"Are you going to school looking like that, aren't you doing too much"
Jayden turned his head around as he heard Raven's voice, She was wearing pajama pants patterned with tiny skulls and a plain black sports bra.
Her hair was pulled back into a high ponytail, loose strands falling around her face.
The sports bra wasn't revealing, but it did show the toned definition of her abs.
The way the fabric of her pajama pants fit emphasized the quiet strength in her figure nothing exaggerated, just natural.
' This woman is beautiful, mysterious and a little dark...I like it'
Whether it was her mature allure, her reserved nature or the way she carried herself, Jayden felt himself attracted to her in a way.
"You're wearing sweatpants in this heat and you're asking me about doing too much, you will sweat to death" Jayden added as he raised his eyebrow.
"Regular people sweat, Goths we simmer... answer me"
"You're weird...in a cute way though" Jayden silently mumbled as he looked at Raven, he then cleared his throat as he added:
"According to Dick, I need a 'disguise' that is completely different from my main persona...and this is what he came up with"
"Mmmm is that so??"Raven commented as she took a sip of her coffee, she then continued as she said:
"Cyborg said you could use the Zeta-Tube or fly using the hanger to go to school but the timing is not on your side"
" After my through ' diagnosis' I discovered that I can easily accelerate from rest to Mach 2 in a 1/100 of a second and the G-Force won't affect me so I'll be fine Raven"
....
' Having powers is cool and all but...it feels a little lonely, I have no one from my past to share this with and that "father" of mine treats me like an after thought'
Jayden noticed Lexington Academy as he zoomed in using his telescopic vision.
He soon landed in the alley besides the school where he noticed there was no surveillance, he brushed of the dust on his clothes and began to walk towards the school.
Students were already gathering, buzzing with gossips and he merely caught fragments as he passed:
"I keep telling you, Batman only comes out at night so he's obviously a vampire...a creature of the night"
"That makes sense, he can't be human like us because he could be killed by bullets, radiation, blunt force trauma, drowning, explosions, and falls from tall buildings...
Like according to the rumours he fell from space and survived...no human can pull that off unless they have the strongest armour in all of existence...plot armour"
"Screw Batman, can we talk about how Beast boy threw my Dodge Hellcat at Mammoth and missed LIKE WHO THE FUCK DOES THAT"
"DUDE!!!!, swearing doesn't make you cool"
Jayden simply ignored the gazes that fell on his back as he entered the school entrance, he entered the lobby and approached the receptionist.
"Hi there, I am new here and I'm supposed to receive some kind of briefing or… orientation, I think?" Jayden said, keeping his voice calm but friendly.
The receptionist, a woman with thick glasses and a stack of paperwork in front of her, looked up at him, blinked, then glanced down at her monitor.
"New student… right, What was your name again, sweetheart?"
"Jayden Kent"
She tapped quickly, then gave a small "Ah!" of recognition.
"Ah!" she said, tapping a few keys. "Jayden Kent , yes, I see you here.
You're enrolled as a late transfer into 11th grade."
She adjusted her glasses and continued reading from her screen.
"According to the system, your core subjects are: English Literature, U.S. History, Physics, Physical Education, and Advanced Mathematics II."
She paused, glanced at him briefly, then added, "You've also been assigned Robotics and Engineering as your elective.
That's a specialized class most students don't get placed there unless they scored high in diagnostics, Impressive."
Jayden stayed quiet, giving a slight nod.
The woman leaned back a bit in her chair. "All right, everything seems to be in order.
Now before I hand over your schedule and student ID, I'll need something to verify your identity first."
She tapped her pen on the desk, then looked at him directly.
"Either a valid physical ID, a digital copy sent to this terminal… or an official letter of authorization from your legal guardian or sponsor, it's a school policy darling"
Jayden gave her a nod as he reached for his bag and took out a letter, he then smiled as he gave the letter to the receptionist.
"Sponsorship from the Wayne foundation... impressive" murmured the Receptionist as she verified the letter.
"You'll be in Class 11B, east wing, second floor," she continued, handing him the folder. "Inside you'll find your student ID, locker number, and a temporary schedule.
Someone from student services will pull you out for orientation later today."
"Thanks" Added Jayden as he gave his gratitude and left.
Jayden walked out of the office and into the main hallway.
Lockers lined both sides of the walls, most already open as students moved around, swapping books or chatting in groups.
He kept his head down, ignoring the stares.
A few turns later, he reached the stairwell and took the steps up to the second floor.
It wasn't crowded, just enough foot traffic to make the place feel alive.
Signs on the walls pointed him toward the east wing.
He followed them quietly until he found the door labeled:
204E — Robotics & Engineering
Jayden stepped in.
The classroom was clean, with rows of desks, a few tool benches at the back, and shelves stacked with small machines and metal parts.
A couple of students were already seated, their attention half on their phones, half on each other.
He picked a seat near the window and sat down.
"Good morning...Ohh it seems like we have a new face, I am Harry Goliath Vanderspeigle your homeroom teacher and you're???"
"Jayden Kent"
"Well then Jayden, you can call me Harry or Mr V and I welcome you to Lexington Academy.... now then, Let's crack open those brains people"
