Doctor (Mass Release)

January 6th, 2025. 11:40 PM

Vashora City. Aswin Hospital.

Maya's room is as quiet as ever. Raj with constant pleading and a hefty additional pay, arranged for two additional beds in that large room. Raj and his wife are sitting on the bed adjacent to the window. His wife, a woman in her late twenties, with caramel complexion and long brown hair, is wearing a long skirt with a white sweater.

She leaned on his shoulder as Raj worked on his laptop. She occasionally glanced at Maya and then at the laptop screen.

"Did you get all the data from the Blackdog? Are there any leads there?" She asked.

"There is one lead, a very important one," Raj said as he pressed a few keys, a profile opened up on the screen, revealing a picture. His wife saw it and was stunned.

"This guy is also involved?"

"Yes, this is kind of the only lead left at the moment. The previous flagged account that we found out belongs to Blackdog. They were using it as their business account to maintain under-the-table transactions of their company.

Once I got my hands on that, I managed to find out the hidden links in Maya's case. More than the police, this guy will have more information on his hands."

"Can we get to the guy who mediated the deal through him?"

"No, we will have a better shot at him through the higher-ups in the police. The secret owner of this Blackdog, it very well might be him."

"I am guessing his name isn't on the company information."

"Of course, these guys are pros. They are using the name of a dead guy. But I believe that is also a lead."

"A lead?"

"Yeah, check this out."

Raj opened a different profile and his wife was stunned even more.

"A deceased soldier? They are using a deceased soldier's name to run the shady company?"

"Yes. He was in the same squad as the Blackdog's current CEO. The secret owners, we might have a clue if we interrogate that CEO."

"It took a whole day to move them? What is happening?"

"There are a bunch of local politicians and prosecutors getting involved. It took a lot of time for us to push back.

Whoever the person behind this is, he has some real pull across the government. There was even some resistance from the central government. I had to use our team's name to push them back."

"That is serious." His wife replied.

"Yeah. But the lead with the financial trail ends there. Unless we get some information from the CEO and the other Blackdog employees, we won't have much to work on. I was thinking if you should take up the interrogation…"

"Hold that thought…"

She got up and started walking towards the door.

"Dia." Raj called out to her, but she just gestured for him to stop and opened the door.

"Nice to meet you guys. Are those the usual gifts you carry when you visit someone at a hospital? Poor taste."

Three people stood at the door. One wearing a janitor uniform, one wearing a nurse's uniform, and the last one wearing the security uniform.

The guy in the security guard's uniform who was crouching down and was about to pick the lock was the most surprised by the sudden opening of the door.

The two of them are holding handguns with silencers, while the security guard had his gun in the holster. Before they could react….

Dia tapped her shoe on the ground, a small blade popped out of the front and she kicked up the security guard, in the throat.

The other two were about to shoot, but in close range, she acted faster. She grabbed a hold of the first guy's gun, pulled up a knife from behind his back, and stabbed the second one in the arm, making them both lose their guns.

In one fluid motion, she pulled the knife and stabbed the first one in the neck, followed by the second. All three died in a second.

She took out her handkerchief and wiped the blood off her knife. There wasn't even a single drop of blood on her white sweater.

"You were saying something, honey."

She nonchalantly walked back and snuggled with her husband.

"I am saying, it is about time you make a comeback and deal with the interrogation of these people. To get the truth out of them."

"I am out of action for a while, but sure. I do like to see how long these newbies can hold it up."

"Newbies? That guy got discharged when you were just beginning your service."

"Even better. Always wanted to crack an old nut."

At that moment, three more people arrived at the door. Two of them were wearing similar outfits to Raj. Just some casual jeans and shirts. The middle one is wearing the doctor's coat. He was being dragged in by the other two.

"Throw him in and clean that up."

Raj casually said. The two of them threw the doctor inside and locked the door before they started cleaning up the scene.

Raj looked at the doctor.

"Dr. Stevens.

I checked your profile. You come from a family of doctors. You are filthy rich.

So, I want to know why you need to dirty yourselves on the plight of a young lady."

"What…"

"Don't bother trying to play dumb. You got paid exactly two and a half million to do the dirty deed. What I want to know is who contacted you regarding this and what exactly you did."

"You…"

"Before you say it. Do keep in mind that I am an extremely dangerous man who works for a man who is a human form of danger itself."

"Yo..you can't do this to me."

"Trust me, I can. And I really really want to. It is up to you if you want to make it easy for yourself."

Raj's tone got colder with every passing second.

The doctor was about to stutter more nonsense but at that moment…

*RING* *RING*

The doctor's phone rang. When he saw his wife's number, he was stunned and his blood turned cold. He started sweating, with his white doctor's coat almost getting drenched.

He picked up the phone with the wintry dread gripping his heart.

"H..Honey." He spoke. But there was no reply.

"Just answer the questions Doc." That is the only answer that he got. The doctor collapsed on the spot. Tears streaked down his face.

