Chapter Twenty: You’re Not Alone

James gently lifted Charlotte into his arms, holding her as if she were the most precious thing in the world. He could feel her body trembling from the weight of the truth she had just uncovered. Her stepmother had stolen her life, her company, and worst of all—her father.

Looking down at her tear-streaked face, James whispered, "No matter what happens next, I want you to remember one thing—I will always be here for you."

Charlotte clutched onto his shirt, her voice barely above a whisper. "I don't know what to do, James."

He cupped her face, forcing her to meet his gaze. "We're going to figure this out together. You don't have to carry this alone anymore."

The Forgotten Papers

James glanced at the documents scattered across the bed. "Charlotte, did you really not know all of this was in your bag?"

Charlotte shook her head, her eyes filled with confusion. "No… I never knew. I haven't used that bag in years. But… I always had this feeling that I should take it with me when I left."

James frowned, deep in thought. "It's like a part of you knew the truth was in there, waiting to be found."

Charlotte exhaled shakily. "Maybe." She traced her fingers over the letter again, her father's words echoing in her mind. You are stronger than you realize.

James tightened his grip around her waist. "This changes everything, Charlotte. You own Charlotte Corporation, and Janet has been lying to you for years. We need to take action."

Charlotte swallowed hard. "But what if she fights back? What if she—"

James pressed a finger to her lips, silencing her. "No more 'what ifs.' You have me, and I won't let her hurt you ever again."

For the first time in years, Charlotte felt something she had long forgotten—hope.

She wasn't alone anymore. And with James by her side, she was ready to take back what was rightfully hers.
