Too much

I flopped onto my bed, exhausted from the charity event. Lila, my best friend, plopped down beside me, a mischievous glint in her eye. We were having a sleepover, and I was excited to spend some quality time with my friend.

As we chatted, I began to remove my heels, wiggling my toes in relief. Lila followed suit, kicking off her shoes and pulling off her dress. She was wearing a pair of comfy pajama shorts and a crop top underneath.

"I still can't believe he did that," she said, wiggling her eyebrows as she pulled off her earrings.

I raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Did what?"

Lila gestured dramatically. "He ignored all those other women and headed straight for us. That's like, a million-dollar move right there."

I chuckled, shaking my head. "You're being dramatic, Lila."

But Lila was undeterred. "I'm serious, Lexi. He's interested in you. I can tell."

I rolled my eyes, trying to remove my makeup. Lila handed me a wipe, and I began to clean off my face.

"Please, I'm sure he's just another player," I said. "He's probably got a different girl in every city."

Lila snorted. "You're just saying that because of Michael."

I frowned, feeling a pang of unease. Michael, my boyfriend, had been ignoring me all day. I had tried texting and calling him, but he hadn't responded.

"I'm just saying that I'm not interested in Julian," I said, trying to sound convincing.

Lila raised an eyebrow. "Save it, Lexi. I know you too well. You're intrigued by him, and you can't deny it."

I sighed, feeling a bit frustrated. Lila knew me too well.

"Even if I was interested, which I'm not," I said, "I have a boyfriend. Remember?"

Lila chuckled. "Oh, you mean Michael? The one who's been ignoring you all day?"

I glared at her, feeling a bit defensive. "He's probably just busy. He'll call me later."

Lila scoffed. "Too busy for you? Listen, babe, if I was your boyfriend, I'd leave the world behind for you. That dude doesn't deserve you."

I rolled my eyes, feeling a bit annoyed. Lila was always like this, always looking out for me, but sometimes she could be a bit too much.

As we continued to chat, we both changed into comfortable pajamas. I pulled on a pair of soft shorts and a tank top, while Lila wore a pair of fuzzy socks and a cozy sweatshirt.

We climbed into bed, snuggling under the blankets. Lila turned on the TV, and we watched a rom-com, giggling and chatting throughout the movie.

As the night wore on, I couldn't help but think about Julian. Despite Lila's warnings, I found myself feeling drawn to him. There was something about him that seemed different, something that made me want to get to know him better.

As I drifted off to sleep, I couldn't help but wonder what would happen if I took a chance on Julian. Would he turn out to be just like all the other guys .

I was still buzzing from the charity event. Mrs. Hilliard, a stylish 36-year-old woman, walked up to me with a warm smile.

"That was a huge success, and many people loved how it was planned," she said. "Even Mr. Blackhood donated eleven million dollars to the organization."

I grinned, feeling proud of myself. "I love that you liked it, and everyone else loved it too," I said. "It was my pleasure to satisfy you."

Mrs. Hilliard chuckled and held my hands. "Come on, don't be so formal with me," she said. "How about we grab lunch later?"

I smiled, feeling happy to spend time with my friend. "Um... sure, if that's what you want," I said.

Mrs. Hilliard smiled and giggled. "I'm so excited that everything went well," she said. "Okay, see you later."

As she walked out the door, Lila walked in, looking stylish in her YSL heels. "Wow, looks like someone is excited," she said, eyeing me curiously.

I chuckled and shook my head. "Who wouldn't be? Someone donated eleven million dollars to the charity event," I said, walking over to the archive register.

Lila's eyes widened in surprise. "What? That's amazing!" she exclaimed. "She told you herself?"

I nodded, smiling. "Yeah, she did."

Lila sat down on the couch, looking impressed. "Wow, who's the person?" she asked.

I grinned. "Someone named Mr. Blackhood."

Lila gasped, looking like she was about to faint. "No way!" she exclaimed. "Mr. Blackhood is the most richest, sophisticated businessman... he's not a playboy, and he keeps his personal life low-key."

I raised an eyebrow, amused. "And he's your dream man?" I teased.

Lila nodded, looking dreamy. "Yeah, he is."

I chuckled and shook my head. "You're so crazy, Lila."

Lila grinned. "Hey, someone's got to keep things interesting around here."

As we chatted, I realized that I was really looking forward to lunch with Mrs. Hilliard. It would be nice to relax and catch up with her outside of work.

"Hey, do you know anything about Mr. Blackhood?" Lila asked, curiosity getting the better of her.

I shook my head. "Not really... just that he's some kind of business mogul."

Lila nodded. "Yeah, that's what I've heard too."

As we wrapped up our conversation, I felt grateful for my friends and the fun times we had together. Lunch with Mrs. Hilliard was going to be a blast!

The rest of the day flew by quickly. Before I knew it, it was time to head home.

As I walked out of the office with Lila, I felt happy and content. It had been a great day, and I was looking forward to seeing what the future held.

"Hey, thanks for being such a great friend, Lila," I said, as we hugged goodbye.

Lila grinned. "Anytime, Lexi. That's what friends are for."
