Chapter 10

Jaxon revealed to me a part of the past I had been unaware of.

"From the day you cheated, I knew you didn't truly love Vivienne. You were just trying to compete with me!"

Jaxon stood in front of me, his slightly taller stature exuding an intimidating presence compared to Clayton's now hunched form.

"In high school, you were always second best. Even though you were class president, the teachers preferred me because of my grades or my family background."

"Back then, I was a loner. When you approached me, I thought you genuinely wanted to be friends, so I confided everything in you."

"So when my feelings for Vivienne were still uncertain, you stole my thunder and won her heart."

"You begged me, saying you loved her and she liked you too. That's why I stepped aside for you!"

"Look at what you've done now!"

Jaxon pulled out a medical report and threw it in Clayton's face.
