Hideout

I followed the same trail we followed and came to the clearing. The gang of thieves were still there but it seem that they were preparing to leave.

"I didn't know we would meet so soon Lady Nobody" Liam said.

"Whatever" I muttered.

"How secured is your hideout ?" I asked him.

"What is your business with the security of our hideout ?" the girl that tried to attack me before asked glaring at me.

I ignored her said to Liam " I need to talk to you privately".

"We are kind of busy now" the same girl said.

"Do you have a problem with me" I asked the girl.

"Yes I hate you because you are so rude and arrogant and I want to kill you" she spat.

The foul smell that was coming out of her mouth was so unbearable that I wondered if it was decaying.

"That's enough " Liam said to her.

"Go and help others to pack the tools I will get back to you" he added

She left but not without giving me a death glare.

"Don't be offended she hates noble people" Liam explained.

"I don't care" I replied.

"I want to stay in your hideout for a while" I told him my intentions.

"Why ?" he asked.

"Because I insulted a very powerful noble family and now they after my life" I replied.

"I don't believe you" he said.

"That is the truth" I said.

"Even if you stay in our hideout for a while, how do you repay us?" he asked.

"I will do anything you asked me to do" I promised.

"Really ?" he asked looking surprised.

"Yes" I replied.

"Well I just heard from my men that you knocked down every men that Bill sent to attack you" he said.

"Who the hell is Bill ?" I asked.

"The man you came with" he replied.

"So that means you would be joining us to steal since you are strong" he added.

"No I am not joining you guys, never !" I said.

"Then find somewhere else and hide" he said and starts to walk away.

"I will do it" I said and he stopped in his tracks.

"What did you just said ?" he asked.

"I am not really good with repeating what I said" I replied. 

"I am so sorry but I didn't get what you said please repeat" he pleaded.

"I said I will do it" I repeated.

"Hurray" he said jumping up.

"Stupid dimwit" I thought in my mind.

"Come let me show you where you will stay till we come back" he said.

"No I am going with you guys" I said.

"You are staying here and that is final" he said.

"No" I disagreed.

"I am your leader now so you should listen to me or find somewhere else and stay" he said.

"OK fine take me to the place" I said giving in.

He led me out of the clearing to the part of the forest which was dense.

"Where are you taking me ?" I asked.

"No need to be afraid, you are in safe hands" he replied.

"Safe hands my foot" I muttered and tried to jump a big tree root but I hit my leg on the root and lost my balance.

I was expecting to fall on the ground but a strong muscular hand held me and stopped me from falling.

"You see safe hands" Laim said looking down at me.

"Let me go" I said and he pulled me up.

"You see My Lady with me, you are always safe" he said.

"Don't you ever touch me again even if I wanted to fall" I warned.

"Yes My Lady" he replied.

We kept walking until we arrived at a place where small hut made with wood are.

"Is this where you all live ?" I asked.

"Yes, we call it our settlement" he replied.

He went to one of the hut and knocked on the door, a lady carrying a baby and was breastfeeding the baby opened the door.

"Geez, Mary cover up !" Liam exclaimed covering his eyes.

"Sorry" the lady said and adjusted her cloth.

"Have you covered up ?" Liam asked still covering his eyes.

"Yes, I have" she replied.

Liam then opened his eyes, "please I want her to spend the night in your hut' he said.

"Oh that's fine, she can come in" the lady replied.

" Since it is all sorted out, see you tomorrow, Lady Elena" he added and walked away.

Chapter 7

"Wait so you are not Liam's wife ? but I think he wants to make you his. How he looks at you, I haven't seen him look at other girls like that" she said.

"That is not happening, believe me" I said.

"OK" she replied.

"So is there anything you want to do ?" she asked.

"I just want to sleep" I replied.

"OK let me take my baby to his bed so that you can sleep" she said and took her baby out of the bed to his cot.

I laid on the bed and closed my eyes and slept. Sound of people singing woke me up, Mary and her baby was not in the room. I opened the door and came out of the hut, the once empty settlement were filled with men, women and children and they were singing for the men that went to steal.

They carried their leader up and was hailing him, he saw me and told them to bring him down which they did.

He came to me and asked "how are you doing My Lady ?".

"My name is Elena, stop calling me that" I said.

"Yo ! our leader has gotten a very beautiful girl as his wife !" one of the men shouted.

"No she is not my wife !" Liam shouted back.

"She is a new member of us" he added.

"Introduce yourself" he said to me.

I went to the center to make sure I had all their attentions.

"Listen up everyone, my name is Elena and I would be joining you guys as a temporary member" I said.

"You can never be one of us, that is not right" the girl I had an encounter with before said.

"You have no right to decide who can be a member or not, Pip" Liam said to her.

"Wait, Pip is your name ? what a horrible name for a horrible person" I said to her.
