Miss Alex was walking down the hallway, lost in thought, when she suddenly collided with Rian Musk.

"Oh, I'm so sorry," Miss Alex said, as they both stumbled backward.

Rian's eyes locked onto hers, and for a moment, they just stared at each other.

"It's okay," Rian said finally, his voice low. "I wasn't watching where I was going."

Miss Alex smiled slightly. "I guess we both weren't."

They stood there for a moment, awkwardly, before Rian spoke up.

"Hey, can I talk to you for a minute?" he asked, his voice a little softer than before.

Miss Alex raised an eyebrow. "What's up?"

Rian hesitated. "I just wanted to ask you something. Do you really want to go through with this marriage?"

Miss Alex's eyes narrowed. "What do you mean?"

Rian's eyes locked onto hers. "I mean, do you really want to spend the rest of your life with me? Or are you just doing it because of our families?"

Miss Alex felt a surge of surprise. She hadn't expected Rian to ask her that.
