The scattered beams of receding sunlight takes its final bow on the dusty, creaky floor of a wooden cottage. Darkness creeps up from the shadows, like a rising obsidian phoenix whose sole purpose is to swallow the sun. Night falls over the Imperial Palace Grounds of Ignaz.
Inside a dilapidated cottage, a boy sits in lotus position, lost in meditation.
His crimson red hair sways slightly in the gentle breeze. Sweat trickles down his brows, a stark reminder of the fact that cultivation is, by no means, easy. His white robe clings to his frame, heightening his discomfort.
Outside, a milky white owl hoots gravely.
Time flows by. The full moon rises, its pale scarred face beaming down on the world below.
The Church clock strikes twelve.
The boy's skin turns a blood red hue, a faint golden aura emanating from his figure. With thuds and crunches, his bones break, and a stronger, more firm skeletal system begins building itself. His muscles undergo rapid growth and his overall frame becomes considerably taller, leaner and sharper.
The boy grits his teeth and endures, simply because he doesn't have any other option.
As his transformation reaches a crescendo, his eyebrows twitch, and he opens his eyes. His left eye glows like a sapphire in the faint moonlight and his right resembles a blood red Kohinoor. His long red hair sways slightly in the cool breeze.
"At last, I've broken into Celestial World."
And thus Helios Raum Ignaz, the youngest prince of the Ignaz Empire became the first person in Ignaz to become an Archmage, among many other things.
Kicking the creaky door open, he steps out in the now deserted palace grounds bathed in moonlight. The sweet scent of wildflowers waft up in the air, invading his nostrils.
But the flowers aren't enough to hide the awful stench of sweat and blood scattered in the atmosphere.
"Let's see now. One, two, three, four ...… and five. Which fool had the balls to send five puny assassins to kill a man of my stature? Not that the fool had any means of knowing I am an ..... Well, let's not mention it."
A meter long sword qi emerges from his right hand, emitting a faint blue hue.
With a single swift step he appears directly in front of one of the assassins, greatly startling him. But before the unfortunate man could raise the cry of alarm, Helios's sword qi has already pierced through his heart.
The other assassins, each strong in their own right, could do nothing but stare open-mouthed as they saw their leader, the most feared assassin in the entire empire was felled by a mere twelve year old imperial bastard who is a well-known lout, or at least that's what the rumours say.
Helios raised his voice, sharply addressing the other four assassins deployed to kill him.
"Assassins deployed by Her Highness The Empress, I will give you two options.
1st option: I kill you.
2nd option: You become my slave.
Choose wisely, folks. You have just three seconds to decide."
