Chapter 100: A Small Episode at the Station

Chapter 100: A Small Episode at the Station

After wandering for a while, Li Yi came to his senses and started thinking about how to develop the home appliance business.

Now that he had established a channel for the goods, the most important thing was to build his own home appliance city as soon as possible!

Li Yi had already decided on the location for the home appliance city: the first floor of Lianhua Plaza!

Although the rent was a bit high, the foot traffic was substantial!

Moreover, to break into the market quickly, he needed something special.

Li Yi's secret weapon would be to establish a comprehensive after-sales service network, allowing people to experience convenient and reliable service firsthand.

He believed that with such thoughtful service, combined with the right marketing strategies, the home appliance city would rapidly gain popularity.

However, this would require a significant amount of manpower, especially technicians skilled in repairing home appliances.

These technicians needed to be able to quickly identify and solve appliance problems to ensure customer satisfaction.

Another essential group were the workers who would transport the appliances. These workers had to be able to quickly deliver appliances and also assist with basic installation and use instructions.

As long as these two types of employees were in place, his appliance store would become the most popular in Jiangcheng!

But finding these people was not easy.

The transportation workers were easier to find. Xiaowu, Weizi, and Dachu were all capable of handling this job. If they couldn't do it, he could always recruit workers from the nearby meat processing factory, where many had been laid off. These workers could be hired for a fair price.

But technicians were a real challenge. A technician capable of handling various appliance problems had to undergo professional training and possess advanced technical skills. A novice would pose a significant risk.

Additionally, the number of technicians was a problem. If only one technician was available, there would be no way to handle a large volume of sales.

It didn't take long for Li Yi to come up with a solution!

Although the plan wasn't entirely perfect, it didn't matter—his goal was to make enough money to acquire the meat processing factory as soon as possible!

A few hours later, the train finally arrived at the station, and Li Yi returned to Jiangcheng!

But as soon as Li Yi exited the train station, he saw a heartbreaking scene near the entrance.

A crowd had gathered between the entrance and the waiting room, and there were women shouting, clearly indicating a conflict.

Initially, Li Yi wasn't concerned—such incidents were common in places like train stations, and the police would resolve the matter soon.

But when he saw the parties involved, he couldn't help but stop.

The two sides of the conflict were both women. One was well-dressed with heavy makeup, while the other was kneeling on the ground, her clothes torn and ragged. She was holding a small girl in her arms.

After listening for a few minutes, Li Yi understood the situation.

The kneeling woman and her daughter were begging. The child, around four or five years old, looked tired and was clearly unwell.

Li Yi quickly deduced that the little girl probably had a fever.

The woman with the makeup seemed to be in a hurry. As she passed by, she was tripped by the mother and daughter, causing the heel of her high heels to break. This led to the conflict.

While this sort of thing wasn't unusual in a busy place like a station, the heavily made-up woman was clearly unreasonable. Seeing the mother and daughter in tattered clothes, she immediately began to insult them.

"You people are uncultured! Do you have any manners?"

"This is a train station! Do you even know where you are?"

"You're begging right in front of the station, making the whole of Jiangcheng lose face!"

Li Yi frowned upon hearing this. Who was truly uncultured here?

This woman knew how to use the reputation of the entire city to attack the mother and daughter. She was a piece of work!

But what surprised Li Yi most was the mother's reaction.

She wasn't panicking; she looked… despondent.

Li Yi noticed the mother's eyes. There was a distant, hopeless look in them—almost the same expression Li Yi had seen in Xu Qingnan's eyes when her daughter was taken by human traffickers.

Sighing softly, Li Yi knew he couldn't ignore this situation.

He walked up to the mother and daughter and squatted down in front of them.

The mother reacted with a hint of wariness, backing away slightly.

Li Yi smiled and asked, "Does the child have a fever?"

The mother nodded but didn't speak.

Li Yi took ten ten-yuan bills from his backpack and handed them to her.

"I can't help much, but take this money and get your child treated."

"Use the rest for travel expenses or to find a proper job. Don't give up on yourself."

Without waiting for the mother's stunned response, Li Yi gently placed the money in her hands, stood up, and turned to leave.

The onlookers were murmuring, with many praising Li Yi's actions.

But at that moment, a voice from behind spoke disdainfully, "How could such a person be short of money? It's obvious that he's a scammer, fooling old people like you!"

"I really don't understand, how can anyone bring their child out to beg like this? It's people like you who encourage them!"

Li Yi paused for a moment, then turned around and slapped the woman across the face!

"Shut up!"

The woman was stunned. She hadn't expected the honest-looking young man to hit her.

Li Yi's expression darkened as he looked at the woman and spoke coldly:

"You may look down on her situation, but don't insult her as a mother. Can't you see? Her child is running a high fever. If she wasn't truly desperate, she wouldn't be begging here!"

Li Yi gave the woman one last cold glance before continuing:

"And you—take a good look at yourself in the mirror. You dare to look down on others when you're nothing but a fake?"

The woman froze. The onlookers around her began clapping, showing their support for Li Yi's words.

Li Yi didn't stay any longer. He turned and left the station.
