn't go further so Fu Ling paid the fare and disembarked.

He meandered his way around the crisscrossing roads and got to an old community. They were several flats in the community which were all personally owned.

The biological parents were not rich but they were hard workers and knew how to plan their lives.

Fu Ling knocked on the door of a house and he waited for almost a full minute before the door opened a crack.

He saw the hope and expectation disappear from the woman's eyes when she took in his figure.

"Hello can I help you?"

Fu Ling showed his nicest smile

"I'm your son"

The woman looked at him incredulously and a voice came from inside the house

"Is it Haoming? Is Haoming back?"

The woman blinked and had trouble speaking so Fu Ling raised his voice

"No, I'm Fu Ling."

The man got to the door and gave Fu Ling a one over then put his arms around the woman

"Yes, what can we do for you?"

"Like I just said to the lady, I'm your son."

The man scoffed.

"We don't have anything for you to scam. We're just retired poor members of the working class who have to struggle to make ends meet."

Fu Ling was helpless

"I'm not lying to you. Fu Haoming has already recognized his parents."

The woman raised her head sharply

"What did you say?"

The man took a deep look at me and then opened the door wider.

"Come in"

The living room was about ten square meters. Everything was arranged in an orderly form. There were cushions on the chair and the whole room had a homey state.

Fu Ling sat on the couch and the couple sat opposite him. The woman clutched onto her man's arms and had a dazed look on her face.

The man had a frown on his face but would tap her hand from time to time.

"Explain clearly what you mean."

So Fu Ling started explaining expressionlessly

"When I went home the other day, I saw someone in my chair. I asked who it was and my dad said it was his son. I berated his for openly accepting an illegitimate son without caring about my face or my mom's but they then clarified that he wasn't an illegitimate child.

He was their biological son who was carried wrongly years ago. They already had their son, I didn't see any use in staying there anymore. I moved my household registration and then came here.

But you guys don't have to accept me. I'm already twenty two. I don't need you to take care of me. I just wanted to see the people whose genetics contributed to my being."

The woman burst into soft sobs and left the living room. The man sighed.

"You are welcome to stay here for as long as you want to. But, it'll be best if you can ask your —parents, to come over with Haoming to clear everything up. They are three bedrooms. Two are taken, you can use the last one."

He stood up and went after his wife and I sighed at how lucky that little bastard is.

"You already have such a loving family what else do you want"

That aside, my disgust for that did rose two points. So he went and accepted his biological family but didn't bother to let these people who raised him know? And they must have been very worried about him.

Imagine not knowing his whereabouts, worrying something happened to him and then one day they see him on the news as the son of the wealthy Fu family. They would be heartbroken.

Fu Ling wanted to cut off all ties with those people but this honest couple needed closure. And fast. I'd be best if they no longer have any expectations from Fu Haoming as that will only cause them distress.

Fu Ling decided to make a trip to the Fu family house but he didn't want to leave without saying anything and he didn't think they were close enough for him to knock on their room door so he looked around and found a stack of post- it notes and wrote down a few words saying he was going to inform the Fu family and would be back later.

He stuck it on a conspicuous place and left.

He took a taxi to the villa area but was stopped at the gate because his authority had been deleted. He sighed that Fu Haoming sure was fast in his actions.

The guard knew him and had also heard s bit about what was going on this period. He shook his head secretly that life was unpredictable.

Fu Ling didn't try to force his way in he just asked the guard to ring the main house. The butler picked up the call and Fu Ling stated his purpose

" Let Mr and Mrs Fu know that a person of the name Fu Ling would like to talk to them"

In the Fu family villa, the butler was stunned when he heard the young master's voice. Even more shocking were the polite words filled with alienation. He didn't delay at all and immediately relayed the message to the two bosses.

Feng Boqi and Fu Shilei took the phone. Feng Boqi asked anxiously

"Fu Ling are you okay? Why aren't you coming in? Are you living well outside?"

Fu Ling rolled his eyes.

"I'm fine. You guys deleted the authority so it's natural I can't get in. I'm living quite nicely outside"

Feng Boqi felt like there was a boulder pressing on her chest

"I'll have someone immediately add it back. I didn't know when they did that."

Fu Shilei looked at his wife with a frown.

Fu Ling immediately refused

"No that's not necessary. There's no relationship between me and the Fu family anymore, you don't have to give me access to your house. I just came here today to tell you that my parents had no idea their son had met his biological parents and we're worried he has gone missing. How about you guys do the right thing and explain the cause and effect to them"

Feng Boqi didn't know what to say and could only watch as her husband took the phone away

"I'm sorry about that. It was an oversight on our part. And Haoming must've been too excited to reunite with us and forgot."

Fu Ling didn't even pretend to be polite towards him

"My parents are not people to be slighted by you. All three of you owe them an apology. If it's not to my liking, you'll all suffer."

Fu Ling hung up, thanked the gatekeeper uncle and went back.

Back in the Fu family villa, Fu Shilei gently dropped the receiver but his hands were trembling slightly. No one knew this but he had always been a little afraid of Fu Ling. Even when everyone called that child a useless playboy, who only knew how to eat and drink, he couldn't help the feeling of pressure anytime he saw that kid.

His fears were confirmed some years ago when the Fu family was in a bad condition. Every means they tried to use in turning the tide failed. Fu Ling managed to resolve the whole issue in less than a week. That was when all the Fu family members realized he wasn't useless, just lazy.

He wouldn't allow it to be spread so no one in the circle knew how the Fu family was able to make that beautiful comeback but everyone on the Fu family knew it quite clearly.

Fu Ling's words were a blatant threat. Fu Shilei had thought that with such a son, the Fu family will soar even higher but who knew that fate would play such a wicked trick on them.
