Pig

The restaurant was fancier than anything Sunny was used to.

Gold-trimmed walls, soft candlelight, expensive food that came in stupidly small portions.

Like why would anyone buy a single shrimp worth thousands of dollars?

It's pointless.

He didn't belong here, and he knew it.

They sat across from each other, the table between them set with pristine white cloth, delicate plates, and polished silverware.

Sunny wasn't nervous, but he was on edge.

The stares didn't help.

People glanced their way, eyes specifically on him for far too long.

He knew what they saw and what they were thinking.

'What's that kid doing to that woman?'

'Don't think kids are allowed in this restaurant.'

He shot them a glare to shut them off. Luckily for him, it worked as the stares dimmed with faint gulps.

But could he blame them?

A stunning, tall girl, with silvery white hair that flowed down to her middle back, and facial features that could compare to a goddess. She had wore a white dress that layed beneath her knees and a figure just outright outstanding.

And sitting across from her was...

A… man?, who's frame could be defined as a kid. He had raven black hair that fell to his shoulders, with his bangs overextending to his eyes as he constantly had to readjust them. His eyes, distinction of his hair, was also the same color of black.

Nephis, of course, didn't care. She was smiling, taking a sip from her wine glass, watching him.

Sunny's concern grew as she had already finished a whole bottle of wine. She quietly exclaimed that this 'wine' tasted extremely good

may or may not be foreshadowing

"You're uncomfortable," she said.

Sunny exhaled. "They're staring."

Nephis raised an eyebrow. "You stare at me all the time."

"That's different."

"Mm." She tilted her head, amused. "You know, you were quite bold yesterday."

Sunny frowned. "What?"

"You teased me. A lot. Even so far as grabbing my beh-"

"Shut up…"

Heat warmed up his cheeks, he turned his head to the side and quietly muttered.

"Fufu~ Why are you getting all of a sudden flustered?" Nephis said, covering her mouth with her forefingers.

He was taken aback by her sudden attitude.

'Fufu? Why does she seem so… different? She almost looks… drowsy.'

"Because it was embarrassing for me to do that." He firmly answered, regaining his resolve and hoping to shut down this topic, but a thought spills out his mouth before he could take it back.

"Are you trying to get back at me?"

"I wouldn't say that." Nephis leaned forward slightly. "Just curious. Will you be as bold tonight?" She smiled, looking at him.

'..Who is this?'

His fingers tapped against the table. "If you want me to be bold."

Nephis rested her chin on her hand.

"Expected, you always do it when I least expect it. Now I'm wondering if you can do it on command."

Sunny huffed. "That takes all the fun out of it."

Before Nephis could respond, a shadow loomed over their table.

A large man.

Gods, no—

Way too large.

His clothes were expensive and clearly didn't fit his oval stomach, his fingers were equipped with rings - that could be some type of memory - and his face was round with indulgence.

He reeked of arrogance. Just one look at him, he already know he was going to be trouble.

Sunny already didn't like him.

The ogre smiled at Nephis, completely ignoring him.

"My lady, or rather, Changing Star." he said, voice dripping with fake charm.

"What a pleasant surprise. I don't believe we've met."

Nephis' expression turned blank. "We haven't."

"Then allow me to introduce myself." The man bowed slightly. "Lord Varnel. I must say, it's rare to see someone as radiant as yourself dining here alone."

Sunny clenched his jaw.

'Can I kill him? I mean it's justified right? No one will care for this pig.' He may have not realized the twisting knot in his chest.. as the feeling of jealousy.

He wanted to be possessive, and not let anyone take what was his.

Nephis glanced at him, then back at the noble. "I'm not alone."

Varnel let out a chuckle. "Ah. Of course. But surely, you'd enjoy better company." His smile widened.

"Why don't you join my table? I have the finest wine, the best conversation. I promise, it will be worth your while."

Externally, Sunny looked somewhat fine, the only noticeable difference was his scrunched eyebrows.

Internally, though, he was planning different ways of torturing him.

Nephis, on the other hand, stayed calm. "No, thank you."

The noble's smile faltered.

His gaze flicked to Sunny, as if finally noticing him. "Ah." He snorted, like a pig.

"You're dining with… him?"

Nephis' eyes sharpened. "Yes."

Varnel laughed. "Come now, my lady. Surely, you see the difference. You belong with those who match your eloquence."

Yet again, he gestured at the table.

"Not with…" He waved vaguely at Sunny.

"…whatever this is."

'Huh?! This wretched cursed man just called me an it? I'll kill him. No, I'll torture him.'

He leaned back in his chair, studying the man.

Deciding to not show so much on the outside, he remained calm.

"You talk too much."

Varnel blinked.

Then sneered. "Excuse me?"

Nephis tensed.

Sunny tilted his head. "Are you deaf? I said you talk too much."

The noble's face darkened. "How dare you-"

Nephis sighed. "Darnel, leave."

Varnel's eye twitched. "You don't even remember my name?" He laughed as if in shock.

"..Oh, was it warnel?" Nephis asked.

"Maybe his name should just be pig." Sunny added.

Carmel blinded with rage, his first instinct to hurt the man.

(not a typo, i put carmel)

"Y-You! You bastard!"

He picked up his wine glass and tossed the contents straight at Sunny.

The dark red liquid splashed across his chest, staining his shirt.

The restaurant fell silent.

Sunny sat there, completely still. His jaw clenched.

His fingers twitched. Every single part of him screamed to tear this man apart.

But Nephis was already moving. She stepped in front of him, eyes locked onto… whatever.

Though, she did not step up to warn him since she was angry. No, she was simply protecting the noble guy from Sunny.

The shadows stirred in the room, the light growing darker as if a cloud had blocked the sun.

The entire room felt smaller, quieter, charged with something dangerous.

The noble smirked, thinking he had won.

His arms was positioned in a way he would ba able to summon a memory.

His weapon would appear in his hand in an instant.

He could cut this man down before anyone even realized what happened.

Nephis saw it. She knew.

Before he could move, a waiter appeared beside them, completely calm. "Sir. Lady. We must ask you to leave."

'Tch.'

Sunny exhaled sharply. His rage simmered, but he forced himself to let go of the tension.

Nephis touched his arm. A silent request.

He grabbed her hand.

Then, without another word, he pulled her with him, stepping out of the restaurant, away from the staring eyes.

They walked in silence, down the street, past the buildings, until they reached an open field.

Grass stretched under the moonlight, the air cool and quiet.

Finally, Sunny stopped.

Nephis looked at him, waiting.

His shirt was still wet with wine. His hands were still clenched. His jaw was tight.

Nephis crossed her arms. "You almost killed him."

Sunny exhaled. "Yes."

"I had to stop you."

"You did."

She studied him. "Are you still angry?"

Sunny's grip tightened. "Yes."

Nephis stepped closer. "Why?"

His eyes flashed. "Because he disrespected you… And I was jealous."

Nephis tilted her head, but then a grin spread across her face.

"Aww~ Sunny is jealous.." She smiled wryly as she stepped closer to Sunny. Her eyes had this deep passion for something, this yearning for something.

'…Something is wrong with her.' He took in her appearance to see a wine bottle on her right hand that she had taken.

'Oh..'

.

'She's drunk.'
