Entranced

As the charity event unfolded, I found myself engrossed in conversation with Mr. Venon. We delved into the intricacies of construction materials and the project's details. His vast knowledge and experience proved invaluable, and I was grateful to have him on board.

The evening wore on, and the guests mingled, adorned in their finest attire. My gaze wandered across the room, taking in the sea of elegant dresses and tailored suits. That's when I saw her – the goddess who had captivated me.

She stood out like a gem amidst the crowd, her backless red gown accentuating her flawless skin. Her hair was styled in a sleek bun, and a silver necklace glinted under the chandelier's lights. Her face was a work of art, with lips now tinted a deep red. She exuded an aura of confidence and poise, leaving me breathless.

I gulped, unaware of my reaction, as I found myself transfixed by her beauty. Mr. Venon's deep chuckle broke the spell, and I felt my ears grow hot.

"I see you've already been entranced by that beauty over there," he said, his eyes twinkling with amusement.

I shook my head, trying to play it cool. "Oh, I'm just admiring her from afar."

Mr. Venon patted my back. "Do you have a girlfriend that you don't want to talk to her?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.

I shook my head. "No, where did that come from?"

He grinned. "Good, then go talk to her."

I sighed, feeling a push from Mr. Venon. I stood up, adjusted my suit, and made my way towards her.

As I approached, she turned to face me, her eyes locking onto mine. I smiled, feeling a spark of connection.

"Umm... do you mind if I interrupt?" I asked, nodding towards the lady she was conversing with.

The lady glared at me, her eyes narrowing. "And who are you?" she asked, her tone dripping with disdain. "What do you want?"

"I'm sorry to interrupt," I said. "I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Julian."

The goddess smiled, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "I'm Lexi," she said, extending her hand.

I took her hand, feeling a jolt of electricity. "Nice to meet you, Lexi."

The lady raised an eyebrow. "I'm Lila, Lexi's friend."

I nodded, feeling a sense of understanding. "Nice to meet you both."

Lila looked me up and down before turning back to Lexi. "So, Lexi, what do you think of the charity event?"

Lexi smiled. "I think it's great. The cause is wonderful, and it's nice to see so many people supporting it."

Lila chimed in, a mischievous glint in her eye. "Of course, it's great. Lexi was the event planner, after all."

Lexi blushed, looking embarrassed. "Oh, Lila, don't mention it."

I raised an eyebrow, impressed. "No wonder everything looks so perfect. You did an amazing job, Lexi."

Lexi smiled, looking pleased. "Thank you, Julian. That means a lot coming from you."

As we chatted, I found myself drawn to Lexi's warmth and kindness. Lila, on the other hand, seemed determined to keep me at arm's length.

Despite Lila's initial hostility, I found myself enjoying the conversation. Lexi's laughter was infectious, and I found myself smiling more and more as the evening wore on.

As the night drew to a close, I realized that I didn't want it to end. I wanted to spend more time with Lexi, to get to know her better.

"Would you like to grab coffee with me sometime?" I asked, feeling a sense of hope.

Lexi smiled, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "I'd love to."

I grinned, feeling elated. "Great, I'll pick you up tomorrow at 2 pm?"

Lexi nodded, and we exchanged numbers.

As I walked Lexi and Lila out of the gala, I felt a sense of excitement and anticipation. I knew that this was just the beginning of something special.

We said our goodbyes, and I watched as Lexi disappeared into the night, feeling grateful for the chance encounter.

As I made my way back to my car, I couldn't help but smile. Tonight had been a night to remember, and I knew that Lexi would be a part of my life for a long time to come.
