Mother's Plea
Ayaan's hand dug into the brick wall without even knowing.
The five minutes are up instantly. Ayaan didn't even bother to ask if that guy made a decision. Instead, he walked towards them, and turned the chair around to face the wife and the daughter.
"NO.. NO… PLEASE.. PLEASE."
The Doctor screamed, but he didn't give the answer Ayaan wanted. Dia who saw this, hesitated for a moment and said.
"Sir, please. Don't do this. Give me another five minutes. I will convince him."
She stood in between Ayaan and them.
Ayaan looked at her. His expression did all the talking. It clearly showed that he ran out of patience. Dia gritted her teeth and said.
"I know you are hurting… but a woman and a child… I don't want this on your conscience. You don't need this to weigh you down. Do not do this just to deal with the vermin like this doctor. It is not worth it."
Ayaan still didn't relent, but after a few minutes of staring down, Ayaan said.
"Another five minutes. On the dot."
He didn't even get up from there. He just stared at the mother and daughter. Dia first faced the Doctor.
"What the fuck is wrong with you? Do you think he was bluffing when he warned you? Get real, doctor. After what you have done, you are dead. Your fate has been sealed. Now, you are not even bothering to save your wife and daughter?"
"I… I… please. I know I made a mistake. I will help him. Just tell him to let me go."
Dia gritted her teeth, she took a knife, and stabbed it in his hand. She turned around to face the wife and daughter. Both of their mouths were taped.

But the expected screams and yells didn't come. The wife in particular just sat there lifelessly. Almost as if she has mentally died. The doctor at least showed some emotion. She was crying, tears seemed unstoppable as they rolled down her face.
But she was also not pleading.
Forget about pleading for their husband and father, they were not even pleading for themselves.
"Please tell him. Tell him to speak up. You.."
"Let it be." The wife said calmly.
"What?"

She paused and looked at Ayaan.

But my husband, who I loved dearly my whole life, not only did this to your sister, but he was still trying to brush it off as a mistake.

She broke into weeping as she spoke to Ayaan. But his face didn't show a hint of mercy. Dia clenched her fists as she looked at the Doctor. Rage boiling in her heart. But at that moment, she saw his face, she knew.
He broke down.
The words of his wife, indeed broke him down.
"I will give it to you.
It's in my wife's locker. Under her jewelry box."
He gave up. Dia took her phone and made a call. At the same time, she hurriedly untied the two women.
Ayaan turned his chair, now facing the doctor.
He removed the knife and threw it away. He didn't need it to inflict the pain. Not at his current level. He held the doctor's hand gently and held the fingernail with his two fingertips.

Dr. Stevens screamed at the top of his lungs and that was just the beginning of a long and arduous hour for him. Halfway through, he started wishing for his death, and when he couldn't get it, he fell into despair, which made him succumb to the pain.
His will shook and collapsed. He was nothing but a living corpse by the end of the hour.
After he was done, Ayaan picked up a can of gasoline nearby. He poured it all over Dr. Stevens and set him on fire, while he was still alive.
Another chain of screams later, Ayaan sat in the chair as he watched the Doctor die slowly, burning to death.
Meanwhile, Dia has already taken the wife and child back to their home. She only had one thing to say to them.
"It is better if you forget this. You and all your means of communication will be monitored, if there is even the slightest indication that you are going to speak about this… Even my momentary compassion won't be enough to save you."
After that warning, she came back to see Ayaan who just finished the task.

"I will go to the hospital. I need to see Maya. Did you retrieve the information?"
Dia nodded and took out a large folder and a cardboard box.
"Please handle it. Those four people involved. I need to know their names by afternoon."
Dia nodded and watched as Ayaan left on his motorcycle. She took out her phone and looked for one particular number.
"Agent Dia here. Report to the lab. We have an urgent task directly from the boss."
She then took off in her car.
8:30 AM
Ayaan is sitting the hospital room with a huge spread of food on the table. With his level up, his hunger doubled again. He is eating food that could usually feed around five to six people. Raj left the room to receive the prisoners that they are about to receive.
The Black Dog executives are coming here and Dia is all set for interrogation. Ayaan decided to spend some time with Maya, while awaiting the results of the medical tests.
After he finished the meal, he decided to sort out the loot from the recent quest.

Previously, he hesitated about selling them. These weapons are indeed decent, however, he realized that they are slowly losing their advantage. In the third quest, they didn't really matter much when he was fighting the mob.
He used them most when he was fighting with the Abyssal Guardian. However, even then, they barely did any damage.
They were mostly handy only when Ayaan was trying to establish a rhythm. He believed they won't be as useful in the next quests. Another thing he noticed is their durability.
