"So, you are Grandpa's friend!"
Little Goku said happily.
After turning enemies into friends with Ox-King, Renkai and the others naturally got out of the RV and introduced themselves.
According to Ox-King, he had sent his daughter, Chichi, to borrow a Banana Fan from Kame Sennin to extinguish the flames of Fire Mountain.
Renkai knew that Kame Sennin had lived for hundreds of years and had collected many treasures, including the Banana Fan. However, he never valued it much, and at some point, it was lost.
So, Chichi wouldn't be able to borrow the fan.
"Ox-King, why do you need a Banana Fan to put out the fire on Fire Mountain? I can take care of it for you."
Renkai smiled at Ox-King.
He didn't particularly like Ox-King, so there was no need to go out of his way to grant his wish. Instead, he could simply use the method from the original story to put out the fire.
"Young man, don't talk nonsense."
Ox-King didn't believe him.
If there had been another way to extinguish the fire, he wouldn't have let it burn all this time.
"Then just wait and see."
Renkai didn't waste words.
Facing the blazing mountain in the distance, he stood firmly and took the starting position of the Kamehameha.
"This stance... could it be?"
Ox-King was shocked.
He had trained under Kame Sennin for a long time but had never managed to learn this technique. The secret art of the Kame School wasn't something that just anyone could master!
"I get it! Brother is going to use the Kamehameha! But what does that have to do with putting out a fire?"
Little Goku looked puzzled.
For him, the Kamehameha was just an attack move that his brother had taught him. He had never thought of using it in other ways.
Yamcha, who aspired to be a strong martial artist, watched Renkai intently.
"HaMeHaMeHa!"
Like the main cannon of a warship, powerful blue energy gathered in Renkai's hands. A massive beam of light shot toward the burning mountain.
"It's really the Kamehameha!"
Under the bright blue light, Ox-King's face was filled with astonishment.
"So strong! Is this the power of a true martial artist?!"
Yamcha's eyes burned with admiration.
"Big brother is so strong! He's my goal! I have to train even harder and surpass him!"
Little Goku's expression was full of excitement and determination.
"Brother is so cool! Bulma loves you so much!"
Bulma held her face in her hands, eyes filled with hearts.
As the blue energy dissipated, everyone looked up again. The flames on the mountain had been completely extinguished.
"Brother Renkai, you're incredible! You can even use the Kamehameha! I really admire you! Did you also train under Master Roshi?"
Ox-King laughed happily and patted Renkai on the shoulder.
"My Kamehameha did come from Kame Sennin."
Renkai didn't see the need to lie.
"Hahaha! What a great day! Come to my home, and I'll treat you all to a feast!"
Ox-King was overjoyed.
Now that the fire was out and his home was safe, he couldn't be happier.
The Kamehameha used by Kame Sennin in the original story required his full strength, as he had long abandoned serious martial arts training. Naturally, his control over the technique was poor.
However, Renkai's power was far beyond Kame Sennin's—thousands of times stronger—so he could control the Kamehameha's energy at will. He could put out the fire without harming anything.
Ox-King enthusiastically invited Renkai and the others into his home, treating them warmly.
After a pleasant evening, Renkai asked Ox-King for the Seven-Star Dragon Ball from his treasure hoard.
Not only did Ox-King agree, but he also gifted priceless treasures to Goku and the others.
He even insisted that Renkai and Goku stay at his place for a few more days.
The next day, Ox-King approached Renkai, looking worried.
"Renkai, I have a favor to ask."
"Go ahead."
Renkai already had a good idea of what Ox-King wanted.
"I'll get straight to the point."
Ox-King sighed.
"Yesterday, I told you that my daughter Chichi went to borrow the Banana Fan from Kame Sennin. She's been gone for quite some time now. By my estimate, she should have returned already.
Chichi is traveling alone, and she's afraid of strangers. I'm worried that she might have run into trouble.
Please, help me bring her back."
Since Renkai was capable of using the Kamehameha, Ox-King naturally saw him as stronger than himself. When it came to his daughter's safety, he would rather ask Renkai than Goku.
Renkai wasn't interested in Chichi, nor did he have any intention of interfering in Goku's future marriage. However, he still nodded.
"Oh, I almost forgot! This is a picture of Chichi!"
Ox-King slapped his forehead, realizing his mistake.
How could he ask someone to find his daughter without even giving them a picture?
He took a photo from his coat pocket and handed it to Renkai.
In the picture, a cute little girl was dressed in a peculiar outfit that looked like an Ultraman costume.
"Goku, I'll leave it to you to find Chichi."
Renkai handed the photo to Goku and gave Ox-King a meaningful smile.
Ox-King was momentarily stunned.
He had asked Renkai for help, and Renkai had simply passed the task to his little brother?
But soon, Ox-King realized what was happening.
He gave Renkai a knowing look and then turned to Goku with a satisfied expression.
Clearly, Ox-King and Renkai shared the same vision.
"Goku, I'll give you a lift."
Not long after, Renkai sensed an energy similar to Ox-King's in the distance.
He grinned, grabbed Goku, and hurled him in Chichi's direction.
A few hours later, Goku returned, holding Chichi's hand.
Renkai noticed that Chichi's face was red with embarrassment.
It was clear that something had happened between the two.
Exchanging glances with Ox-King, they both smiled knowingly.
Ox-King seemed even more fond of Renkai now.
The next day, Renkai declined Ox-King's invitation to stay longer.
As Chichi reluctantly watched Goku leave, the RV sped away from Fire Mountain.
"Maybe I should ask Bulma to make a wish and teleport me straight to the Chowder Gang?"
With only the One-Star Dragon Ball left to collect, Renkai was losing interest in waiting for the gang to show up on their own.
Soon, the RV passed through a forest of giant mushrooms and arrived at a small town.
The buildings were mostly semicircular, and the people dressed in a style reminiscent of Arabian culture.
As the RV entered the town, two soldiers in black military uniforms with rabbit ears on their heads noticed them.
Exchanging glances, they smirked and approached.
"The Rabbit Gang?"
After Yamcha swiftly dealt with the two foolish henchmen, Renkai finally recalled their identities.
He also became intrigued by their boss—a rabbit with the ability to turn people into carrots.
This rabbit's power was oddly similar to Majin Buu's ability to turn people into candy.
However, while the rabbit had to physically touch his target, Majin Buu only needed to fire a beam of magic.
A wicked thought crossed Renkai's mind.
If he acquired the rabbit's power, then when he faced Majin Buu in the future…
He could turn Buu into a carrot!
Jie Jie Jie!
