Chapter 61 The Warlord's Fortress (Floor 47, The Siege Begins)

The fortress loomed ahead, its towering stone walls marked with the scars of countless battles. The air smelled of steel and blood, and in the distance, the rhythmic clang of weapons echoed through the battlefield.

Elias stood at the entrance, his breathing steady but his body still aching from the previous fight. His victory over Varian had been hard-won, but he knew this was just the beginning.

SYSTEM ALERT: CHALLENGER ELIAS

VAELTHORNE - FLOOR 47 UNLOCKED.] [NEW OBJECTIVE: BREACH THE WARLORD'S FORTRESS.]

A familiar voice rang through the air-a deep, commanding tone that seemed to shake the very ground beneath him.

"The strong do not wait at the gates. They storm them."

Elias narrowed his eyes. The next trial had begun.

The Battlefield

The moment Elias stepped forward, the battlefield shifted beneath his feet. The fortress's massive iron gates suddenly groaned open, revealing a legion of armored warriors inside.

Hundreds of soldiers-clad in gold and black armor, wielding spears, swords, and shields-stood in rigid formation. Their eyes glowed with divine energy, and the ground trembled as they marched forward in perfect synchronization.

At the front of the army stood a massive warrior, his armor adorned with the crest of Solmara, the Warlord Goddess. His eyes locked onto Elias, and he raised a warhammer the size of a boulder.

"Another challenger dares to step into the warfields?" His voice was filled with authority. "Then prove yourself in the fires of war."

With a single motion, he brought his warhammer down-

BOOM!

The ground shattered, and suddenly the entire army charged forward.

Elias clenched his fists, his silver eyes burning.

SYSTEM ALERT: ENEMY FORCES APPROACHING.] [OBJECTIVE: SURVIVE THE FIRST WAVE.]

A grin flickered across his lips.

"Let's see if you're worth my time."

The Battle Begins

As the first wave of warriors closed in, Elias didn't hesitate.

[SKILL ACTIVATED - PHANTOM STEP]

His body blurred, and he vanished, reappearing behind the first line of soldiers. Before they could react, his blade was already in motion.

[SKILL ACTIVATED - DEATH'S TOUCH]

Dark energy crackled along his weapon as he sliced through the first soldier's armor. The divine warrior let out a strangled gasp as the necrotic energy drained the life from his body, his golden glow fading as he collapsed.

The others surged forward, their spears thrusting toward him.

Elias ducked, then-

[SKILL ACTIVATED - PRIMAL ROAR]

A deafening shockwave erupted from his throat, sending warriors staggering backward as raw, beast-like energy tore through them. Those closest to him were thrown off their feet, crashing into their allies like dominoes.

Elias didn't stop.

[SKILL ACTIVATED - ELEMENTAL FURY]

A surge of blue lightning crackled through his sword as he slashed in an arc, releasing a bolt of pure electricity that ripped through the ranks of soldiers.

The golden-armored commander remained standing, watching his troops fall with narrowed eyes. Then, with a single step-

He was in front of Elias.

Faster than expected.

The warhammer swung toward his skull.

Elias barely had time to react before-

CRASH!

A shockwave sent him flying backward,

slamming into a broken pillar. His body ached

from the force of the attack, but he forced himself back up..

The commander rolled his shoulders. "You fight well, but can you endure?"

Elias spat out a bit of blood. His Rapid Regeneration was already working, but he knew this wasn't an opponent he could overpower easily.

This wasn't just about strength. This was war.

And war required strategy.

He exhaled sharply, gripping his sword tighter.

"Let's find out."
