The new event

Back to Rico City: The Main Event

The morning sun cast a golden glow over Rico City, a metropolis brimming with ambition, crime, and ruthless power struggles. Towering skyscrapers loomed over the streets, hiding the shadows where deals were made, and betrayals were sealed. Inside the luxurious penthouse of The Mirage Hotel owned by Fred, two men sat across from a well-dressed, middle-aged man Mr Frederico, the enigmatic leader of The Phoenix Mafia.

Charles and Dominic were among his most trusted operatives, though in recent weeks, a silent war had begun brewing beneath the surface of their partnership. Charles, ever the ambitious and charismatic one, had earned Uncle Fred's favor, while Dominic, once an equal, felt himself slipping into the underground darkness.

Breakfast was laid out before them steaming hot pancakes, eggs, and exotic fruit but only Charles ate heartily. Dominic barely touched his plate, his mind occupied with other thoughts.

Fred wiped his mouth with a napkin and leaned forward, his sharp gaze flickering between them.

"I have a special task for the two of you," he said, his voice laced with authority. "Something that needs to be handled swiftly and discreetly."

Charles put down his fork and grinned. "You can count on us, Uncle. We'll get it done."

Dominic, however, remained silent, his thoughts elsewhere.

Fred's expression darkened slightly, as though sensing the tension. "I trust there will be no issues?" his voice solid.

Charles glanced at Dominic before responding. "None at all, we have everything under control."

Fred nodded and leaned back. "Good. Head to the Blue Information Room. You'll get the mission details there."

With that, the meeting ended.

As they walked out of The Mirage Hotel, Charles turned to Dominic voicing his consign. "You've been acting strange lately. If this is about Kate moving abroad, you need to snap out of it."

Dominic scoffed and shot him a cold glare. "It's none of your business. Stick your mouth where your money belongs." his voice was full of venom.

Charles exhaled sharply. And held his hands up in the air for the time being. Dominic's attitude had been icy for days now, but today it was worse.

"What the hell is going on with him?" Charles thought.

Still, he shook it off and focused on the task ahead. "Let's just get this mission over with. I don't want Uncle Fred thinking I lack efficiency." he said to Dominic.

Dominic smirked slightly but said nothing.

They arrived at the Blue Information Room, a high-tech command center within one of the Phoenix Mafia's hidden bases. Inside, blue-lit screens displayed real-time data, locations, and classified mission details.

Dominic feigned interest but was only here to gather enough intel for his real plan.

"I need to grab a few things," Dominic said suddenly.

Charles waved a dismissive hand. "No need. We're using new equipment. Your old tools are outdated."

"Still, I need to get something," Dominic insisted.

Charles frowned, irritated but decided not to argue. "Fine, but don't take forever. You have thirty minutes, Dominic. I mean it."

Dominic gave a slight nod before walking off.

As soon as Dominic reached his room, he locked the door and pulled out a burner phone. He dialed a number, and after three rings, a deep voice answered.

"Hello?"

"Spike, it's Matrix," Dominic said, using his alias. "Tell your boss I have everything he needs to take down The Phoenix Mafia."

There was silence on the other end before Spike spoke. "That's a big claim, Matrix. If you're lying."

"I never lie about business," Dominic cut him off. "I'm giving you and your boss a golden opportunity to take over Rico City. Are you in or out?"

There was a pause before the voice spoke up again.

"Why not do it yourself?" Spike questioned.

Dominic chuckled. "I need the Shadow Mafia's help. I can't take Uncle Fred down alone."

A low, raspy voice replaced Spike's. "Matrix… it's been a while."

Dominic smirked. "Boss. I have everything ready. Tonight, we take action."

"Perfect timing," the Shadow Mafia leader replied. "Tonight marks the end of The Phoenix Mafia… and the rise of The Shadow Mafia."

Dominic grinned darkly.

A Plan in Motion

Back in the main hall, Charles paced impatiently.

"It's been more than thirty minutes. Where the hell is Dominic?" he muttered.

Just as he turned to go get him, Dominic appeared.

"Speaking of the devil," Charles said, eyeing him suspiciously. "What took you so long? And where's your stuff?"

"Oh, I.. I, he stammered for a moment before finally finding the words together. You were right," Dominic said with a mocking smile. "Didn't want to risk using outdated tools."

Charles narrowed his eyes but said nothing. Something about Dominic felt… off.

Still, they gathered their equipment—guns, explosives, comms, and wire cutters—before heading to select men for the mission.

When Charles was about to pick the squad, Dominic stepped in. "Let me do it. I know the men's strengths and weaknesses better."

Charles hesitated but nodded. "Fine. Pick the best."

When he was done they headed for the car Park and picked the best ones for the mission.

With four cars filled with elite men, they sped towards the mission location.

Charles, in the lead vehicle, updated the team through the comms. His voice was gentle and soft. "Our first target is inside the Paradise Club. It's a quick in-and-out. No unnecessary casualties. Clear?"

A chorus of "Yes, boss," filled the air.

Dominic, seated next to Charles, smirked inwardly.

This will be your last mission, Charles. You better enjoy it.

As they neared the club, Dominic discreetly tapped his comms device twice a signal.

Unbeknownst to Charles, another fleet of black SUVs tailed them from a distance. The Shadow Mafia was closing in.

The Paradise Club was bustling with music, laughter, and illegal dealings. Their target a well dressed high profile businessman funding rival gangs was inside having a good time after a quick meeting.

Charles led the team through the back entrance. Guns drawn, they moved swiftly, taking out security with silencers.

Inside a private VIP lounge, their target sat, sipping whiskey, unaware of the danger lurking outside his door.

Charles and Dominic exchanged glances before kicking the door open.

Bang! Bang!

"Hands up!" Charles commanded.

The target's bodyguards reached for their guns, but Dominic was faster. He fired, hitting two of them down before Charles even reacted.

As the last bodyguard fell, Charles turned to Dominic. "A bit aggressive, don't you think?"

Dominic shrugged. "Just making sure."

They grabbed the businessman and began escorting him out when.

BOOM!

A loud explosion occur, rocking parts of the building.

Chaos erupted as gunfire rained down from all sides.
