Meeting the fortuneteller

"This place is a mess. It seems that the encroachment of the corrupted beasts has surely affected this entire world." Tristan finally conceded. He had been driving for that whole time and everywhere that he passed was just quite with a few skimmishes here and there.

He could also see that several buildings were already on fire and Tristan feared that those tall buildings would fall down when their foundation were weaken, it was just about time. Even the electricity in the city was no more and what was illuminating these buildings were the backup generators which made even the disrupted electric line in these buildings to make the light bulbs to flicker from time to time.

"Damn it! I will just have to ram on this guy, I am not taking any chances. They might be some beast, who knows?" Tristan's eyes flickered with determination and he switched on all the headlights and accelerated as if his life depended on it.

"What is irritating me now?" Tristan who was determined to ram over the guy in a red cladding, he felt an itching in his belly which made him to loose control and ram his car on another vehicle nearby after missing the targeted person.

Fortunately, Tristan was quick on stepping on brakes, thus, the car was not too damaged.

"Oooh man, I can see that you are so stressed out... but I need this car." Before even Tristan could continue to mull over what was wrong with him, he heard this voice from the car window beside him.

Tristan turned his head to stare at the window so that he could see who was this audacious to disturb his disoriented mind. If the guy didn't have anything good to say, he would then have to forgive Tristan for not going easy on him.

"What..." Tristan was about to berate this audacious guy but when he saw his face, his mind was then rattled as he recalled where he had seen him.

Yes! Just like Tristan, the guy beside him came from another world and he had accessed this world through the teleport device. Tristan knew him because the guy had once advised him when he was still a schoolboy but it was a very long time ago and their meeting was only for a moment.

'I can not ignore this guy, after all, his prophecies were right on point. Back then, he told me that I would be sent to an apocalyptic world the moment I went through that teleport device and as I can see, this world could be seen as doomed.' Tristan though. If he could rope in this fortuneteller guy, who knew what will happen in the future, maybe they could avoid some future problems.

"I know you!" Tristan and the fortune teller both said at the same time. Tristan could also see that the fortune teller had a short woman beside him, no, it was not that this woman was short, it was just that the fortune teller was a very tall guy which made the woman to look small when she stood beside him. The fortune teller had grasped the woman close to him not daring to let her leave his side even by a distance of a metre. When they stood together, if one didn't look keenly, they would assume them as a strange beast but not humans especially in this darkness world that was rampaged by corrupted beasts. That was why Tristan assumed them to be something else other than a human because of how weird they looked from afar. One should also know that the woman was also cladded in a red attire just like the fortune teller.

"Mu! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! It's good to meet you punk. I knew that you will survive this entire thing the moment I saw you. It's definitely fate that has brought us together. Quick! Open the door, this brother is so tired of walking in this deserted city, there are also some friends of ours out there who will not hesitate to rip us apart so, it is better to quickly get out of this place." The fortune teller said with a wide grin plastered on his face. This time round, the fortuneteller was not serious like the way he was back then when he was telling Tristan about his future. From this, Tristan could tell that he was quite a person whom he could socialize with because of his charms. After all, to make the people to believe in you as a fortune teller, one had to have the charms, able to convincing and being assertive.
