Still, the bad premonition I had could not be ignored.
"...How m-many th-things....." I asked.
"Not many. A few clothes. Oh! My size is bigger than yours, and I have only seen you in the work uniform, you can choose whatever you want from my stuff to wear!" Puffing his chest out, he seemed over the moon.
I was also happy, but that was because I was alone for so many years. How could he be as happy when his outlook was a destroyed life and living in a cramped apartment full of cockroaches and a janitor?
"O-ok. E-everything t-that doe-doesn't f-fit in the a-apartment n-needs to be sold."
"Yes, no problem. You are the landlord, you decide." He chuckled, and we soon arrived at school.
When I pointed at the main entrance, he looked at me with puppy eyes. By the way, his injuries, at least on his face, looked much better, his body I hadn't seen yet. Thought it would get worse, maybe a good healing was his talent?
"Can't we go in together?" He asked.
"I c-can't u-use the m-main e-entrance."
Leon could only come with me to the side entrance.
"Okay, I'll go with you." He took the lead, and I followed him. Was it really so important where we said our goodbye for the day?
We ran into the beta-bitch, which somehow had to happen because it was the first time I had someone walking inside with me together.
Her face first lit up seeing the pup, then it morphed to disgust. She seemed to have briefly forgotten Leon's 'diagnosis'.
"What are you doing with a student?" She focused on me, and I shrugged.
"N-nothing." I said.
"Go to class." She said to Leon, who looked at me unsurely.
After I nodded, he left, and only then did the beta-woman curse. Beta-students are too stuck up to go against the staff, but she, an adult, was apparently not.
"Omegas rotting together..." She mumbled before telling me to go to the arena; there were fights booked in the morning, and I needed to stay in attention.
"The schedule is tight, hurry up with the cleaning between the matches."
I nodded and reached my hand out. They would never give the key to the arena to an Omega, so naturally I had to get it and bring it back every day.
Receiving the key, with her eyes wishing me everything besides a good day, I walked to the arena.
I made sure everything was in place—the towels, the water, and stuff—before having my equipment and a bucket full of fresh water beside me.
Differentiation tends to happen around the age of fourteen or fifteen, at the peak of human puberty. The pup should be around fourteen and sixteen, even if he doesn't look the part. His height is really unusual, I reckon he is about 175 cm, while I am about 169 cm. Normal height for Omegas is about 155 cm and 162 cm. So I had been really proud of my seven-centimeter height advantage.
Alpha's are usually over 188 cm when they are fully grown.
The average height of Betas and Co lied between 170 cm and 185 cm.
Yes... I am really invested in that and know all the facts. Everything that made me different from an Omega was something worth reflecting about.
Anyway. This school reaches until adulthood at nineteen years old. The last year teaches general werewolf or beta-stuff, and is not 'necessary' for Omegas to attend. You see, they filter out the bad seeds early on, only teaching the facts to the superior races.
Nobody knows what they teach there, our knowledge is extremely limited.
About heat and turning into the wolf form, you would also, naturally, be informed by the Alpha and werewolf centers, you would get to after differentiating. Not a must because if you were a werewolf, you had a pack behind you that would teach you everything after differentiating.
First comes the turning, then comes the heat. We have approximately a few months before the pup's first heat. Not as long regarding his first turning.
There are endless forests around the city, but they are full of other werewolves running around, and that was too risky. Additionally, we can't give the pup heat-meds because at least his first heat should be lived through, it's bad for the body to suppress it. That's what I got from the dark net.
I am torn if I should even give him heat-meds in the future. I remember taking them then for years and calming down considerably until it was time for the next heat medicine.
It was such a difference from my normal self, that it seemed something was mixed into it.
And when I cut out my glands, I had naturally been in a bad state, but I remember having break-outs of sweating and trembling. If it were only that, I would say it was because of my heavy injury.
But eventually, it was the endless craving for the medicine that had me stand up and searching through my apartment constantly after making it out of bed again. Though I already knew that I had thrown them away before beginning the procedure.
I even took apart the drain of my sink to search for meds that could have fallen in accidentally, which was nonsense as well.
This behavior...had been clearly that of a junkie.
