CHAPTER 19: WITCHCRAFT?

Ruby who was squatting beside Ray with a bored expression while he was absorbing the information stood up and moved closer to the tree.

As Ruby approached, the ripe fruits fell from the tree simultaneously. She caught them with a wave and trotted back to Ray with the fruits in her hands.

Ray observed Ruby approaching him and offered the fruits she held in her hands.

Ray took the fruits from Ruby's hands and watched her with a confused expression.

She then caught the ends of his shirt while pulling him further away from the tree and started gathering energy again in her palms.

Soon the energy drilled into the ground and vines started growing out of the ground around the tree from ten different places. 

These vines were then interlinked and formed into a round container without any gaps.

They were formed into containers of Ray's height.

Then Ruby started another spell which gathered the water elements in the surroundings and filled them up to the top of the container.

She then went into the house and returned with the chocolate containers in her hand.

She swiftly crafted a basket from vines and instructed to place the fruits in it. Simultaneously, she handed the chocolate container to Ray, requesting ten chocolates while displaying ten fingers to him.

"You will not repeat the action you performed on the tree, correct?"

Ray confirmed by asking to which Ruby said no. Only then did Ray give her 10 chocolates from the container.

Ruby quickly crushed the chocolates after unwrapping them, extracted some energy from them, divided them into ten equal parts, infused them into the vine containers which were filled with water, and discarded the residue near the tree roots.

The residue was quickly absorbed by the tree, which subsequently flourished with lush green leaves.

Ray, having observed that some form of energy was being extracted from the chocolates, was now certain that the food too had acquired some kind of energy during his transportation.

Ruby then formed stairs leading to the top of the containers and asked him to get near them.

While Ray got near them, she asked him for ten hair and ten drops of blood.

Ray pulled out 10 hairs and punctured his hand to squeeze some blood and dropped one each in each container.

A vine rose from the side and started stirring the liquid which turned the liquid into red color.

Ruby then took the basket containing the elemental fruits and began placing one fruit into each vine container.

She swiftly climbed down and once again gathered the energy and then vines rose and formed a lid to cover the passage on the containers.

While Ruby is doing her work Ray who has nothing to do observes her actions and thinks "If anyone sees her now, they will surely think of her as a witch who was doing witchcraft and cooking a witch potion."

After covering the container with vines and sealing them tightly, Ruby lightly clapped her hands as a sign of completing her work.

Ray then observed that she had completed her work and approached her and asked what she was doing.

To which she responded that she was unaware, and all she had received were the instructions, which she had followed accordingly.

Through the contract, she stated that she was unaware of the usage of the fruit and therefore could not explain it to you. However, she suddenly gained enlightenment, received the instructions, and followed them accordingly.

When Ray heard that she received instructions, he started looking around his surroundings and then looked up for a few seconds and put that topic aside as he thinks the world is truly filled with wonders, as soon as they think they don't know about the topic the details appear in the native minds.

"I would have aced all my exams in my world if these services were present while I was there," Ray mumbled to himself.

What Ray had not anticipated was that it was Ruby, the only fortune tree, who desired the details; otherwise, the heavens might not have responded.

Ray thought that if she could learn such details why she couldn't learn the language through such a method and prompted Ruby to use the previous method.

Ruby closed her eyes and began to pray. After a few seconds, she furrowed her brows as a sign of concentration. Ray moved closer to the containers to observe what was happening, leaving Ruby alone.

Ray couldn't see anything as Ruby had sealed the containers tightly without any gap, but Ray could hear the water boiling in there.

Ray began to wonder if there was no fire and how come the water was boiling, Ray thought it was the third mystery he had encountered that day.

Whatever Ruby cooked in there, Ray hoped it would be delicious, he thought in a jocular tone.

While Ray was having such silly thoughts Ruby woke up and opened her eyes to see Ray standing beside the containers and sizing them up.

"Master, what are you doing," Ruby spoke.

At this, Ray stepped back and cautiously glanced in Ruby's direction.

Upon seeing the funny look on Ray's face, Ruby laughed while clutching her belly.

Ray was astonished by hearing Ruby talk, he never thought she could learn the details just by wishing.

He merely asked her to pray in a joking tone and was hoping she could fail and when she failed, he could laugh at her.

But she had proven him wrong by successfully learning to talk by praying.

Ray started feeling sour when he thought he didn't even know how the words looked and now he has to ask Ruby to teach him, or he might get into a problem for not being able to read and write.

While he was thinking about how to ask Ruby to teach him to read and write. Ruby ceased laughing, clutched her belly, and called him.

"Master, I'm feeling hungry" Ruby indicated.

Ray also started feeling hungry, so he took Ruby's hand and returned to the house.