"See Doctor, me and my boss… we are not in the business of killing and torturing innocent people. Much less innocent women and children. But I know what my Boss is and for that girl lying on that bed, he will kill every man, woman, and child, guilty and innocent, with his bare hands, just too see a smile on her face.

So, whatever you did, whatever you did, you better reveal it right now."

The doctor finally broke down.

Fifteen minutes later.

Raj called Ayaan.

January 7th, 12:15 AM

Ayaan came out of the shower to pick up Raj's call.

"Sir, I went through the Black Dog files. The red flag account used to settle the police in Maya's case belongs to them. They handle their shady dealings through that. But we couldn't find the hidden boss of the Black Dog.

All the people captured in the six branches of Black Dog are being flown over in special flights. They will be in Vashora by this afternoon.

So, I am hoping we can find something after interrogating the CEO. Dia agreed to do the questioning."

"Is she fine with coming back?"

"Yes. Don't worry about it."

"Good. Anything else?"

"After going through the accounts, I found a transaction. Dr. Stevens in charge of Maya's case is also involved in this.

He is right now in front of me, in Maya's room."

Ayaan took a deep breath.

"Did he have any information? Any details of the mediator?"

"Apparently, IGP was the one who talked him into this. They are old friends.

As for the information. We have it."

Raj paused with hesitation. Because the information obtained, made his blood boil. He barely knew Maya, but even he was able to barely hold back from flying into a rage. So, he can only imagine what it will do to Ayaan. What it will make him do.

Sensing the hesitation, Ayaan took a deep breath and said.

"I am coming."

He cut the call before Raj could reply. He got dressed, checked out, and left on his motorcycle.

Vashora. January 7th, 2025, 6:00 AM.

Ayaan stopped in front of an old warehouse on the outskirts. After capturing the doctor, Raj moved him here. Dia is waiting for him at the entrance, wearing the same white sweater and skirt.

"How are you doing, Dia?" Ayaan greeted her with the same cold face.

"I am fine, Sir. The Doctor is inside."

Ayaan nodded and followed her. The doctor was sitting in a chair. He wasn't even tied up. Because his wife and his daughter are both tied up, opposite to him. Ayaan walked in and dropped his bag on the side.

He went and took a seat, right in front of the doctor, covering his view of his wife. Dia stood beside him and said.

"Recount everything you have said. Don't leave a single detail."

The Doctor nodded and started speaking slowly.

"On that day, I already clocked out and was asleep at home when I got the call around midnight. Call from IG Williams.

Williams and our family have been friends for generations, I have known him since I was a child. So, when he asked me for a favor, I couldn't refuse."

He paused, hoping that he could see some sense of reaction for the justification he gave. But Ayaan's face… for a moment reminded the doctor of the Arctic he once visited. Cold, ruthless, and has a calm that hid the most threatening dangers the world has to offer.

The doctor just continued.

"Maya and the Rakshit couple were indeed in an accident and they were brought in as accident victims. However, one of the nurses looked at Maya's condition and felt like something was wrong. She informed the police and the doctor in charge.

Before the doctor in charge could take a look, I already arrived.

Apparently, Williams has called me even before the Rakshit family reached the hospital. I took over the case upon his request and then I discovered what had happened.

Both parents were indeed killed in the accident. The injuries, trauma, and even their clothes indicate that. But Maya…

The accident actually didn't damage her much. Whatever happened before did.

She was assaulted, with a blunt weapon. Repeatedly.

She..

She.."

As he was stuttering, Ayaan took a deep breath. His eyes emit his intent to kill. The doctor wiped his sweat and said.

"She was raped. Severely and violently by multiple people. I have recovered around four different DNAs from her body.

Whoever did it.. they didn't just do it because of lust. They wanted to hurt her. They wanted to destroy her bit by bit. Physically, sexually, mentally. They tortured her.

There are uneven cuts all over her body, made deliberately to inflict pain without killing her. Burn marks. Multiple fractures across every limb. Whoever did this… it wasn't a human."

Ayaan closed his eyes. His fists clenched. His body is trembling.

The doctor continued with tears streaming down his eyes.

"IG Williams said that some high-level people are involved. He made me cover it up."

"I removed the evidence of all kinds of DNA. I.. I deformed the injuries surgically. I.. I…. helped him cover it up."

"Do you have the evidence?"

"Ye…yes. Just for the insurance, I had all the tests done and the reports are with me. I… I can give it to you. Please.. please just let me and my family go.

I know what I did was wrong. But… it was a moment of weakness. I did it impulsively. I didn't mean it."

Ayaan stood up and said.

"Dr. Stevens. It is taking every ounce of self-restraint that I could possibly muster to not to kill you, right here and now. But for what you did, a swift death will be mercy. And I am a man without mercy.

So, I am going to give you the first and final offer.

Hand over every piece of evidence you have. I will kill you within an hour.

Otherwise, I will spend the same hour on your wife and daughter while I make you witness. Then I will kill you.

You have five minutes to make the decision."

Ayaan walked away from there and went to the entrance. He held the doorway, trying to control himself.
