The Other Side
At the Senju Clan's land, Orochimaru's expression shifted slightly. He touched his abdomen, the corners of his eyes twitching.
"What's wrong?" Uzumaki Mito asked, puzzled by his reaction.
"Xu Ming refused," Orochimaru replied, shaking his head.
He didn't mention how Xu Ming had destroyed his Shadow Clone.
"He refused?" Uzumaki Mito frowned but said nothing further. Instead, she took out her practice notes and handed them to Orochimaru.
"If he won't come, I'll teach you first."
"Yes," Orochimaru responded respectfully, accepting the notes.
And so, the lessons began.
Three Days Later
Xu Ming was in the middle of a class at the ninja academy when he suddenly received feedback from his system:
[You have perfectly mastered Yang Release Nature Transformation!]
A simple notification—nothing more.
"It's finally here…" Xu Ming muttered to himself, narrowing his eyes.
"It looks like mastering Yang Release is significantly harder than other nature transformations. It took three whole days to receive feedback. No wonder it's classified as a 'secret' technique."
"If I've mastered it perfectly, then Orochimaru is probably just getting started. But even at a beginner's level, he should now be able to attempt medical ninjutsu."
After class, Xu Ming didn't hesitate—he skipped the next session, climbed over the academy wall, and slipped away unnoticed.
He made his way to the large forest behind Hokage Rock.
Stopping at a small bend in a river, he ensured there was no one around. Then, he stretched out a hand.
At his fingertips, a bright blue light flickered.
Chakra flowed, undergoing Nature Transformation—becoming Yang Release.
A moment later, the blue glow shifted into a radiant green, as vibrant as polished jade or a newly sprouted leaf.
Simply looking at this light, he could feel a faint sense of vitality emanating from it.
"Yang Release…"
Xu Ming stared at the energy, but a trace of doubt crossed his face.
"Why does my Yang Release feel… different?"
He decided to test it. With his other hand, he pulled out a kunai and threw it into the river.
Splash!
A burst of water erupted, followed by a dark red stain.
A fish, its tail impaled, trembled as it floated to the surface.
Xu Ming stepped onto the water, using chakra to balance himself. He retrieved the fish, removed the kunai, and placed the wounded creature on the riverbank.
"Let's see what happens…"
He pressed his fingers against the wound.
The rich green light at his fingertips made contact with the injury.
In an instant, the glow was absorbed.
And then—
The wound began to close at an astonishing speed.
The blood stopped. The muscles regrew. Within moments, a scab had already formed.
"What…?"
Xu Ming stared in disbelief.
"This isn't medical ninjutsu!"
Medical ninjutsu works by using Yang Release chakra to stimulate cell activity, forcing them to divide rapidly to heal wounds. However, this comes at the cost of overtaxing the body's natural lifespan.
In the original world, medical ninjas had to maintain continuous chakra flow, covering wounds with green energy while stimulating the cells.
But just now—
His chakra wasn't stimulating the cells.
It was absorbed all at once!
"The fish didn't consume its own nutrients to heal… It used my chakra as a life source!"
Xu Ming's mind raced.
"This is similar to… Senju Hashirama!"
Hashirama, the First Hokage, could use his own chakra as a source of life, allowing trees to grow rapidly.
But no one else could replicate that feat.
Even the Senju and Uzumaki clans, skilled in Yang Release, could only use it to stimulate cellular activity—they couldn't refine it to the point of replacing vitality itself.
But Hashirama could.
And now… so could Xu Ming.
"Does this mean my chakra, enhanced by tenfold Yang Release feedback, can serve as a direct life source?"
Xu Ming gasped.
But then he frowned.
"What's the point of this ability?"
"Wood Release is a Kekkei Genkai—a fusion of Earth and Water chakra inherited from Ashura's chakra through the Divine Tree. It's a unique mutation."
"I don't have the conditions to awaken Wood Release."
Xu Ming lowered his head, deep in thought. His gaze shifted to the fish on the ground.
It should have been weak from blood loss.
But instead—
It was flopping around energetically, leaping over a meter into the air.
"…Wait a second."
A realization struck him like lightning.
He quickly kicked the fish back into the river and disappeared into the forest.
As time passed, the forest fell into chaos.
Animals scattered in fear.
Xu Ming was nowhere to be seen.
By evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, Xu Ming emerged from a cave.
Surrounding him were various animals—tied up and restrained.
An old monkey, a fully-grown leopard, an undernourished baby bird, and even unhatched snake eggs.
But something was strange.
Each of these creatures was bursting with unnatural vitality.
The old monkey, once frail with white fur and cloudy eyes, now had sleek, darkened fur. Its muscles bulged as it struggled against the vines binding it.
The baby bird, which should have been weak, chirped loudly with the strength of an adult.
The snake eggs—previously lifeless—had resumed the hatching process.
The leopard, which once had an injured leg, now moved with flawless agility.
Xu Ming stared at his hands, his heart pounding.
"Reverse aging…? Regression…? Restoration?"
Every word felt heavier than the last.
"How is this even possible?"
His treatment didn't consume lifespan.
It replenished it.
His chakra wasn't just a healing agent—it reversed aging, restored vitality, and enhanced life.
Even Hashirama Senju, the God of Shinobi, couldn't do something like this.
And yet, Xu Ming had just done it.
