Port City (1)

Chapter 70: Port City 1

With Abir's help, the group managed to reach a Port City where they could rent a boat.

With the guidance of my savior, we managed to get close to our destination. In the distance you can see the ocean and some ships. Perhaps because it is squeezed between continents, the sea is calm and there are no waves.

"Well, that's all for now. I wish you good luck. And, boy, take good care of them."

With that, Abir returned the way he came. I thanked him and left.

As we approached the city, the smell of salt water and fish began to fill the air with the sea breeze. I called a man who looked like a fisherman who was nearby to ask about a boat that would take us to the other side.

"Um, is there a boat that can take me there? I want to get there."

I showed the man the map that Filiana had.

"Ah, I'm going there, so get in. Is it just you and the girl next to you?"

He probably thinks it's just me and Sharin. Just to be safe, everyone else is waiting outside and hasn't entered the city.

"Um, no, I have several others with me, is that okay?"

The man nodded in response to my words, saying that it was fine. However, later, when he sees everyone together, his face turns pale.

"Ah, that's a bit of a problem. If that happens, the other customers will run away."

"Please, please, do something about it. These girls are not bad people. They will behave."

I desperately tried to convey to them that they were honest and sensible people. Perhaps because I arrived in this world recently, I don't really understand the difference between the races that humans despise and those that they don't.

Sharin also joined the persuasion and, thanks to that, we managed to board the ship.

"Yay, it's Piyo's first time on a boat!"

As soon as we got on, Piyo started making noise, so I held her, put the luggage on the floor and we sat down. Perhaps because we were on board, there weren't many other passengers on board.

"What kind of place was the world where Hiro came from?"

Filiana, who had also dropped her bag and lay down, asked a question. Thinking about it, I don't think I talked much with her.

I explained the whole story so far. Then Filiana and Pauline gave me sad and sympathetic looks.

"I understand, that must be lonely. Being alone in an unknown place..."

"I couldn't stand being alone."

I told them that everything would be fine now because everyone was with me. Strangely, I don't feel that anxious now. However, I am aware that I am unconsciously trying not to think about it too much...
