The Next Day
Jit's House – Block D
Jit was deep in sleep when he heard a familiar voice calling him.
"Jit! Wake up and come have breakfast!" his mother's voice rang out from the kitchen.
Slowly, he opened his eyes, stretching his sore muscles. His body still felt energized from the power he had gained last night.
He got up, washed his face, and walked into the dining room. His younger siblings were already eating, while his father sat on the couch, watching the morning news. In the kitchen, his mother was busy cooking.
Jit frowned. "Mom, why are you cooking? You should rest."
His mother turned and smiled. "I'm not that sick, Jit. Ever since I took the Rank 4 medicine, I've been feeling much better."
His father suddenly spoke up. "By the way, Jit, did you see a thief last night?"
Jit blinked. "A thief?"
His father sighed. "Yeah… Someone stole all the dustbins in the entire street."
Jit stiffened. Oh…
Trying to keep a straight face, he quickly shook his head. "No, I didn't see anything."
His father asked him , "Yesterday was your 18th birthday. Did you awaken?"
Jit hesitated.
"If you didn't, it's okay," his father continued. "Becoming a warrior is dangerous. They have to leave the city and fight monsters… It's a risky life. But if you really want to awaken, we've managed to collect 200 gold coins. You can go to the Awakening Guild today."
Jit's heart warmed at his father's words. He knew how hard it must have been for his family to save that much money.
He smiled. "Father, I don't need the money."
His father raised an eyebrow. "You don't want to awaken?"
Jit took a deep breath. "No. I already awakened."
For a moment, there was silence.
Then, his family's eyes widened with excitement.
Jit's younger siblings jumped up excitedly. "Really?! What kind of ability did you awaken?"
Jit smiled but shook his head. "I'll tell you later."
Their faces fell, disappointment clear in their expressions. "Why not now?"
Jit chuckled and ruffled their hair. "Go get ready for school first. I'll take you there, and after that, I have to head to the Warrior Guild."
His mother wiped her hands and walked over, smiling. "That's wonderful, Jit!"
Jit nodded. "I'm heading to the Warrior Guild today to register."
His father patted his shoulder proudly. "That's good. Just be careful out there."
After finishing breakfast, Jit called his construction manager to inform him that he wouldn't be coming to work anymore.
After dropping his siblings off at school, Jit set off for the Warrior Guild.
As Jit walked toward the Warrior Guild, a thought crossed his mind. Can I absorb sunlight too?
Curious, he activated Super Absorption.
[+0.4 Energy Points]
[+0.6 Energy Points]
[+0.3 Energy Points]
[+0.5 Energy Points]
[+0.4 Energy Points]
[+0.5 Energy Points]
Jit observed the notifications and nodded. So I can absorb sunlight… but the energy gain is low.
He smirked. Let's see how much energy I can accumulate in 24 hours just by absorbing sunlight.
The Warrior Guild
Jit arrived at the Warrior Guild, a massive stone building bustling with people. Warriors of all ranks were coming and going, some in full armor, others carrying weapons.
He walked up to the registration counter, where a young woman was handling applications.
"I want to register as a warrior," Jit said.
The girl handed him a form. "Fill this out."
After writing down his information, he returned the form.
The girl nodded and pointed down a hallway. "Go to Room 21 for your status check."
Jit followed her instructions and arrived at Room 21, where a middle-aged man stood next to a strange machine.
Jit looked at it curiously. "What is this machine?"
The man glanced at him. "It scans your Status Window. We use it to confirm your attributes and level."
Jit's heart skipped a beat. If they see my abilities, I'll attract too much attention!
He took a deep breath and stepped onto the machine. A soft hum filled the room as it scanned his body.
After a few moments, the man checked the results and nodded. "It's complete." He turned the screen toward Jit.

Jit frowned as he stared at the mysterious question marks in his ability section. Turning to the examiner, he asked, "What is this? Why aren't my abilities showing up properly?"
The man scratched his head, looking puzzled. "I don't know. I've never seen this before."
After some research, the man finally spoke again. "It has happened before. There was once a warrior whose abilities appeared the same way. When he was asked about them, he revealed that they were FF-rank abilities—so weak that the machine couldn't even register them."
Jit narrowed his eyes. "So only low-rank abilities don't get recognized?"
The man nodded. "That's right."
Jit thought, my abilities… they're not weak. They're SSS-rank. So why aren't they showing up?
Then, a realization struck him. Could it be that this machine isn't advanced enough to determine abilities of such a high rank?
Jit let out a silent sigh of relief. That's good… It means no one will know I have SSS-rank abilities unless I reveal them myself.
The man said "Your abilities aren't showing up, so you'll have to tell me what they are. I need to register them in the Warrior Guild's database."
Jit hesitated for a moment before replying, "My first ability is Absorb. It's an FF-rank ability that allows me to absorb damage if it's less than 10."
The man nodded, noting it down. "And your second ability?"
"My second ability is Transfer. It's also FF-rank. It lets me transfer the absorbed damage to my enemies."
The man sighed. "Both FF-rank, huh? Well, at least you have something."
Jit simply nodded, keeping his true abilities a secret. Let them think I'm weak. That way, I won't draw any unnecessary attention.
The man handed him a small card.
"This is your Warrior ID Card. It shows your name, class, and Rank and city ."

Jit took it and nodded.
"You can now enter the training room to showcase your skills," the man continued. "There are representatives from different guilds there. If they see your potential, they might recruit you."
Jit shook his head. "I'll pass."
He had no intention of drawing attention to himself right now.
Instead, he left the Warrior Guild and headed for the weapon shop.
The Weapon Shop
Jit walked into a small weapon shop filled with all kinds of swords, spears, and bows.
The shopkeeper greeted him. "Looking for something specific?"
Jit checked his money. He didn't have much to spend.
"I'll take a normal sword," he said.
The shopkeeper handed him a basic iron sword. "That'll be 20 silver coins."
Jit paid and left the shop. He couldn't afford anything else for now, but it was enough to get started.
Now, it was time to hunt.
Outside the City
Jit walked two kilometers outside the city. In this area, there were only Level 1 to Level 5 monsters since the Warrior Guild regularly sent warriors to eliminate stronger ones.
For a Level 1 Warrior, fighting a Level 5 monster alone was nearly impossible. That's why new warriors formed groups to hunt together.
Jit approached several groups, but most of them refused to take a Level 1 warrior.
Just as he was about to give up, he saw a group of three men in armor.
He walked over. "Can I join your group?"
One of them, a tall man with a calm expression, nodded. "Sure."
Jit smiled. "I'm Jit. My ability is muscle strengthening." (A lie, of course.)
The healer of the group, Amar, introduced himself. "I'm Amar. My ability is healing."
The archer, Mohan, nodded. "I specialize in archery."
The swordsman, Aman, smirked. "And I fight with a sword."
Amar looked at Jit's simple outfit. "Why aren't you wearing armor?"
Jit shrugged. "I don't need it."
Aman raised an eyebrow. "You don't have money, do you?"
Jit laughed awkwardly. "That too."
The group chuckled, then turned toward the hunting grounds.
Ahead, a small blue creature bounced across the field.
Amar pointed at it. "That's a Level 1 Slime. Our first target."
Jit gripped his sword.
"Time to test my real strength."
