12. Addition

"B-before y-you ca-came here." I clarified.

"My 'family' gave me money before they threw me out, and I got myself a cheap motel room." He answered.

"...A-are you s-still p-paying f-for the r-room, b-besides sle-sleeping h-here?" That was painfully long of a sentence.

"Yes." He said sheepishly, and now I was the one to burrow my face in my hands. What a waste of money.

"W-what a-are your p-pl-plans?"

"...." He didn't answer immediately, looking down at the toothbrush in he had gotten from me.

"Can I stay here?"

He looked like he would cry if I said no.

"I can help you with..." He thought for a moment.

"There is still money left, you can have it!" His eyes lit up at the thought.

"T-t-there is n-not much s-space." I said, pointing around and squashing a cockroach that crawled over the floor timely.

"I don't care! I can make errands for you, I can learn to cook, I can clean up! I am sorry because of yesterday..." He looked to the side before getting an idea and looking down on me again.

"If I live with you, you can have an eye on me, to make sure I won't talk about your secrets!"

I grabbed his face with one hand and pulled it down to me. My eye level was at his chin, so it wasn't that much of a difference.

"D-d-don't thr-thr-threaten me e-ever a-again." I narrowed my eyes.

"Understood." He said, and I flung his head away, naturally with not much impact.

"I didn't mean to threaten you just now, I am just trying to find reasons for you to keep me...." He looked abandoned again.

"I also didn't want to threaten you yesterday. I hadn't even come up with the idea until you asked me not to tell anyone. The desperation overwhelmed me. I am sorry." He looked at the floor, and I shrugged.

"Y-you can s-stay." It had only been two days, but it was wonderful to have a human being around me again. A fellow sufferer, a fellow wolf. I wouldn't bring it over me to shove him into a center. I would have given anything back then to have someone on my side.

Besides, there was much that he would have to go through—his first heat, his first turning. To help him, I needed him near me.

He pounced at me with a bear hug, lifting me up in the air for a brief moment.

"Thank you, thank you! You won't regret it, I promise!"

"W-we will s-see." I patted his back.

He didn't make any movement to let go, so I had to remind him.

"G-go s-shower."

Leon squeezed me tightly, before walking in the shower with his toothbrush, and I heard the water going on.

This apartment was even two small for one pet, now there would live two wolves in it.

I made a new patch of soup while Leon showered.

When he ffinished,he turned the water down, but didn't come out.

"W-what?" I asked.

"Do you have a towel?" He asked, and I looked at the one around my hips. Damn. No, there is only this towel.

"I-I am s-sorry. T-the on-only one is t-the one I h-have u-used." There seemed to be a need to go shopping. That will be dreadful.

A head peeked out, he looked strangely masculine but also more beautiful with his wet hair put back.

"I don't mind! Can you give it to me?"

I nodded and turned around to get my janitor jumpsuit from the day before yesterday and clothed myself.

When I turned around, Leon was staring yet again.

I gave him the towel and apologized again.

"I really don't mind." He smiled before disappearing behind the shower curtain.

Well, nothing in this apartment was hygienic, what I spoke of was that this towel was already drenched wet. Still, better than nothing.

When the pup came out, I turned around so that he could put his meanwhile dried clothes on in peace.

"S-soup?" I asked him, and he nodded. Good pup, it was important to eat.

"We can buy a bigger bed with the money I still have." He said in between eating.

"W-where w-would you w-want to p-put that?" I asked.

"Just two mattresses; we can put them on the floor, and when we wake up, we can put one on the other, then we have space!" Leon sounded excited.

I found that to be a good idea. Still.

"L-l-let's look online f-for prices." I had a bit, and it was really only a bit of money put aside. Money I had from not eating dinner but scavenging, and money I got from selling my heat-meds on the dark web, since I wasn't in need of them. It was not really a crime, more of a gray zone.

We were ready to go. There was nothing like a hairdryer here, and werewolves, even Omegas, were resistant to little colds and such, so it wasn't necessary.

We walked outside, and when we walked down the stairs, I pointed at the row of doors in along the corridor,

"T-t-toilett." I seldom use them, instead I go at school, to the staff bathroom, which they hadn't managed to uninvite me from, or in my wolf form in the forest.

"Ah, true, there was none in the apartment." Leon nodded.

When we went outside, I remembered the most important point.

"W-we need t-to g-get the r-room c-canceled. M-motel." He would probably never in his life have as much money as he has now, so he should use it sparely.

"Let's go after school? We can move my things directly." All smiles, he turned to look at me.

The sun was rising, and as we walked between the dark and creepy skyscrapers, having been abandoned for better ones, in better areas, it nearly felt like a new life would begin for us.
