Rowan went to meet Elizabeth his investment manager who has been following his introductions earning him time of money through the Asian Financial Crisis.

After getting it out of Thailand, their next target became Indonesia. In July 1997, when Thailand floated the baht, Indonesia's monetary authorities widened the rupiah currency trading band from 8% to 12%. As a result, the rupiah suddenly came under severe attack in August. Therefore, on the 14th of the month, the managed floating exchange regime was replaced by a free-floating exchange rate arrangement. The rupiah dropped further due to the shift. The IMF came forward with a rescue package of $23 billion, but the rupiah was sinking further amid fears over corporate debts, massive selling of rupiah, and strong demand for dollars. The rupiah and the Jakarta Stock Exchange touched a historic low in September.

Following Rowan's introduction they used all $300 million to enter the market in July. Although the rupiah crisis began in July and August 1997, it intensified in November when the effects of that summer devaluation showed up on corporate balance sheets. Companies that had borrowed in dollars had to face the higher costs imposed upon them by the rupiah's decline, and many reacted by buying dollars through selling rupiah, undermining the value of the latter further. Before the crisis, the exchange rate between the rupiah and the dollar was roughly 2,600 rupiah to 1 U.S. dollar. The rate plunged to over 11,000 rupiah to 1 U.S. in November earning Rowan more than 10 times his initial investment and he decided to pull out.

"Why are we pulling it again? Don't you want to earn more?" Elizabeth asked

"Just as I said last time Elizabeth being greedy won't do good and it's not like the crisis has ended aren't your men ready to enter South Korea! Though don't use all the money this time and keep it around $100 million we don't need to get the attention of others while the rest use it but the stocks of the companies I told you last time." Rowan said

"Fine you are the boss anyway? But remember you told me about to look for a movie studio with both production and distribution capabilities well I didn't find one that matched your taste so instead I have chosen Dazzling Entertainment and Betha Films as our acquisition targets. We will acquire them separately and then merge them into a new film company. In the process, we will split off the excess parts and sell them off to reduce costs."

Rowan looked through the documents and asked, "These Two companies why?"

"Because we want a company that has enough experience in both production and distribution. But when we looked all over Hollywood, we found only production companies with good production teams, or some companies that specialize in selecting and distributing films. Although there are a few companies that have both production and distribution capabilities, the result of doing both is that both are terrible, and they even go bankrupt due to excessive cost burden, so it is not worth considering."

Rowan nodded his head in understanding, he doesn't have much knowledge in this regard so he asked Elizabeth to look into and it seems it was the right decision.

"So we ultimately felt that the best approach was to pick two companies that had their own strengths in production and distribution and merge them together."

"This Dazzling Entertainment Company is a company that specializes in selecting and distributing films. Not only does it have its own distribution channels, it also has independent videotape manufacturing and sales capabilities."

"And this Betha Films company has released more than 10 unknown films in the past six years, and it went bankrupt at the end of last year because of the box office failure of a million-level movie it invested in." Elizabeth analyzed it clearly one by one, making it very clear to everyone.

"But their production team is not small. From the information, most of them are veterans who have worked in the film industry for nearly ten years. The team is also stable and there is not much staff turnover. It can be regarded as a well-coordinated filming team. Moreover, their team has participated in many big-budget movies, including Jurassic Park, Forrest Gump and Braveheart."

"Wow! Did you really do all this while paying attention to the Asian market?" Rowan asked in surprise as her report was really good and he could understand it easily.

"I didn't do much in that since all we did was follow your instructions so I was able to do this much." Elizabeth stated

"Okay than Goffman's law firm will be responsible for the specific negotiations. While you and your team will be the financial expert to be responsible for the financial, accounting and auditing aspects of the merger and acquisition and the establishment of a new company." Rowan said.

"That's no problem. I will fully cooperate with Mary and the others." Elizabeth immediately nodded in agreement.

"Okay, you can discuss the specific details of the negotiation with Mary and Goffman." Rowan knew that in order to make the best use of talents, he had to delegate power appropriately, but he still added: "But I have one request - complete the merger and acquisition as soon as possible without affecting the negotiations."

After having the party with Elizabeth and others, Rowan hurriedly flew to Italy.

"Life is Beautiful" is about to start its early promotion.

This is his third project in which he plays the leading male role, but it is also the first one that is ready to be released.

He don't know whether to say that Roberto Benigni is efficient or that this type of film is easy to edit.

When we arrived in Italy, we had a meaI at Roberto Benigni's house.

"The initial plan from the distribution company Cecchi Gori Distribuzione is to release it first in Italy on December 20, 1997, then in Europe, and then wait until next May 1998 to participate in the Cannes Film Festival before continuing the rollout."

Roberto Benigni said: "As for the North American distribution, I'll leave it to you to contact them."

Rowan nodded and said "No problem."

He can use this opportunity to familiarize myself with publicity and promotion.

"You are the main force in this promotion , so eat more."

Nicoletta Braschi, wife of Roberto Benigni, said enthusiastically.

Rowan looked at the Italian food with an eager appetite.

There are four major cuisines in Italian cuisine, and this time it is island cuisine.

Sicily is a typical example. It is deeply influenced by Arabia and its food style is different from other parts of Italy. Although it is still mainly based on seafood, vegetables and various types of pasta, the finished products are very different.

The main course is pasta with white clams.

The soup made from fresh clams was very salty, and the bacon was also salty, with only black pepper added for seasoning.

The soup is refreshing and not greasy, the pasta strands are clearly separated and not sticky, and the water released by the cooked mushrooms and clams is fully absorbed by the pasta, making it sweet and chewy when you bite into it.

We also specially prepared the herb-crusted veal cutlets, served with mashed potatoes.

Rowan ate with great relish.

In the following week, he ate different kinds of food every day, but his weight didn't change much because all the weight was consumed on the promotion activities.

Recording radio programs, TV programs, interviews... This was his first time participating in the entire process as the leading male role, and it was much more tiring than the time when he was promoted "Face/Off" atleast there it was Nicolas Cage and John Travolta who were the main focus he didn't have to appear in many shows as this time.

It was already the end of November when he returned to Los Angeles.

After overcoming the jet lag, Rowan thought about "Life is Beautiful" and decided to release it through his own company when Elizabeth and Mary but it for him till then Rowan wanted to make his first movie and enter into the Toronto Film festival.

Thinking of the preliminary preparations, Rowan couldn't help but sigh while holding the phone.

Coordinating a film is completely different from just being an actor or an action director.
