Warhammer: Lord of the Endless Monster Horde [296]

"Not bad!" Lelith tied her damp hair into a braid, then patted Rhodes' chest and spoke.

"Of course! You should know who your man is!" Rhodes gave Lelith a thumbs-up as he replied.

Lelith couldn't help laughing at his words! Bragging after just a few compliments, huh?

But to be fair, Rhodes' strength now definitely ranks among the top tier in the whole real universe.

Yvraine, after inheriting the power of the Eldar God, can summon the souls of the dead to fight, manipulate the forces of life and death, and even summon an avatar of death.

But even so, in a one-on-one duel, Yvraine would certainly lose to Rhodes!

"I'm no match for you alone. Next time Yvraine is here, she and I will take you together—let's see if you can handle it," Lelith said.

"Are you suggesting I give her the giant-size package too?" Two giants fighting in space is already awesome—if it becomes a three-giant melee...

The spectacle would be earth-shattering. Rhodes couldn't even imagine it.

That's not a bad idea! After all, as the Emissary of the Death God's legion, her combat strength is first-tier in the real universe.

After fusing with the Cosmic Phantom Beast—which is controlled by the system and can be strengthened through the system shop—Rhodes technically retains ultimate control over any beasts he gifts.

If the recipient of a gifted Phantom Beast ever turns against him, Rhodes can instantly make that beast rebel from within.

It's a pretty good trump card; he can't directly control the person, but he can always have insurance on their power.

"Yvraine will soon help humanity with a big favor. The Death God, the Laughing God, and the Human Emperor have a secret pact—another human Primarch will be brought back.

Treat her well; it's good for us. In the future, you can make full use of her Death God legion and her power—don't underestimate her Death God avatar," Lelith said, sitting beside Rhodes.

At this moment, she was completely on Rhodes' side. After obtaining a Cosmic Phantom Beast, she's no longer just a member of the Death God's army.

The Laughing God and the Emperor have a secret pact and are executing an extremely dangerous mission. Once it's completed, another human Primarch will return to the Imperium.

"No problem! Next time Yvraine comes back, I'll give her the giant-size package too. I think the Cosmic Boa would suit her," Rhodes said.

Giving her insurance is a good idea. If ever humanity and the Eldar race clash, Rhodes can instantly neutralize this Death God Emissary!

Unlike Lelith, Rhodes' relationship with Yvraine is more like a transaction or a form of entertainment. There's no emotional foundation between them in this Warhammer universe.

The only women who truly have a bond with him are Elena and Lelith. Elena goes without saying.

As for Lelith, Dark Eldar, women don't easily submit to men—but if they do, it's wholehearted. In the dark Eldar race, the word closest to love is to unconditionally give everything, including life and death, to the other.

As long as Rhodes doesn't betray or abandon Lelith, she will never betray him.

"By the way, do you know which Primarch is about to be resurrected?" Lelith asked.

Yvraine mentioned this to her before but didn't specify which Primarch would be revived.

"I can guess. If I'm right, it should be the Lion," Rhodes replied.

Unless he helps, the only Primarch that could be revived is Lion El'Jonson. Rhodes feels that his presence might even bring about the Lion's early awakening. He doesn't know what method the Emperor originally used in the timeline to awaken the Lion, but with the help of the Laughing God and the Death God, it should be much faster this time.

"That's possible! Rumor has it he's very fixated on the title of Warmaster. If you inherit that title, won't he conflict with you?" Lelith nodded.

"Haha! Regular Primarchs are no match for me now. Besides, don't worry—the Lion won't fight me for the Warmaster's seat," Rhodes replied.

The Lion is indeed strong, but without any enhancements, he can't match Rhodes. Even several people around him, including Elena, could defeat the Lion.

The power of a super lifeform is no joke!

Even if he wanted to compete, he couldn't win! Plus, Rhodes doesn't expect to hold the Warmaster's seat for long.

The Emperor's real intention is for Rhodes to become the second Emperor of the Imperium, but only the Emperor and Rhodes know this for now.

According to the Emperor, this will be announced only once Rhodes has enough prestige.

After chatting a while longer, Lelith went to talk with the Cosmic Mantis, learning advanced Phantom Beast martial arts.

To unleash the Phantom Beast's full power, one must master the matching martial arts.

After Lelith left, Rhodes returned to his quarters, spent time with Elena, and opened the system interface.

At this moment, Rhodes had over 1.2 million system coins left. He kept 200,000 as backup and used the remaining 1 million on a 100-pull draw, plus some monster shards from the mid-level shop.

This time he didn't specify a monster, choosing random ones to see if there'd be any surprises.

The system store burst with golden light, countless monster shards pouring out.

One powerful monster shard after another appeared—giant alien shards, special monsters, and finally, a system gift pack appeared for the first time in a while.

Rhodes checked his monster shards first, saving the gift pack for later. One monster's shards reached nine pieces—this monster was the original Zetton, height 60 meters, weight 33,000 tons.

Rhodes had made several Zettons, but those couldn't be strengthened—only this system-drawn one could.

Zetton's height and weight could be enhanced six times, the cost identical to other biological monsters.

The 100-trillion fireball could be enhanced twice—first for 10,000 coins, second for 20,000 coins—increasing its power and size.

Teleportation could be enhanced twice, first for 5,000 coins, second for 10,000 coins. After two upgrades, Zetton could teleport instantly without any prep moves.

Zetton Barrier—formed by crossing hands in front of the chest, could be upgraded four times.

First for 10,000 coins, second for 20,000, third for 50,000, fourth for 100,000.

Each upgrade improved defense and protection areas, eventually shielding the top of Zetton's head.

Zetton's beam skill, called "Ultimate Beam," is a super move that can kill the original Ultraman. It can be upgraded twice for power and range—first for 10,000 coins, second for 30,000, third for 100,000.

Once Zetton is maxed out, EX enhancement can be unlocked.

EX enhancement gives Zetton flight, a more robust build, the back carapace splits open, and new wings allow space flight. The fireball is upgraded to the Trillion Meteor and Ultimate Meteor, powerful enough to destroy a planet with one hit.

But EX enhancement costs a huge 1 million system coins, and all other stats must be maxed out first.

Drawing an original Zetton that can reach EX state is quite a bargain.

By the time they reach the moon, there should be another fight with the Chaos forces, which should provide enough coins for the EX upgrade.

Future shop upgrades may even allow this Zetton to evolve into Hyper Zetton or Death Scythe Zetton.

After synthesizing the system Zetton and placing it in the system space, Rhodes opened the system gift pack.

He got a blue-and-white box with three buttons, plus a syringe containing a faintly glowing blue liquid.

The item's description surprised Rhodes:

"Primary Reiblood Gene Lineage. After injection, the target gains the Reionics bloodline and a matching monster summon device."

Now that's a surprise!

It's the Reionics bloodline! And a matching Reionics Monster Battler! The benefits of this need no explanation!
