Valeska wanted to ignore Misha and just be on her own, but it seemed the latter had made it her top priority to belittle her whenever they saw each other.
Surprisingly, Misha pulled out a chair and sat opposite Valeska who thought the girl was going to leave soon.
"You do know my mate is the alpha of a reputable pack right?" Misha questioned with a grin tugged on the corners of her lips. "I actually came here with him to help find his brother a mate."
Of course, Valeska was aware of the pack Misha was the Luna to. It was the Ashen Wolves pack. They were said to be very fierce and agile in battle with the ferals, rogues, and even vampires, and they've won all of the battles so their pack was respected by everyone.
"He takes care of me, and do you know the sweetest part of having a mate?" Misha questioned, staring intently at Valeska while the latter tried to avoid her gaze. "I don't have to suffer while I'm in heat."
As if there was a remote control on Valeska, she felt her panties drench in her juices. It was completely unexpected. Ignoring all the other words Misha was spouting, she fetched her phone from her bag and checked the date.
"Fuck!!" Valeska could see that Misha was offended by her curse word. She couldn't bring herself to care at all.
'I'm in heat,' she thought to herself, goosebumps rising on her skin.
"How dare you curse at me like that?" Misha questioned, aggravated this time around, but Valeska still ignored her as she rummaged through her back, searching for her anti-suppressant.
When she couldn't find it, she cursed under her breath once again and now, Misha was boiling with rage. "You're cursing at the Luna of Ashen Wolves pack. Do you not know how to show any respect anymore?"
"I'm not cursing at you, Misha," Valeska replied. She intended to get up but Misha held her back, glaring at her very intently.
"I'll tell my alpha about this—"
"You know what, do whatever you want. I don't have time for this," Valeska cut her off, yanking her wrist from Misha's grip before kicking off her heels, and heading for her restroom.
As soon as Valeska got to the restroom, she dropped her bag and quickly washed her face. Thankfully, she wasn't wearing any makeup, so she didn't worry about messing up anything.
As if the search earlier hadn't been enough, she dipped her hands into her bag and searched for her anti-suppressants once again. However, it still couldn't be found.
"I should have looked at the date," she cried. She could sense that her body was starting to feel different as her panties drenched in her juices. Her cunt started to ache with need, and her feet gave in. She slumped, suddenly on the ground.
She could sense her pheromones all over the place.
Since she came of age and didn't have any mates, she'd been using anti-suppressants to suppress her pheromones that could attract both feral and rogue werewolves. It had happened once in the past, and Lucius was the one who came to her rescue and then handed over the anti-suppressants for her to use.
There were several werewolves out there, and she'd offended Misha unintentionally.
"This is not my night at all," Valeska mumbled, wiping her face clean.
She got back on her feet that shook like jelly now. She would reek up the place and attract werewolves she didn't want to attract at all.
If only she would find her mate right now, she wouldn't worry about anything.
Valeska left the restroom and went in search of her mother. She couldn't stay there any longer.
As she walked, Valeska could feel the glances behind her. The werewolves had already caught a whiff of her pheromones, and their expressions twisted in disgust, as if her very presence offended them.
All of a sudden, Valeska bumped into a hard chest that was just as hard as a rock. She stumbled back slightly to catch her bearings.
Her eyes landed on the person. He was massive, towering her with a height of 6'3. Valeska had to crane her neck to look at him properly, and he seemed to be the most handsome man she'd ever met all her life.
Until it dawned on her, the person standing in front of her wasn't an ordinary werewolf from an ordinary pack.
She recognized him.
He was the Alpha of the Emberwood Pack—the strongest pack to ever exist.
He was Nevian Ashbourne.
A rosy hue formed on Valeska's cheeks as she felt herself blushing in front of the last person she wanted to be blushing in front of, unless she wanted her head rolling on the ground.
His green eyes landed on her, and she felt her panties drench even further.
He sized her up like she was a little pest, and took a step towards her that led her to instinctively take one step backwards.
He was starting to intrude in her personal space, and that wasn't normal.
"I'm sorry for bumping into you. I'll be leaving now," Valeska said in a rush and she bowed her head a few times before disappearing from his sight.
Nevian Ashbourne stared at her figure disappearing into the midst of the crowds. He closed his eyes, reminiscing the scent that was starting to turn faint before he opened his eyes, his green eyes darkening.
"Mate," he said.
When Valeska arrived at where her parents were with Amora, she'd already run out of breath.
"Mother, I need to leave now," she said.
Aurora glared at her, her nose scrunching in disgust.
"Why didn't you come with your anti-suppressants?" She questioned. Before Valeska could part her lips to respond, Aurora interrupted her. "You're not leaving here until you find a mate, so continue searching. Perhaps your pheromones can help this time."
