When the first dungeon gate appeared in Manila, the world changed forever. At first, people thought it was just another strange phenomenon, like a sinkhole or an earthquake. But when monsters poured out, chaos erupted. The government, police, and military tried to contain the situation, but conventional weapons had little effect on the creatures emerging from the gate.
For the first 48 hours, Manila was on the verge of collapse. The creatures—mostly goblins and lesser demons—rampaged through the streets, killing thousands. Social media exploded with horrifying images and videos: monsters tearing through helpless civilians, bloodied survivors hiding inside buildings, and the desperate last stands of police forces overwhelmed by the onslaught.
Then came the awakened humans.
Day 3: The First Awakening
Without warning, some people gained supernatural abilities. The phenomenon was first noticed when a civilian—an office worker caught in the chaos—punched a goblin and sent it flying into a building. Another survivor suddenly healed his wounds with a touch, while a third summoned a spear made of pure energy.
Scientists later called this event the "Natural Evolution." Humanity had changed.
Awakened individuals, soon referred to as Hunters, became the only real defense against dungeon monsters. They organized themselves into small fighting groups, clearing the streets and driving monsters back. But without coordination, Manila remained a battlefield.
Day 7: The Government Responds
With the first gate still active, dungeon monsters continued to emerge. The military established a quarantine zone, but it was clear that only Hunters could fight the monsters effectively. Recognizing this, the Philippine government took action.
The Hunter Association Philippines (HAP) was created to regulate, support, and train Hunters. Those who registered would receive government support, financial rewards, and access to better equipment. In exchange, they had to help defend the country against dungeon threats.
The first HAP Headquarters was established in Quezon City, the closest safe zone to the Manila disaster area.
Day 15: The Spread of Dungeon Gates
Just as the situation in Manila stabilized, new dungeon gates appeared all over the country—in Cebu, Davao, Baguio, Iloilo, and every major city. Some gates remained inactive, but others broke open, unleashing monsters into urban areas.
The government expanded HAP branches nationwide, drafting more awakened individuals into service. Hunters were classified by ranks, depending on their strength and performance in combat.
The Philippines entered a new era—one where humanity's survival depended on how fast its Hunters could adapt.
Day 30: Mon and Bert's Decision
For a month, Mon and Bert focused on leveling up, killing dungeon monsters in Camarin and surrounding areas. They reached Level 15 and gained new skills.
Bert acquired Dual Dagger Mastery (+10% power with dual daggers).
Mon acquired Dual Handguns Mastery (+10% power with dual handguns).
However, they realized something important:
The goblins they were fighting barely gave them EXP anymore.
If they wanted to become stronger, they needed to enter real dungeons—which meant joining HAP.
As they stood outside their home, watching the news about new dungeon gates appearing in Fairview and Novaliches, Bert turned to Mon.
"We should join HAP, Kuya."
Mon nodded, gripping his motorcycle keys. "Yeah. It's time."
Their next destination: HAP Headquarters.
