Her Last Requiem

Acrobatic Silky stared at the strange young man, but one of the words Kenji said had caught her attention.

"Mommy? Did you just call me Mommy? I didn't give you permission to call me that, but I'll let it slide. So call me that one more time." Acrobatic Silky let go of Momo as she flopped to the ground, she finally had room to breathe as she distanced herself from Acrobatic Silky.

"That guy.. he's that tuna bastard.." Momo muttered out, still holding a grudge over Kenji calling her dumb.

"You know that monster?" Turbo Granny asked her as she calmly stared at Kenji's figure.

"No not really.. he's weird, but he's strong." Momo said as she held herself up.

"Damn right he is, I've never felt that much pressure just being in the presence of someone." Turbo Granny said as Momo looked at Kenji with hopeful eyes, her plan had failed, but maybe Kenji might be able to save both Okarun and Aira.

"Beat her ass Salmon!" She cheered for him.

"Salmon..?" Kenji quietly asked, what part of him looked like a salmon?

He shook his head at Momo's antics as his calm eyes landed on the approaching figure of Acrobatic Silky.

"Say it one more time... Say it one more time... Call me Mommy again.." She towered over him, with Kenji just barely reaching the hem of her skirt.

"Sure thing, Mo-" Kenji jumped up as he infused his whole right arm with cursed energy, he didn't want to juggle the people still in her stomach so he kept the enhancement to it's minimum.

"Mmy!" He struck her stomach using his elbow, the force of the elbow strike staggered her as she struggled to stand up, kneeling she gagged, she felt something rising up her stomach as she spat out both Okarun and Aira, Okarun held Aira tight and they sent tumbling to Momo's feet in the sideline.

"Ayase-san!" The first thing Okarun looked for after getting spat out was Momo, as he saw her there standing in front of him he breathed a sigh of relief as he adjusted his position to also watch the ongoing battle, thought it couldn't really be called a battle.

Acrobatic Silky forced herself to stand up as her hair shot out to try and restrain Kenji, Kenji raised his left arm up, so the hair targeted Kenji's left arm.

But she didn't expect it to be a trap as Kenji used her hair as a way to attack her, pulling her hair and her along with it. As she was pulled towards Kenji at quick speeds what met was Kenji's fist as it hit her square in the face, sending her catapulting towards multiple walls.

"Y-you brat..!!" She dashed through the holes her body made when she was sent flying, reaching Kenji she snapped her leg at him, contrary to what she expected, he wasn't sent hurdling, instead Kenji had caught her foot.

The air crackled as the sound of Kenji catching her foot echoed out throughout the abandoned storage unit.

Kenji gripped her ankle as he used it to slam her through the floor, she couldn't catch a break as Kenji threw to the air, making her big body spin as he jumped up and imitated Nagi's kick, using her as a substitute for a football.

As Kenji's kick connected, Acrobatic Silky shot straight through a metal shipping container, the sound of her colliding with it sending out a loud of echo, disrupting the birds in the sky.

"Goal!" Kenji pumped his fist, a slight smile present on his face as slowly made his way to the nearly broken figure of Acrobatic Silky.

The battered and broken figure of Acrobatic Silky left Kenji scratching his head as he thought, 'Maybe I went too far with the flexing.' With a sigh, he gripped her by the hair as he dragged her towards Okarun and the gang.

"Dang!!!! You're mega strong! What was that? You went woosh, and then wham, and then wapack! That was really cool!!" Momo started hyping him up as Okarun also shared the same sentiment as Momo.

Kenji could only scratch his cheek as he didn't really feel cool anymore, he had just beaten up the grieving spirit of a woman who killed herself at the loss of her child.

That was a definite loss of his aura, he'll get it back eventually, but this will serve as a memory for Kenji.

Don't beat up Ghost Women.

"But anyway, why isn't this girl waking up." Momo looked at the unconscious figure of Aira, her expression peaceful, as if she was in a deep sleep.

"That's because she's long gone." Turbo Granny crossed her hands, Okarun adjusted his glasses as he asked.

"What do you mean by that?"

