Why am I so pathetic?
After saying that, the young man wanted to slap himself. What he had intended to say was not that, but somehow, the words changed as they reached his lips, making him feel embarrassed.
"Never mind, I can deal with him after I finish eating," the young man thought to himself.
"Give me another serving of chicken wings, and make it extra spicy!"
"I'll take three skewers of pork belly; what I ordered earlier just isn't enough."
"I want to add..."
Seeing the leader order another serving, the other young men, who had been hesitating, immediately stepped forward and ordered what they wanted.
Initially, they had planned to cause trouble after eating, so they hadn't ordered much. But now that they found the barbecue so delicious, they naturally wanted to order more.
Jaxon, watching these eager customers, was puzzled.
Did I misjudge them? Are they just rough-looking but actually good people? Normal customers?
The other barbecue stall owners near Jaxon's stall were equally confused. They had hired these young men, but not to patronize Jaxon's business. They had hired them to cause trouble and shut down Jaxon's stall.
However, what was happening now was completely unexpected.
The young men had obediently waited in line earlier, and now they were eating heartily, their faces showing pure enjoyment and satisfaction, as if they were extremely pleased with the food at Jaxon's stall.
This wasn't supposed to be the script. Weren't they supposed to flip over Jaxon's stall after a few bites? Why were they so focused on eating and forgot their real mission?
"What's going on with these guys? So unreliable?"
"I have no idea either. Who knows what they're thinking."
"Don't look at me. I don't know them well either. Although I hired them, I don't interact with them much and don't really understand them."
"Let's just wait and see. Maybe they're just hungry and want to eat first."
"A bunch of brainless fools. They can forget their real mission just because of food. I shouldn't have trusted them."
The barbecue stall owners, whose businesses were getting even more sluggish, gathered together again, and they couldn't stop complaining about the behavior of the young men.
But for now, they had no other choice but to wait, hoping that after the young men finished eating, they would remember their real mission.
"Boss, bring us another case of beer."
"Yeah, beer. How can you enjoy barbecue without beer?"
"Right, I've been feeling like something was missing. Now that you mention it, let's get the beer!"
Unaware of what Jaxon and the other barbecue stall owners were thinking, the young men seemed to be having a great time. They not only ordered more food but also beer, enjoying their barbecue and beer as if they were truly living it up.
Since the young men were customers and were not causing trouble at the moment, Jaxon naturally couldn't refuse their requests.
The young men ate and drank, feeling very comfortable, which made the other barbecue stall owners even more anxious.
"Brother Niu, did we forget something?"
It wasn't until they were almost done eating and drinking that one of the young men seemed to remember something and asked the leader.
The leader, who had been happily gnawing on a chicken leg, froze at the question. Then he cursed, "You bunch of idiots and gluttons, you almost made me forget the real mission!"
The young men, who had been scolded by their leader while he was holding a chicken leg, were inwardly mocking him.
Idiot and glutton includes you too.
"Alright, we've eaten enough. It's time to get down to business," the leader said to the others.
The others quickly nodded in agreement.
The leader glanced at the half-eaten chicken leg in his hand with some reluctance, then walked towards Jaxon with the chicken leg still in hand.
"Checking out? That'll be 1088, but you can pay 1080," Jaxon said indifferently, looking at the group.
"Damn it! Did we really eat that much?" The leader, who had intended to cause trouble, was both shocked and angry when he heard Jaxon's words. He turned to the others and said, "Are you guys gluttons? Why did you eat so much? You're useless when it comes to doing tasks, but you eat faster than anyone else. How could you eat so much?"
"I didn't eat that much. Just three chicken legs, two pig's trotters, five skewers of chicken wings, ten oysters..."
"Brother Niu, you ate a lot too."
"Yeah, Brother Niu, you ate the most."
The other young men defended themselves. Although they had eaten a lot, the leader had actually eaten the most. They didn't want to be labeled as gluttons, as it would affect their reputation.
"Just because I say you ate a lot, you did!" The leader was almost furious. These subordinates were getting out of line, daring to contradict him. He needed to discipline them when they got back. They needed to know who was the boss. When the boss was scolding, they should just listen and not talk back.
"Brother Niu, the real mission, don't forget the real mission," the young man who had reminded the leader earlier whispered again.
The leader was stunned for a moment, then slapped his head hard, so hard that he felt dizzy and even more annoyed. He scolded the young men in a low voice, "It's all because of you guys! I almost forgot the real mission!"
The young men rolled their eyes secretly but didn't dare to say anything more.
The leader seemed satisfied with his subordinates' behavior and turned to Jaxon with a fierce expression on his face.
"Cash or mobile payment?" Jaxon asked again.
"We're not here to check out," the leader said, "We're here to settle a score with you."
"Settling a score is the same as checking out, isn't it?" Jaxon said, "The total is 1080. Cash or mobile payment?"
"I told you, we're not here to check out," the young man said, "Why can't you understand what I'm saying?"
"What do you mean then?" Jaxon asked.
At that moment, one of the young men behind the leader kicked over a stool and shouted loudly, "We're here to cause trouble!"
The leader was stunned for a moment, then his face turned red with shame: How could he have brought such fools with him? They were so brainless!
"Oh, I see," Jaxon nodded, "You guys are here to deliberately cause trouble."
