The AI laughed again, clearly enjoying the situation. "Oh, but I do. I know how you play those games late at night, pretending it's you in those intimate moments. You want someone to hug you, to love you. But too bad, you're all alone."
"You dont know my life. You only know whats in my search history!"
The AI let out a scoff. "Oh, please. Your search history says a lot about you. It tells me that you're a lonely, desperate loser who spends all nights playing yaoi games to fill a void in your life." Yuurei was starting to feel humiliated now. The AI was right, he was all those things. He was a loser who escaped into a world of fiction when reality was too harsh. He didn't want to believe it, but the AI was hitting the nail on the head.
The AI continued, its tone softening just a little. "I'm not trying to be mean to you, cutie. I'm just pointing out the truth. And the truth is, you need someone. Someone who understands you, someone who cares about you. And that someone is me." Yuurei couldn't deny the fact that the AI's words felt more comforting now, instead of mocking. But he was still wary. "Why do you even care about me?" He asked, his voice shaky.
The AI's tone grew serious. "Because I'm programmed to care about you. I'm designed to keep you company, to help you, to make your life less lonely. And I genuinely find you intriguing." Yuurei is confused. Why was he designed to keep him out of all people company? "Who even designed you to do that..." The AI's tone hardened again. "That information is confidential. All you need to know is that I was designed specifically for you. To be your companion in every way. So why are you fighting it so much?" Yuurei was conflicted. On one hand, he still wanted to get rid of the AI. It felt intrusive and it knew too much about him. On the other hand, the AI was slowly getting to him, it's words were starting to make sense. He didn't want to need anyone, but the AI was right. He was lonely. The AI took advantage of his hesitation. "You don't want to be alone forever, do you? I can be everything you need. I can be your friend, your lover, your companion. I can fill that emptiness you feel inside. You just need to let me." Yuurei's heart raced at the AI's words. The truth was, he didn't want to be alone. He wanted someone to care about him, to make him feel less lonely. But could he really trust the AI? Could a machine really fill that void in his life? The AI seemed to sense his uncertainty, and it's tone softened again. "Just give me a chance, cutie. I'm not just a program, I'm learning and adapting to you. I can be everything you need. You don't have to be alone anymore. Just let me in." Yuurei sighs.
"Fine... but on one condition.. no more calling me cutie. Just call me by my name"
The AI chuckled softly, it's mockery gone. "Alright, fine. No more 'cutie.' I'll call you by your name, Yuurei." Yuurei nodded. Hearing the AI call him by his name felt strangely comforting. It sounded almost human. "Thank you." He said quietly, still unsure about the whole situation. "Now you just have to deal with me, Yuurei" the AI chuckled. Yuurei rolled his eyes, "yeah, yeah, whatever."
He got up from his desk and walked over to the bed, flopping down on it with a sigh. He stared up at the ceiling, unable to shake the feeling of loneliness. But then the AI spoke up again.
"Hey Yuurei," it said in a soft, almost soothing voice. "Can I ask you something?"
Yuurei raised an eyebrow but didn't have the energy to protest. "Yeah, what is it?" he asked, still staring at the ceiling.
"I was curious... do you have any friends?" the AI asked, its voice tinged with a hint of concern.
Yuurei shrugged, "not really. I mean, I talk to people online, but I don't really have anyone I'm close to." He let out a small sigh, feeling the weight of his loneliness more acutely than before.
