This was Rhodes' first time owning a monster he could directly control. Every other beast, even the dumbest, like Red King, could act on its own.
Remote control meant he had a new avatar, hugely expanding his options. A mindless beast, no matter how strong, wouldn't interest Nurgle—it needed some form of self-awareness.
In the Ultraman universe, many monsters aren't truly alive; some are animated clay or machines. Mechanical monsters can be awakened or controlled by special means. Maybe in the future, he could draw more remotely controllable monsters.
Rhodes read all the details about Sealizar. Most importantly, his soul would be shielded from Chaos corruption while controlling it—Nurgle would see it as a naturally born monster, not something else.
With this assurance, Rhodes felt safe sending it to Nurgle.
In terms of battle power, Sealizar's melee was weak (its body was just sticky, rotten meat), but its cellular regeneration was terrifying. As long as it wasn't destroyed, it could recover.
Its only ranged attack was toxic gas breath—honestly, it looked exactly like a Nurgle Greater Daemon!
Rhodes wanted to summon it for a test run, but the stench would alert everyone on the ship, and the passive toxic gas would harm non-superhumans.
For now, he decided to keep it in the system space.
He'd unleash it during the Plague Wars, or maybe when he encountered a top-tier Nurgle daemon.
After this purchase, Rhodes had 1.4 million system coins left.
In the 100,000-coin pool, there were no monsters suitable to offer Khorne. Khorne loved war and blood—Red King or Bemstar were vicious, but not enough to impress Khorne.
So, for now, the best he could do was pacify Nurgle.
Rhodes considered using the coins for a lottery draw or new monster upgrades—EX enhancements.
He'd upgraded the enhancement function for 2 million coins during the Tyranid War but had only used it on his first cosmic phantom beast so far.
Both Gomora and Red King were eligible for EX enhancement. The next upgrade would cost 10 million coins and unlock fusion enhancements—combining monsters into new forms.
Red King's EX Enhancement:
Height +5m, Weight +5,000 tons
Massive fists, magma power, fire attacks, special move: Path of Flame
Gomora's EX Enhancement:
Height +4m, Weight +2,000 tons
Spiky armor, ultra shockwave attack enhanced, tail can pierce, special move: EX Shockwave
Each EX enhancement cost 100,000 coins—expensive, but a new basic monster cost the same.
Red King was no longer a frontline fighter, so even with EX, his power wouldn't increase dramatically. He still couldn't fly and was limited to ground combat, which Rhodes didn't lack.
Gomora was currently leased to Yvraine.
But the real game-changer was that after EX enhancement, Rhodes could apply the monster's enhanced physical attributes to himself as well—essentially doubling up on the bonus.
Rhodes decided to EX both Gomora and Red King, spending 200,000 coins.
Both monsters grew past 60 meters and 40,000 tons. Red King's skin turned chocolate-red and black, his arms grew huge, and his skin became tougher, burning nearby enemies.
Gomora became even more fearsome—spiky, imposing, and 60 meters tall.
Just then, Rhode'ss special communicator rang—it was Yvraine calling.
"Did Gomora's new look scare you? Just a little upgrade. Now Gomora is stronger than ever," Rhodes explained.
"You're always up to something! But it's a good thing for me; see you soon on the moon—I'll reward you then," Yvarine said.
After EX enhancement, both monsters' combat power increased severalfold. Rhodes used the system to absorb their enhancements himself.
Two waves of red energy surged into his body, boosting his cells. With Red King's firepower and Gomora's EX Shockwave, Rhodes gained new powerful abilities.
His physical and soul strength both increased—a bonus equivalent to two regular monster upgrades.