"I mean what I mean, she's gone, she's dead." The revelation left both Momo and Okarun wide eyes.

"What? Dead? That shouldn't be, I mean she was just planning on exorcising me moments ago!" Momo said, not choosing to believe that someone had just died in their watch.

Okarun checked her pulse only to feel that there really isn't any, confirming that she, was really dead.

"You can choose not to believe me, but when a human gets devoured by a Yokai, then they're as good as dead. That's just how it is." Turbo Granny started playing Candy Crush on her stolen phone as Momo tried to resuscitate Aira using her psionic hands.

[I wrote this part while listening to [Vague Reason], the OST that was playing before Nanamin died. I would suggest listening to it while reading this part as well, just to make it more peak.]

"Aira... My sweet Aira..." Acrobatic Silky's voice alerted both Okarun and Momo as they jumped to action, only to see that instead of standing mighty tall, Acrobatic Silky was desperately trying to claw her way to Aira.

Momo mobilized her powers to stop Acrobatic Silky's last advance, only to be stopped by Kenji.

"Stop, let her be." Kenji left her shoulder and her powers halted to a stop, she snapped towards him, demanding an answer.

"What are you talking ab-"

" Let her cook. " Kenji's deathly calm voice made her flinch. She retracted her psionic hands as she just watched with vigilance as Acrobatic Silky reached for Aira's hand.

"Momo, connect Acrobatic Silky's aura with Aira's." Kenji didn't say anymore, as Momo simply complied, trusting him with Aira's life.

"Aira... My beloved daughter, I'm sorry for being a bad mother... I'm sorry for not being there... I love you, my precious Aira..." A gentle light flowed from Acrobatic Silky as it enveloped Aira's from, bathing her in a gentle, almost warm light.

"This is my last gift to you, my daughter..." Images, or perhaps memories flooded Aira's and Momo's minds, as they saw a young woman, a young mother.

Showered in debt, she worked day and night, sacrificing her time, dignity, and career, for her beloved daughter.

She tried her hardest to support her daughter, resorting to even selling herself just to makes ends meet, oh what a parent wouldn't do just to see their child happy.

It seemed just fine, even if she suffered, she would do it a thousand, a million times, just to see that same smile she saw when she got back home.

But even that was taken from her. For what? She didn't know the answer, so she tried running to find the reason, just the smallest reason, even if it was a vague reason.

As she failed to find that reason, she couldn't find a reason to stay in this world any longer as well.

So, in the dead of night, with the stars shining so bright you would think it was a painting of Van Gogh, she danced, a requiem composed solely by her.

She was once an aspiring acrobatic, but she abandoned that for her daughter, she remembered, how happy she was when her daughter also got an interest in acrobatics, how happy she was, watching her daughter trying to imitate her, how happy she was, hearing her cheery laugh, how happy she was, as she cradled her daughter to sleep.

And as her dance ended, it ended with no cheering, no booing, but with a very soft thump, as she made her presence known, with a Last Requiem.

She remained in this world, quietly waiting to pass, but she felt the tug of a little girl, her tuft of pink hair attracted her, her vibrant eyes glimmering with hope enchanted her, her words stirred her heart once more, as she called her mommy, her memories of that time they were happy resurfaced.

And so, her goal changed, she wouldn't just pass like that, she would protect that girl, she would protect, her daughter.

That was her story, as Aira woke up with a sudden snap of her eyes. She woke up to the sight of Acrobatic Silky, holding her hand as her formed slowly started fading.

Tears filled her eyes as she enveloped the giant woman in a wide hug.

"Thank you... Mommy.." She whispered, so only Acrobatic Silky could hear, as Acrobatic Silky heard the words of Aira, she couldn't help but smile.

'Maybe this isn't so bad after all...' Her thoughts faded away, as the last remnants of Acrobatic Silky story ended, as she was put to rest.

Aira dropped crying on the ground at the passing of Acrobatic Silky. A tear couldn't help but escape from Kenji's eye as he calmly looked at the departing woman.

"Rest in piece.." He wished her the best, as the mother, had finally reunited with her daughter. Her search was over, and she could finally.. Rest.
