The statues moved with terrifying grace, their stone limbs creaking as they closed in. Their hollow eyes burned like embers, locked onto me with purpose. They weren't just attacking—they were judging.
I barely had time to react before the first one struck.
I threw myself to the side as a massive stone fist crashed down where I had been standing. The ground cracked beneath the impact. Dust and debris filled the air. Thorne was already moving, his blade slicing through the leg of a statue, but the stone barely chipped.
"These things aren't normal," he growled, dodging a swing.
"No kidding," Selene shot back, barely avoiding a crushing blow.
Caelyn shifted into his wolf form, lunging at another, but the statue caught him midair, tossing him like he weighed nothing. He hit the ground hard, growling as he pushed himself up.
