Gavin inside his spirit world sat on the pedestal on the altar, thinking how to form a spell rune so that the elder could advance from a shaman to a great shaman. Elder only lacks a Black rank spell rune.
For this, he receives the inheritance of his new body but he finds the spell runes that were in the vampire bat are innate spell runes. This means only a vampire bat can learn and activate the spell runes. Elder to use the spell rune, he has to first understand the rune and then engrave it inside his sea of consciousness.
" There is some similarity between the Psychic and the Shaman cultivation system at the beginning." Gavin thought after he understood the Shaman cultivation system. Later the difference may disappear or become the same.
In Psychic cultivation for ordinary people to advance to become psychic apprentices, you have to form the object in the mediation method inside your mind. The objects in the mediation method are representations of the rules of the universe in the form of an object.
To form them inside your mind is to attract the rules of the universe. If you are talented then in under a year you will become a psychic apprentice, with your sea of consciousness open and the object forming inside your sea of consciousness.
The object can change up to the psychic third rank but when you advance to the fourth rank psychic, the object crystalizes and cannot be changed without using precious resources like Forgotten water, and time sands.
And to advance to the seventh rank psychic, you have formed a spiritual world inside your sea of consciousness and the object merges with the origin of the spiritual world.
Shaman cultivation system, you are born as a shaman and advance to a great shaman engraved with a black rank spell rune inside your sea of consciousness.
In the realm of psychics, Shamans and Great Shamans represent the stages of apprentices. While he had never encountered a Great Shaman, he could reflect on their strength or life expectancy.
Psychic apprentices typically have a life expectancy of around 150 years. By scanning the elder with his spiritual field, he found the elder's life expectancy aligned closely with the rest of the tribe. However, Via stood out—her life expectancy was 20 years higher than that of the other tribespeople.
Gavin murmured, "The reason might be that she awakened with wood-element energy."
He then remembered when he read the books at the elder's house, one of the books was about the beast race. They can advance into three different paths-
1. Spirit Beast- They absorb energy and enhance their soul with the energy, so when a beast advances to a spirit beast they have wisdom similar to other inherent wisdom races. They become the totem of most of the tribes.
2. Magic Beast- They absorb the spiritual energy of the world and combine their energy to form magic energy. Which awakens the innate spell hidden in their genes. When they understand the spell a little they can advance to become a Magic Beast.
3. Feral Beast- They absorb the spiritual energy and strengthen their body. When their body became stronger they advanced to become a Feral Beast.
The Spirit Beast method is the most dangerous with one wrong move you are dead, The Magic Beast method happily depends on the talent of comprehension of the beast, and The Feral Beast method is the most resource-intensive.
The Magic Beast method sparked an idea in his mind, but first, he needed to test its feasibility. For the experiment, his spirit field had scanned the entire valley a few minutes earlier, and he had identified the perfect subject. He continued to scan the valley at ten-minute intervals.
In the western part of the valley, where it met the mountain, a massive wolf lay injured, rolled over, and unconscious. If the wolf were awake, it would never have dared to set foot in the valley.
Initially, he assumed the wolf had chosen the feral beast's path. However, upon closer inspection, he realized the wolf's energy had completely transformed into earth magic energy. Discovering the wolf, an idea began to take shape in his mind—a way to obtain a black-rank spell rune.
In the universe of his previous life, psychics can choose the star beast as familiar. The familiar has an independent thinking ability but the psychic can also take over the body of their familiar for a short period and later if they wish they can transform the familiar into their clone.
Thinking about the idea of having a familiar, Gavin reflected on the ambush. If he had possessed a familiar at that time, would he have entered the black hole? He pondered for a few moments and concluded: if no one had known about his familiar, and it wasn't with him, perhaps he wouldn't have chosen to enter the black hole. In that case, his soul might not have been drawn to this world by the altar.
However, entering the black hole and being brought to this world by the altar wasn't entirely a misstep. It had given him the chance to see a different world and understand the altar's purpose. Perhaps, once the altar is repaired, it could even take him back.
He felt no attachment to his original universe—his family and immediate relatives were gone. Yet, he burned with a singular desire: revenge. He vowed to reduce the six immortal families to dust.
Gavin had learned the psychic familiar spell, he has to now transform the familiar spell, so that he or others can use it. He understands the genetic inheritance of the vampire bat which made him pry inside the runes of the world.
For him now, it is difficult to transform an advanced psychic spell but it is easy to transform a basic psychic spell.
And in no time he transforms the familiar spell, so it can used in this world but only he can use it. So, he created another one for the elder and the future shamans with a vampire bat's inheritance a blood seal.
