Chapter 1

Dane and I have been in love for seven years, and we're also the most outstanding partners in the organization.

During a mission, he was accidentally captured. I risked my life to rescue him, but he forgot about me.

He mistakenly believes his fiancée is his junior apprentice, Lily.

"How could I ever fall in love with such a rough woman like you? Only someone gentle like Lily is worth marrying."

Just as my heart was turning to ashes and I was about to give up, I found out I was pregnant. I wanted to share this good news with him,

But then I overheard Dane's subordinate joking,

"Dane, if the boss finds out you're not really amnesiac, she'll turn the organization upside down. Who knows what'll happen to your little wifey then."

"She'll never know. Once I've had my fun and I'm ready to settle down, I'll go back and sweet-talk her. Then we'll have our happily ever after."

My mind went blank. I voluntarily offered to exchange myself for the kidnapped Lily.

My archenemy, seeing me appear: "Dying for love, huh? Indra, is that all you're good for?"

Later, I perished in a sea of flames, and Dane went insane.

————————

Hearing Dane's teasing tone, my head spun, my chest ached, and I found it difficult to breathe.

I nearly lost my life trying to save Dane, and my left leg was almost severed. On the first night after his rescue, when he coldly asked me who I was, remembering everyone in the world except me, I didn't panic.

When he said he wanted to marry his junior, Lily, I didn't panic.

But now, learning that all of this was just a lie Dane had told, I stood there like a clown.

When I found out I was pregnant, I thought it was fate bringing us together. Clutching that piece of paper, I heard Lily's laughter from outside.

"This dress is beautiful, Dane. I want this one."

Lily tried on the dress I had custom-made to marry Dane. It clearly didn't fit her, so long it dragged on the ground.

Dane gently patted her head, "Alright, sweetie. Whatever you want, I'll get it for you."

The fire in my chest was burning. Before, I could use Dane's memory loss as an excuse not to get angry, but now I had no such reservations.

I limped inside and shouted angrily, "That's my dress. Take it off. You have no right to wear it."

"Indra, stop making a scene."Dane told me not to be so hostile, saying that since Lily liked it so much, he'd pay me whatever I wanted for it.

"Not for sale. It's mine, don't get it dirty," I replied coldly.

Lily's eyes immediately welled up with tears as she threw herself into Dane's arms, sobbing, "Indra, please don't be angry. I just thought it looked nice and..."

"Can't you be a little less petty?" Dane cut in. "We all know you're secretly in love with me and want to marry me, Indra. I never thought you'd be so shameless as to have a wedding dress already prepared."

"Have you been trying it on in private, fantasizing about marrying me?" he taunted.

Slap.

I struck him across the face, hissing under my breath, "This is top secret within the organization. You brought an outsider in without authorization. Go take your punishment. As for this whimpering little girl, you have three minutes to get out."

Dane knew full well he wasn't supposed to bring outsiders in, yet he kept making exceptions for Lily.

He smirked. "It's just thirty lashes, right? I'll take Lily's punishment for her."

Dane told me to go drink some herbal medicine to calm down. I clutched the report in my hand tightly as I turned to leave.

But suddenly Dane's men rushed over. I could have dodged, but Lily stuck her foot out and tripped me.

She covered her mouth in feigned shock, picking up the report that had fallen to the ground."Indra, are you pregnant?"

Lily's eyes revealed a mixture of shock and suggestiveness. She congratulated me and asked who the father of the child was.

"Could those previous rumors be true? They said Indra went to the enemy camp voluntarily because she was reconnecting with your arch-nemesis, and that you..."

The people around us fell silent. They all knew I went to rescue Dane, but Lily was blatantly spreading false rumors about me.

Saying I had a fling with our sworn enemy, selling my body to get them to release Dane.

I looked at Dane, who was pretending to have amnesia. He instinctively shielded Lily behind him, telling her not to speak recklessly.

"I'm just curious, you know. If it really is his child, we'd all be family after..."

"Enough!" I roared. "If you have so much time to gossip here, why don't you go take your punishment first? Next time you spread such rumors, I'll rip out your tongue."

With that, I snatched the report and left.

My mind was filled with memories of Dane holding me, telling me this job was too dangerous.

He said after this mission, we'd retire. He'd give me a grand wedding, and we'd have a child. The three of us would live happily ever after.I was an orphan from a young age. My longing for family affection and a home made me addicted, enveloped in this poisonous love that I drank to quench my thirst.

Even though I was strong enough, I still hit a brick wall, bloodied and battered, betrayed by the one I loved. Dane was never worthy of my goodness.
