Mate

"Why didn't you come with your anti-suppressants?" She questioned. Before Valeska could part her lips to respond, Aurora interrupted her. "You're not leaving here until you find a mate, so continue searching. Perhaps your pheromones can help this time."

Valeska couldn't believe what her mother was saying. She looked at her stepfather and Amora, and they seemed to be in support of what she was saying.

"Who knows, maybe it's because you've been using those anti-suppressants for a while that no werewolf has been attracted to you yet. Hopefully, you'll bump into someone that will turn out to be your mate tonight." Roberto's words made her recall she'd bumped into Nevian Ashbourne just a while back and she wondered if she should inform them about it.

He didn't look offended by her actions after all.

Valeska looked at Amora, and the latter immediately shook her head.

"Even if I brought my anti-suppressants with me, I'm not giving it to you," said Amora.

"Once you're able to secure a mate, you can finally be out of our lives," said Aurora.

Without wasting a single moment, they left her once again.

Valeska felt her heart shatter at her mother's words. Each time, it would open wounds she wished would completely close and for the scars to fade.

Valeska brought out her phone and sent a text to Lucius. He replied within a second, promising to get her an anti-suppressant as soon as possible.

He couldn't come to the annual mating moon ball because he'd been handling a matter in their pack after one of their members was found dead with two bite marks on the neck.

Valeska decided the best place to wait for Lucius would be somewhere far from the werewolves, in the garden.

Whenever she passed a few male werewolves, they looked like they were ready to devour her right there and then.

Valeska took a seat, but her peace was short-lived when she saw Misha searching around with a man beside her.

Valeska didn't bother to hide, she would be found out anyway.

"There she is," Misha said with a scowl as she headed towards Valeska with her mate, the alpha of the Ashen Wolves.

"You dare curse at my mate. Do you know how offensive that is? I heard you're wolfless, so you can't shift. You're a weakling," Zale, Misha's mate, mocked. However, his nose crinkled when he inhaled her pheromones.

It was sweet, unbelievably sweet, unlike anything he'd ever smelled before. The temptation to step closer, to catch the scent directly from its source, was almost irresistible.

Misha noticed something was off with her mate, so she immediately held him by the hand, glaring at him.

"What do you think you are doing? You're supposed to punish her for insulting your Luna and you're just staring at her?" Then she turned to Valeska who'd been quiet since. "You dare seduce my alpha."

"Misha, I don't have time for any of your shenanigans. I told you earlier I didn't curse at you, but you wanted to bring all attention to yourself. Now look," Valeska pointed behind them.

The other werewolves were already looking at them. Most of the males are salivating and ready to bounce on Valeska, including Zale.

"It's obvious your mate is infatuated with my pheromones. Now, if you don't leave before it's too late, I might just let him take me right here and now. Imagine that—you, the Luna who lost her mate to her wolfless, former best friend. What a laughing stock you'd be." Valeska's words dripped like venom, her gaze sharp and unwavering as she tilted her head with a smirk that cut deeper than any claw.

Valeska was well aware that Misha despised anyone touching what was hers.

"Now tell me, wouldn't that be amazing, Misha?" Valeska asked. Zale was looking at her like he was in a trance, his member already bulging in his pants.

Misha was greatly embarrassed now as the faint conversations from other werewolves filled the air.

How could the alpha of a powerful pack be easily seduced by the pheromones of a deviant bitch?

Out of rage, she reached out to hit Valeska, however, before her hands could touch the latter's cheeks, it was stopped midair by a hand 10x stronger than hers.

Misha looked up at the man who towered above her, and instantly, she choked on her saliva.

She recognized him. It was Nevian Ashbourne, and he didn't seem happy with her.

He threw her hand away and she stumbled back on her heels.

Valeska immediately stood up from her seat in shock as she watched Misha nearly fall to the ground, but Zale did nothing to help her at all. His eyes were still on Valeska.

Although Valeska enjoyed using the situation to her benefit to disrespect Misha, Zale's gaze was starting to make her skin crawl uncomfortably.

"Scram," Nevian said, his deep voice firm, sending a bolt of electricity to pass through Valeska's spine.

Zale was able to get his senses back, and he quickly left the garden. The rest also went back to their business when they saw Nevian.

Valeska thought it was her cue to leave too, but her arm was suddenly grabbed by him, stopping her in her tracks.

The place where his hand was touched made butterflies circle in her stomach for an unknown reason.

"You, stay," Nevian said, enveloping her in a hug as he buried his head in her neck, sniffing her pheromones that clouded his brain at that moment, making it difficult for him to think.

Meanwhile, Valeska was shocked by Nevian's actions, but she did nothing to stop him. Her arms circled him, trying to hug him tighter than he was doing.

Then all of a sudden, his lips crushed against hers. It was soft and tasted like mint. She was shocked but there was no time to dwell on what they were doing to each other.

Her cunt ached once more and she felt his knee between her legs, preventing her from rubbing her legs together as he hit the spot for her instead.
