Back to Work

 Emmanuel hadn't forgotten that he too had work to go to, and so a short while after Joshua left for work, he too was ready to take off. As he was about to leave, he shouted goodbye to his mom from the sitting room as she was already inside the bathroom taking her bathe. " Okay, See you later " She replied. As soon as he heard her reply, he was filled with smiles as he was about to leave home. Then suddenly " Don't forget your lunch ohh ". Emmanuel who had already walked outside the door and was about to close it immediately paused as soon as he heard her. " Ohhhhhhh " he said before then yelling back " Yes ma ". After saying that, he immediately ran inside and picked up a yellow nylon which seemingly contained a cone-shaped object. 

 He picked it up and the ran back outside. This steps were carried out lightly, with him trying his best to not make any noise. He didn't want her to know he did forget it as she had actually warned him not to previously. " You forgot it, didn't you ", These words invaded his ears just as he was about to quietly shut the door close. " I don't know " He said before shutting a bit forcefully and running downstairs. Favour who spoke earlier just shook her heard and said " Careless boy ". 

 Emmanuel didn't go to work on foot this time, he took a bike. He could only take a hike when he closed from work, and this was because he didn't have to be in a rush. But when going to work, he couldn't as he would then be late and scolded by his madam. 

 At exactly 8:02 am, He reached his destination. He immediately got down from the bike. He carefully searched his cross bag which was currently hanging down from his shoulder, and in no time, he brought a few notes of cash, they weren't up to five notes, but they were different colours which meant different value. Out of the few note, he picked out a reddish brown colour note which had the figures * 200 * written at the top. He passed it to the driver and then to the remaining notes, he arranged them orderly and then inserted them to the back pocket of the trouser he was putting on. The cross bag he was wearing was the one which he was going to use and work and so his madam's money would be in it. He didn't want to mix them up with his. 

 Once Emmanuel was done, he crossed the road as his destination was just a few step across where he was dropped. In no time he got a lot nearer to the place. The only thing separating him from the place was a large gutter, but then there was also a wooden bridge which he could use to cross it.

 On getting inside the shop, he was greeted with the sight of a staring Rebecca, boning Mrs Amarachi who was currently carrying her sleeping child on her lap. " You are very early " Mrs Amarachi who was still petting her baby girl said. " Ohhhh ma, I am very sorry, I had already reached a few minute ago, I was settling my bike man and sooo… " He pretended as if he was about to go into a long route of explanation before Mrs Amarachi shunned him. " Euuussshhh, Don't make noise before you would wake my baby up " Mrs Amarachi said annoyed. " Go and start your work for the day. " Mrs Amarachi said, dismissing him.

 " Yes ma " Emmanuel said and immediately turned around. He was about to work off when, " Emmanuel ", Mrs Amarachi suddenly called. He immediately turned with a face full of fake smiles. " So what would you use and work " Mrs Amarachi asked while staring at him, she didn't know what she should do with this boy.

 As soon as he heard her, he immediately looked at his hands and then let out an " Ohhhhhhhhhhh " sound before finally speaking " Am very sorry ma ". " Sorry for your self " She replied at which Emmanuel's responds was to ignore at first and then when he went and picked up the POS machine on the table, he rolled his eyes when his back was facing her and therefore she was unable to see it. 

 Rebecca who had been quietly giggling since the start of the drama saw his action and then spoke with no voice when their gaze meant " Silly boy ". " Good afternoon " That was Emmanuel's reply. 

 Emmanuel with the POS machine in his hand was about to leave again when suddenly, " Emmanuel ", Mrs Amarachi called again. " Aiiihhh " Emmanuel muttered under his breath, in a voice only him could hear. But then with a face full of smiles, he again turned back and answered " Yes ma ". " Where's your book " she asked. Emmanuel on hearing her was about to look at his hands again, but then he stopped and instead looked towards the table. " Ohhhh " The sound escaped his mouth again. He walked to the table to pick it up and turn around to leave. After he had walked a few steps without hearing his name and was already thinking he was already free, " Emmanuel " His name was called again. He raised his legs and stomped his feat. " What happened " Mrs Amarachi asked with a stern face. " Nothing, it was an ant " Emmanuel answered. " Come and stay here, work with Rebecca, Bose is already there ". Bose was the name of his second co-worker, but then he and her weren't really that close.
