Ch 13. Blood Pill

Evening,Dalton City

After that, Jit returned to the city and headed straight to the monster core shop to sell his loot.

The shopkeeper, a middle-aged man with sharp eyes, looked up and grinned. "Oh, it's you again! What level of monster cores do you have for me today?"

Without a word, Jit reached into his storage and placed a pile of monster cores on the counter.

The shopkeeper's eyes widened in shock. "W-Wow! These are all Level 40 to Level 51 monster cores!" He leaned in, examining them closely. "Did you really hunt this many yourself?"

Jit nodded casually. "Yeah. Is it too many for you to buy? If so, I can go to another shop."

The shopkeeper quickly waved his hands. "No, no! I'll take them all!" He hesitated for a moment before calculating the total. "I'll give you Nineteen thousand gold for these ."

Jit's heart skipped a beat. N-Nineteen thousand?! That was more money than he had ever seen in his life.

His face lit up with joy . "Deal!"

The shopkeeper handed over the gold, and Jit quickly stored it before heading toward the blacksmith's shop to sell his weapons and other monster drop items.

After selling most of his wepons and items he get eleven thousand more gold coins.

Today, I've earned more than I ever have in my entire life.

With his newfound wealth, he began searching for the ring that he had seen in the morning. However, after searching the shop, he couldn't find it anywhere.

He turned to the blacksmith. "Hey, what happened to the ring that was there?"

The blacksmith shook his head. "Ah, that? It was sold about two hours ago." Jit sighed in disappointment.

The blacksmith sighed and said, "Don't be disappointed. I have another C-rank ring. But I don't know anything about it. I even hired a warrior with the Appraisal skill to check it, but he couldn't see any information."

Jit's eyes lit up with curiosity. "Show me the ring."

The blacksmith nodded and took out the ring from his storage device. It was pitch black, with tiny gemstones embedded in its surface, pulsating with a faint dark energy.

Jit activated his Appraisal skill, and the ring's information appeared before him.

[Item Name: Ring of the Dark Magician (C-Rank) (Cursed)]

This was once the ring of a powerful Dark Magician. It was originally SS-rank, but the curses of those he killed have weakened its power, dropping it to C-rank.

Stats (Locked):

Mental Attack: 59

Mental Defense: 54

Intelligence: 53

Skill (Locked):

Servant: You can control people with lower intelligence than you. Requires 150 MP to activate. After use, this skill cannot be activated for 7 days.

Jit's eyes widened. "This ring… it's way more powerful than it looks!"

He stared at it in shock. If the curse could be lifted, the ring's original SS-rank power would return. And the Servant skill… if he could use it, he could command others at will.

"What do you think?" the blacksmith asked, watching him closely.

Jit took a deep breath. "I want this ring."

Jit looked at the blacksmith and asked, "How much for this ring?"

The blacksmith rubbed his chin. "I don't know much about it, but since it's a C-rank item, I can sell it to you for 1500 gold coins."

He hesitated for a moment before adding, "Are you sure you want to buy it? I have no information about the ring, and I think it's cursed."

Jit nodded without hesitation. "Of course, I want it."

He thought to himself, This is actually an SS-rank item. I don't feel right taking advantage of him like this. I'll pay extra so I don't feel guilty.

Jit took out 2,500 gold coins from his storage and handed them to the blacksmith.

The blacksmith's eyes widened. "This is more than what I asked for."

Jit smiled. "If I can use this item properly, it'll be worth it."

The blacksmith sighed but nodded. "Alright then."

Jit carefully took the ring and put it into his storage before turning to leave. He started heading home, his mind filled with excitement.

Jit's House – Block B

Jit's Room

Jit sat on his bed and took out the Ring of the Dark Magician from his storage. The black ring gleamed under the dim light, its tiny embedded gems pulsing with dark energy.

"Let's see if I can remove the curse from this ring," Jit muttered to himself.

He thought for a moment. If I use my Super Absorption ability to absorb the curse… shouldn't that remove it from the ring?

"If I use Super Absorption, I might accidentally absorb the entire ring instead of just the curse… That would be a waste."

To test his control, he grabbed a glass of water . "Let's see if I can absorb only the water."

