Have You Trained

"Captain, where are you from?" Zheng Xiaoliu asked curiously.

"I? I'm from Hermit Village," Jaxon replied.

"Hermit Village?" Zheng Xiaoliu thought for a moment, then shook his head and said, "I've never heard of it."

The others also shook their heads, indicating they had never heard of the name.

Jaxon recalled that when he entered the city, the young soldier at the gate hadn't heard of Hermit Village either. However, the older soldier had, so it seemed that Hermit Village was somewhat of a mystery.

Thinking about the many master-level figures living in Hermit Village, including the old village head, who was a master in several fields, Jaxon couldn't help but feel that Hermit Village was no ordinary place.

In the evening, everyone finished their training for the day and returned to the camp arranged by the military.

"From today on, you are soldiers of the Imperial Flying Sparrow Camp. Although you were temporarily conscripted, as long as you are serving in the military, you must follow the camp's rules. After dark, you must stay in the camp. No one is allowed to leave without my permission. If anyone does, they will be treated as deserters!" Before the group dispersed, Zhou Shan gathered everyone to give a lecture.

"Did you hear that?"

"Yes," they all responded.

"Didn't eat? Speak up louder, did you hear that?"

"We… heard it!" everyone yelled in unison.

Zhou Shan was satisfied with their response and nodded, saying, "Dismissed! Each squad, return to your tents with your squad leaders."

Jaxon led Ox and the others to their tent.

"This is where you'll be staying," Jaxon said, pointing to a slightly larger tent. "Did you all hear what Captain Zhou said? No leaving the camp without permission, and one more thing: I like to rest at night without disturbance. Understood?"

Jaxon's tent was next to the others. Since he would be returning to the real world soon, he didn't want anyone to come looking for him during the night and risk them noticing he wasn't in his tent. He decided to remind them just in case.

"Understood," Ox and the others nodded.

"Good, go rest now. Don't wander off. Tomorrow's training won't be easy," Jaxon said.

They all nodded in agreement, recalling today's intense training. With Zhou Shan's nature, it was clear that tomorrow's training wouldn't be any easier.

After parting ways with Ox and the others, Jaxon entered his own tent and pulled the flap closed.

Although he was a squad leader, Jaxon's tent was small. But he was satisfied with it. As long as he had a place to be alone, the size of the tent didn't matter—he wasn't actually going to sleep there anyway.

With a shift in his perspective, Jaxon returned to the real world.

The next morning, when Jaxon went to Goldenleaf University's sports field for his workout, he noticed more eyes on him. He felt like he was the center of attention, which made him a bit uneasy.

"Not used to it?" Chloe's voice came from beside him. He hadn't noticed when she had approached and stopped by his side.

"A bit," Jaxon nodded.

"You'll get used to it," Chloe replied.

"Maybe," Jaxon said.

Chloe brushed some hair out of her forehead and, sounding casual, asked, "Why didn't you mention it before?"

"Mention what?" Jaxon asked, confused.

"That you're a teacher," Chloe said softly.

"Oh, it's nothing special," Jaxon laughed. "I became a teacher by accident. I don't even know how it happened."

Jaxon wasn't surprised that Chloe knew about him being a teacher. He was now a teacher at Goldenleaf University, and his side business selling barbecue had become well-known. Many people at school knew about it, and that was why people were looking at him this morning. It was natural for Chloe to be aware of it too.

"Is Tang Yufei in your class?" Chloe asked.

Jaxon's mind immediately went to Tang Yufei's graceful figure. He nodded and replied, "Yeah."

"She's really beautiful, isn't she?" Chloe asked.

Though Chloe's question sounded casual, Jaxon couldn't help but feel there was something off about her tone.

"Yeah, she's beautiful," Jaxon replied honestly, unsure of what Chloe was thinking.

Tang Yufei was indeed beautiful, or she wouldn't be known as one of the two most stunning women at Goldenleaf University, along with Chloe. If Jaxon said she wasn't beautiful, it would definitely be a lie.

What Jaxon didn't know was that, sometimes, women just want to hear something different from the truth.

"Hmph," Chloe let out a soft cold snort, and Jaxon felt the temperature around them drop slightly.

Jaxon was even more confused now.

But Chloe didn't press the issue any further. Instead, she changed the topic. "Have you trained before?"

"Trained?" Jaxon asked. "Does running in the mornings count?"

"Doesn't count."

"Then, no."

Chloe nodded thoughtfully. "You're strong, and you're fast, but you don't seem like someone who's trained. It's all from your natural physical abilities."

"You also know about what happened last night?" Jaxon, hearing Chloe's words, realized she was referring to the fight the night before.

There were students from Goldenleaf University at the scene, and someone recorded a video, so it wasn't surprising that it had spread.

Jaxon was a bit worried, though. If the principal found out about it, he wasn't sure if he could keep his teaching position.

Chloe nodded and was lost in thought.

The two of them continued running together. Though Chloe didn't say anything more, their run still attracted a lot of attention. Chloe was already quite famous at Goldenleaf University, and Jaxon had started to gain some fame since yesterday. Seeing the two of them running together, it wasn't surprising that it caught everyone's eye.

After the morning run, Jaxon left Goldenleaf University. When he didn't have classes, he usually didn't stay on campus. Besides, now that he was at the university, whenever he walked through the campus, people were always staring at him, making him feel uncomfortable. He wanted to escape their gaze for a while to reduce his attention and let everyone forget about him for a bit.

What Jaxon didn't know was that shortly after he left Goldenleaf University, Li Bing arrived at the school. However, he didn't go to the office but instead headed straight to the principal's office.
