Chapter 63 — Can Dogs Give Birth to Humans?

"Alright, then we'll meet again in three months."

With that, Sun Wuming stuffed Marie's black jacket and backpack into Saitou's arms.

Then he tucked Saitou under his left arm, hoisted Rurina onto his right shoulder, and flew away using his levitation technique.

Watching Sun Wuming's silhouette rapidly shrink in her vision until it finally disappeared like a tiny sesame seed after a few seconds.

Marie gritted her teeth and quickly opened the only thing Sun Wuming had left her—

The Poké Balls.

Two containing her Morpeko and Morgrem.

And four empty ones for catching wild Pokémon.

"Peko!"

"Grem!"

The two little creatures that jumped out of their Poké Balls called out to their trainer, then hugged themselves, shivering from the cold.

"I need to make some clothes quickly, or we'll freeze."

Marie looked around and suddenly noticed a group of Frosmoth gathered nearby, lazily flying about.

Marie's usually expressionless face suddenly showed a predatory look.

That fluffy fur looks so warm!

"Morpeko! Thunderbolt! Morgrem! Dark Pulse!"

Marie shouted while pointing.

As she yelled, several large snowflakes rushed into her mouth with the blizzard, making her choke from the cold.

...

Cufant City.

"Isn't it too dangerous to leave that child alone there?"

After being set down by Sun Wuming, Rurina asked with a worried expression.

The dangers of Crown Tundra were not to be underestimated, even for a Gym Leader like herself.

Even if she were left there, Rurina wasn't confident she could make it out.

Let alone Marie, who had only been traveling for a few months.

"You think I chose randomly?"

Sun Wuming smiled lightly.

When he had used his levitation technique to drop Marie there, he had noticed the area was populated with Frosmoth, Beartic, Copperajah, and various other Pokémon with thick fur.

Though Marie wasn't very strong, getting enough fur from those Pokémon to make a down jacket wouldn't be difficult.

If she couldn't even manage that, there would be no point in teaching her further battle techniques.

"I'm sensing her energy - if she's in real danger, I'll go save her,"

Sun Wuming said calmly:

"Just like I did with you before."

Hearing this from Sun Wuming, Rurina felt secretly delighted while also becoming more reassured.

"Master, are you still going to search for those two weapons with Zacian and Zamazenta? Let me come with you!"

Saitou said with expectant eyes.

"Then, then I also..."

Rurina didn't want to be left behind.

"Don't you both have the upcoming Galar Star Tournament?"

Sun Wuming countered.

At this, both were left speechless.

"I'll go by myself. You two focus on your training."

Hearing Sun Wuming's words, Rurina pressed her lips together in disappointment.

At least it was fortunate that Saitou hadn't gotten ahead, and that girl "Marie" wasn't around either.

At least everyone was still at the same starting line.

It seemed she was already in Cufant City when she received the message.

After glancing around several times, apparently confirming Rurina really wasn't nearby, Sonia let out a long breath.

Suddenly noticing that pure and innocent girl wasn't by Sun Wuming's side, she couldn't help but ask:

"Where's Marie?"

"Oh, that girl..."

Sun Wuming quickly and briefly explained to Sonia what had happened last night.

Now all that was left was the thought "Am I the only one traveling with him now?"

Sonia's expression showed both panic and secret joy.

"Oh, right, this is for you."

Sonia suppressed her heart's flutter and took out a bracelet from her bag to give to Sun Wuming.

"What's this?"

Sun Wuming was surprised - he had seen this bracelet before on Marie and Kibana.

"A Dynamax Band."

Sonia smiled:

"I asked Gran for it yesterday."

As Professor Magnolia was one of the developers of the Dynamax Band, getting one was no big deal.

But from what Sonia just said... had she gone back to Wedgehurst to get this?

Sun Wuming felt touched for a moment.

Actually, he had no intention of using Dynamax, because once used, all of a Pokémon's moves would forcibly become Dynamax moves.

For his fighting style, the disadvantages far outweighed the advantages.

If he had to choose, Sun Wuming would prefer Mega Evolution.

But this girl had traveled from one city to another and back in less than a day just to give him a gift.

If you refused at this point, you'd definitely deserve to be single.

"Thank you, I love it."

Sun Wuming accepted the Dynamax Band with a smile.

"I'll repay you somehow."

He added.

"You don't need to... this was entirely my choice..."

This was a small town famous for its hot springs in Galar.

Like Stow-on-Side where Saitou was, it had two gyms.

They were run by the Ice-type Gym Leader Melony and the Rock-type Gym Leader Gordie.

The two were mother and son.

At the Ionia Hotel.

After their hot spring bath, Sun Wuming and Sonia sat in a private dining room wearing bathrobes.

Sun Wuming was busy feasting while Sonia was on her phone.

"This is outrageous!"

Sonia suddenly slammed the table angrily.

Sun Wuming, who had just stuffed a whole steak in his mouth, looked up.

The angry Sonia met Sun Wuming's gaze and turned her phone screen toward him.

"The Galar royal family is saying my published paper about Zacian and Zamazenta is fabricated."

Sonia's face was red with anger, "They're claiming it was their ancestors who saved Galar, not the Pokémon."

"Galar royal family?"

Sun Wuming swallowed his steak in one gulp and thought for a moment before saying:

"Seems like you mentioned them before in Wedgehurst..."

Sonia said with her lips pursed in anger enough to hang a kettle:

"They're the great nobles of the Galar region, claiming to be descendants of the two heroes who supposedly saved Galar 3,000 years ago."

"Ha!"

Sun Wuming laughed exaggeratedly, looking at Zacian and Zamazenta who were busy eating:

"Did you two dogs mutate? Can you actually give birth to humans?"