He activated Super Absorption but in an instant, both the glass and the water disappeared.

[You have gain 13 enegy point ]

Jit frowned. Not good…

He tried again with another glass, focusing only on absorbing the water. But each time, the entire glass vanished along with it.

[You have gain 13 enegy point ]

[You have gain 13 enegy point ]

[You have gain 13 enegy point ]...

He kept practicing, over and over, refusing to give up. Six hours passed. Sweat dripped from his forehead as he tried one last time.

This time, he concentrated harder than ever. The skill activated and only the water disappeared.

Jit grinned. "Finally… I did it!"

[You have gain 6 enegy point ]

Now, he was ready to try it on the ring.

Jit took a deep breath and pulled out the Ring of the Dark Magician once again. The dark energy around it pulsed ominously.

"Now… let's see if I can absorb only the curse."

He activated Super Absorption, focusing all his willpower on extracting the cursed energy while leaving the ring intact.

Suddenly, a notification appeared before his eyes.

[You are absorbing the curse…]

A surge of energy flowed into him.

[+31 Energy Points]

[+38 Energy Points]

[+35 Energy Points]

[+38 Energy Points]

[+39 Energy Points]....

The process continued as the cursed energy was completely drained from the ring.

[You have completely absorbed the curse.]

Jit let out a breath he didn't realize he had been holding. He examined the ring it no longer radiated dark energy.

"Did it work? Did the rank increase back to SS?"

Excitement surged through him as he activated Appraisal to check the ring's status.

[Item Name: Ring of the Dark Magician (SS-Rank) (Soul bond item)]

This was once the ring of a powerful Dark Magician.

Stats :

Mental Attack: 59

Mental Defense: 54

Intelligence: 53

Skill :

Servant: You can control people whose level is 30 level higher than you and intelligence lower than you. Requires 150 MP to activate. After use, this skill cannot be activated for 7 days.

Note :There are 5 small white gems on the surface of the ring . If you controle one person one gem become black . You can controle up to 5 peoples.

Jit's eyes widened as he read the details of the Ring of the Dark Magician.

"An SS-rank item?! And it lets me control up to five people as long as their intelligence is lower than mine?!"

He examined the ring closely. Five small white gems were embedded in the surface. The description made it clear each time he controlled someone, one of these gems would turn black.

"This is insane…" he muttered.

"But the limitation… the controlled person can not be 30 levels higher than me. And I can only use the skill once every seven days."

Jit clenched the ring in his palm, his heart pounding. "This isn't just an item… it's a weapon. The kind of thing that could shake the balance of power."

Tiger Guild, Block B

"H-How could you lose that item?!" Ajit shouted, his face twisted with anger. "Do you have any idea how dangerous this situation is? If anyone finds out what that item is, we'll all be in serious trouble! I gave you a simple task, and you messed it up completely!"

Mohan stood frozen, sweat dripping down his forehead.

"Who took it?" Ajit demanded. "Was he a high-level warrior?"

"N-No... He was only a Level 24 warrior," Mohan replied hesitantly.

Ajit's eyes widened in disbelief. "You were beaten by a Level 24 warrior?!" His voice grew even harsher.

Mohan swallowed hard and quickly explained, "H-He was unbelievably strong and fast! He took us all down in an instant. Please, give me one last chance. Let me take two Level 50 warriors with me. I swear I'll get the item back!"

Ajit glared at him for a long moment before sighing in frustration. "Fine. This is your last chance. Find that man and bring back the item. If you fail again..." His voice dropped to a menacing tone. "You won't like the consequences. Now, go!"

Jit's House, Block B

Jit sat on his bed, examining the storage rings he had taken from the Tiger Guild members. One by one, he opened them. Most contained only F and E Rank items, a few monster cores, and some gold coins.

Then, he opened the ring he had taken from Mohan. Unlike the others, this one held high-level monster cores, some D-rank equipment, and a strange, unidentified item that emitting red energy and small like blood.

Curious, Jit activated his Appraisal skill.

[Appraisal Activated]

Jit frowned. "A pill made from human flesh? Who the hell would use something like this...?"
