Everyone's suspicion

"Chef Liu, what brings you here?" Jaxon said in surprise.

The familiar person who suddenly appeared in front of Jaxon's stall was none other than Chef Liu from Kaillemen. Jaxon didn't expect him to show up at his stall. After all, it was mealtime, the busiest time for Kaillemen. How could Chef Liu have time to wander around when he should be in the kitchen at Kaillemen?

"Don't call me Chef Liu anymore. I've resigned from Kaillemen," Chef Liu said. "Mr. Jaxon can call me by my name. My name is Liu Yidao."

"Liu Yidao? That's a pretty unique name," Jaxon said. "But why did you resign from Kaillemen? It's already one of the best restaurants in Goldenleaf. It would be hard to find a better job in Goldenleaf after leaving there."

"I told you, I want to learn cooking from you," Liu Yidao said. "I can't learn from you if I stay at Kaillemen."

"You're serious?" Jaxon said in surprise. He had thought Liu Yidao was joking when he mentioned wanting to learn from him. He didn't expect Liu Yidao to actually quit his job at Kaillemen.

"Absolutely serious," Liu Yidao said.

"I'm afraid you might be disappointed. I'm just a barbecue maker," Jaxon said.

"I'm not disappointed," Liu Yidao shook his head. "Cooking involves many aspects, and barbecue is one of them. Your skills are higher than mine, and you can definitely teach me."

Jaxon didn't expect Liu Yidao to be so persistent. He actually quit his job at Kaillemen just to learn cooking, and his attitude was very respectful.

"Do you really want to learn from me?" Jaxon said.

"Yes!" Liu Yidao affirmed.

"In that case, start by assisting me first," Jaxon said.

This was also a test for Liu Yidao from Jaxon. If he was unwilling, he could leave. If he was willing, Jaxon wouldn't mind taking him on as an apprentice.

After Jaxon apprenticed to Granny Wang, he learned a wealth of cooking knowledge. Granny Wang was a grandmaster-level chef, and she had passed on all her cooking knowledge to Jaxon. This meant that Jaxon now possessed grandmaster-level cooking theory knowledge. He was currently an advanced chef, but his practical cooking experience was still lacking. However, as long as he cooked regularly, even just making barbecue, he could gain cooking experience and improve his cooking level.

Other people needed talent, enlightenment, and timing to improve their cooking skills, but Jaxon didn't. As long as he cooked more and gained experience, he could keep upgrading. This was the advantage of being a "player."

Since Jaxon's advanced cooking skills already surpassed Liu Yidao's, there was no problem teaching Liu Yidao with his grandmaster-level theoretical knowledge. Moreover, as a "player," Jaxon believed that his cooking level would improve faster than Liu Yidao's. Therefore, even in terms of practical cooking skills, Jaxon was confident that he could always stay ahead of Liu Yidao.

Thus, Jaxon was fully capable and qualified to be Liu Yidao's master.

Of course, Jaxon also had future plans for his restaurant when he took Liu Yidao on as an apprentice.

In the game world, he had planted a large number of vegetables and fruits and raised quite a few livestock. It would be a pity not to open a restaurant with all those resources, especially since Jaxon himself had excellent cooking skills. Not opening a restaurant would be a waste.

However, if he were to open a restaurant, he couldn't be the only chef. Unless he only wanted to run a small-scale operation, it was a good idea to start training chefs now, and Liu Yidao was the perfect candidate.

Liu Yidao was already the head chef at Kaillemen, so he had the skills. With Jaxon's teaching, he would have no problem becoming the head chef of Jaxon's future restaurant, allowing Jaxon to focus on other things.

"Sure, no problem!" Without a moment's hesitation, Liu Yidao agreed to Jaxon's request, his face not showing the slightest displeasure but instead filled with excitement.

Jaxon was very satisfied with his reaction. It was a huge drop in status to go from being the head chef of a well-known restaurant to an assistant at a barbecue stall. Most people wouldn't be able to accept such a difference, but Liu Yidao didn't complain at all, which was quite rare.

Liu Yidao was clearly no stranger to cooking matters, and he was equally knowledgeable about barbecue. With his help, Jaxon felt much more relaxed and less tired than before.

Sometimes, Jaxon would let Liu Yidao barbecue part of the food and would explain some barbecue techniques to him at the same time. Liu Yidao listened very attentively. Cooking skills were interconnected. Barbecue and cooking had many similarities, so naturally, Liu Yidao studied carefully when Jaxon taught him.

"Boss, is he really okay? We only eat the barbecue you make."

"Yeah, we're here for your cooking. If you're too busy, we can wait."

"That's right, I agree."

When Jaxon let Liu Yidao barbecue part of the food, the customers had objections. They came to Jaxon's stall because they liked his cooking. They were willing to wait in line just to enjoy his skills. Now, if Jaxon let someone else barbecue, they were afraid the taste wouldn't be as good as Jaxon's. After all, the ingredients and seasonings for barbecue were mostly the same. The difference in taste depended on the barbecue chef's skills. Others might not be able to make it as delicious as Jaxon.

"Don't worry, his cooking will be just as good," Jaxon said with a smile. "Where did he work before?"

"Where?"

"Kaillemen! And he was the head chef there. How could his food be bad?"

"Kaillemen? No way!"

"Right, Kaillemen is such a famous place. How could their head chef be here making barbecue on the street?"

"I don't believe it."

The onlookers, although not all of them had been to Kaillemen, had heard of the place before. After all, it was one of the most famous restaurants in Goldenleaf. In their minds, the head chef of such a place must have a high status and great skills. How could he possibly be making barbecue at a street stall?

"Humph! What a tall tale!"

"Yeah, who would believe such a story? It's just a trick to attract customers."

"These young people will do anything for business, always coming up with these gimmicks."

Not only the customers surrounding them, but even the other barbecue stall owners didn't believe Jaxon's words. They thought it was just a tactic to attract more custom
