Chapter 17: Wedding Plans
Miss Alex sat in the meeting room, surrounded by the wedding planner and various other staff members. They were discussing the details of the wedding, from the flowers to the music.
As they went over the details, Miss Alex couldn't help but feel a sense of detachment. This wasn't her wedding, it was a business arrangement. She was being forced to marry Rian Musk, a man she barely knew.
The wedding planner, Mrs. Jenkins, was a cheerful woman with a warm smile. She seemed to be enjoying the planning process, but Miss Alex couldn't muster up the same enthusiasm.
"So, Miss Alex, what do you think of the flower arrangements?" Mrs. Jenkins asked, holding up a sample bouquet.
Miss Alex shrugged. "They're fine, I guess."
Mrs. Jenkins looked taken aback by Miss Alex's lack of enthusiasm. "Well, let's move on to the music then," she said, trying to sound cheerful.
As they continued to discuss the wedding plans, Miss Alex's mind began to wander. She wondered what Rian was thinking, and if he felt as trapped as she did.
Just then, Rian Musk walked by the meeting room, catching her eye. He looked just as unhappy as she felt.
Miss Alex felt a pang of solidarity with Rian. They were both being forced into this marriage, and they both seemed to be suffering as a result.
The meeting eventually came to a close, and Miss Alex left the meeting room, feeling no more enthusiastic about the wedding than before.
As she walked back to her office, she couldn't help but wonder what the future held. Would she and Rian ever find a way to escape this arrangement? Or would they be trapped forever, living in a loveless marriage?
The thought sent a shiver down her spine.