Gavin cast the newly transformed familiar spell on the injured wolf. First, he engraved the rune onto the barrier of the wolf's sea of consciousness. Once the rune was in place, Gavin could sense the wolf's emotions and body information. This sparked a new idea: if he could transform the wolf into his clone, he could use it to explore the world and protect his true body.
Transforming the wolf into his clone would typically take decades as the familiar rune gradually merged into the wolf's sea of consciousness.
However, Gavin was unwilling to wait that long. Using his spirit, he forcefully drove the familiar rune deeper into the wolf's sea of consciousness. As he began transforming the wolf's soul into his clone, only ten seconds passed before the golden runes that had once sealed him reappeared and locked his spirit.
Now unable to project his spirit outward, Gavin retained access to his spirit field ability. Despite the sealing, a portion of his spirit remained within the wolf's sea of consciousness. Though his spirit was lesser in quantity than the wolf's, its superior quality allowed him to overwhelm the wolf's spirit. With precise control through his spirit field, Gavin forced his spirit to take over the wolf's sea of consciousness.
The wolf, still unconscious, was transformed into his clone without resistance.
Gavin feels the clone's body with his spirit field and determines, the clone to remain unconsiousness as the spiritual energy healing the clone's body. He to speed up the healing uses his spirit field to converge nearby spiritual energy to the wolf.
He then sent the second method he had created to the elder. This method was developed because the elder lacked the overwhelming power needed to subdue a beast's spirit and make it his own. By combining a blood spell with elements of the vampire bat's inheritance, Gavin crafted the Blood Familiar Seal.
Recalling an important detail, he sent another message to the elder: "Only a shaman of your strength can use this. Shamans weaker than you may risk injuring their spirit."
He added this caution because there were two shamans in the tribe, and with this new method, they could acquire familiars to aid in defending their people. The elder might even choose to help Via obtain a familiar. Based on the energy within the elder's body, Gavin assessed him to be in the Peak Shaman Realm, while Via's energy placed her in the Intermediate Shaman Realm.
Gavin then turned his attention to the inheritance of the vampire bat, contemplating whether he could break the seal. However, he was interrupted by a message from the elder, asking, "Can any beast become my familiar?"
Gavin didn't need to think—he already knew the answer and its reasoning. He replied: "No, only a beast with a spirit element will suffice."
Shamans are born with their elemental affinity. While this provides convenience, it also brings a significant limitation: they can only use the element they are born with. Elder Jion's element is spirit, while Via's is wood.
Through his spirit field, Gavin observed the elder's distressed expression as he discussed with Al, Via, and Ajis how to find a spirit-element beast.
Gavin learned that such beasts are rare and challenging to identify. Beasts of other elements can often be distinguished by their appearance even before forming their magic energy. In contrast, spirit-element beasts are much harder to differentiate before their magic energy develops.
However, Gavin had already identified a spirit-element beast whose magic energy had not yet fully developed. He had noticed it earlier that morning, shortly after regaining consciousness. The creature was perched atop a tree in the northern part of the valley—a midnight-feathered owl.
Gavin was able to determine that the owl was a spirit-element beast because it was on the verge of developing its magic energy. As it attempted to merge its innate energy with spiritual energy, a subtle fluctuation arose. From this, Gavin could confidently discern its spirit-element nature.
He then sent the information to the elder, urging him to capture the owl before nightfall. Upon receiving the message, the elder, along with the three he was conversing with, quickly made his way to the tree where the owl was resting.
When they arrived, Gavin was surprised to see Via take the first action. Placing her palm on the tree trunk and the branch where the owl was perched, she caused six smaller branches to grow out, forming a cage around the owl and trapping it. The owl stirred awake as the branch began to shake, but before it could react, the cage was fully formed.
The owl flapped its wings frantically, attempting to escape, but its efforts were in vain. Ajis leaped onto a branch near the trapped owl, broke off the branch it was sitting on, and jumped to the ground with it. Placing the branch on the ground, Ajis held the owl steady while Via tightened the cage.
Eager to proceed, the elder, now equipped with the method to advance to Great Shaman, bit his thumb to draw blood and sketched the seal onto the owl's forehead. As Ajis restrained the owl and Via reinforced the cage, Gavin observed intently. Using his spirit field, he saw the seal forming simultaneously on the barrier of the owl's sea of consciousness.
Satisfied, Gavin shifted his focus back to himself. The elder would not be able to advance to Great Shaman until the owl fully developed its magic energy and awakened its innate spell. Once the spell was awakened, the elder would need to comprehend it and inscribe the rune into his sea of consciousness.
Although the elder could take over the owl's body for short periods each day to better understand its spell, the process would still take time—likely the entire winter season. However, for the Snake Tribe to perceive the elder as a threat, he would need to reach the Great Shaman Realm before the upcoming spring.
