The only relief he had after discarding his identity as a human was that he could still eat his favorite stuffed garlic bread.

As he moved on with his life, day by day, facing challenges upon challenges, Alvin started sensing something amiss about himself, about his life.

Why did it suddenly start to feel like something was watching his every move from the shadow? Why did every action seem to be pushed by someone lurking behind the scenes?

The Eternal Gambit

As soon as she heard the explosion in the distance, Elara's mind immediately felt something had happened to Alvin. She could sense his fears and enraged emotions in her heart and forgot all of the thoughts about interrogating the man.

With a single push from the invisible force, Sean was crushed to pulp against the wall of the old shop he was leaning against. He did not even have the chance to think or express anything.

Without even looking at what was left of his body, which was turning into dust, Elara ran in the direction she heard the sound coming from.

Vanessa also chased after her on foot; her expression was no different from Elara's. Unlike Elara, she did not have the bond with Alvin, so she could not be sure what had happened, but from her lady's reaction, she could tell it was nothing good.
