For seven whole days, Sasuke suffered through the worst kind of hell imaginable.
No, it wasn't a deadly fight against an enemy ninja.
No, it wasn't training until exhaustion.
No, it wasn't another encounter with the Warden.
It was something far worse.

Naruto: "Sasuke, grab it from the left!"
Sasuke: "It has claws, dobe."
Sakura: "Naruto, don't scare it—AHH, IT SCRATCHED ME!"
Kakashi: "Hmm… good teamwork, I guess. Oh well, onto the next one."

Day 2: Weeding Old Man Ryo's Garden
Naruto: "Why are the weeds fighting back?! Are these ninja weeds?!"
Sasuke: "Just pull them out, idiot."
Kakashi: "Oh, I forgot to tell you. The weeds have deep roots. Try harder."

Sakura: "Aww, it's so cute!"
Naruto: "THAT'S NOT A DOG! THAT'S A BEAR!"
Sasuke: "Tch." (Casually dodges a giant bite)
Kakashi: "Ah, be careful. I heard it bites."

Naruto: "WHY ARE THERE SO MANY SPIDERS?!"
Sakura: "Naruto, stop screaming! You're scaring them!"
Sasuke: "Good. Maybe they'll bite him and put him out of his misery."

Day 5: Babysitting Three-Year-Old Twins
Sasuke: "I am an avenger, not a babysitter."
Naruto: "I CAN'T DO THIS, THEY'RE WORSE THAN SHUKAKU!"
Sakura: "Naruto, they're just kids—hey, put that down! NO BITING!"
Kakashi: "Ah, youth. You'll make great parents one day."

Day 6: Helping at the Academy
Naruto: "These kids keep asking me if I have a girlfriend."
Sakura: "They keep asking if I like Sasuke-kun!"
Sasuke: "They keep asking if I'm stronger than Itachi. I hate them."
Kakashi: "Teaching is such a fulfilling experience." (Says the man who does absolutely nothing)

Naruto: "Hah! Irony! Now I get to paint them the right way!"
Sasuke: "Naruto, stop painting ramen bowls on the First Hokage."
Sakura: "I swear, if I get one more paint stain—"
Kakashi: "Art is subjective, don't you think?"

The System Finally Wakes Up
That night, after what felt like the longest week of Sasuke's life, he finally collapsed onto his bed.
Please… let me never see another D-rank mission again…

Sasuke's eyes snapped open as a blue screen appeared in front of him.
> [System Rebooted]
Apologies for the Inconvenience.
Compensating User…
Sasuke sat up. Finally. About time.
DING!
> You have received: 20 Emeralds
Sasuke blinked. "Emeralds?"
He opened his inventory, and sure enough, there were 20 green gems sitting there.
Sasuke frowned. What am I supposed to do with these?
He clicked on one, trying to see if there were any details.
> Emeralds: ???
No current use.
Sasuke sighed. Tch. Useless reward.
Still, it was better than nothing. At least his system was finally working again.
With a small smirk, he leaned back onto his pillow.
No more D-rank missions. Time to get back to real training.
