CHAPTER 52: MORGAN MEETS RAY

After deciding his next task, Morgan swiftly stood up from his seat and walked toward the back of his mansion, where the garden was located.

Upon entering the garden, Morgan was captivated by the stunning low-level spirit plants that now adorned the once-barren area, which previously had only a few scattered rocks.

"Misha might have planted these plants while thinking about earning the spirit stones for our family," Morgan thought.

He swiftly passed the spirit plants without disturbing them and reached the center of the garden, where a spring had formed a small natural pond with increased water flowing from it.

When Morgan designed the city's defense formation, it was entirely based on the spirit spring as the source.

He established the spirit spring as the energy source and utilized a second-level water monster beast core as the control core for the water beast formation he designed.

The formation can attack, defend, and also serve as surveillance in the city when activated.

When not activated, it will operate in a low-energy state, serving only as a primary defense for the city.

Morgan took a formation plate and made a slight adjustment. With this small change, a fist-sized monster core with the shadow of a blue fish swimming inside it slowly surfaced in the center of the pond.

He quickly grabbed it and began inspecting the core. The beast's soul within the core is transparent and becomes even fainter after removing it from the formation.

Morgan realized that the core was not suitable as the defensive control core of the formation because the soul in the monster core had almost disappeared.

So, he took another monster core from his storage bag and replaced the current one with it.

He then slowly placed it back into the pond and activated the formation.

After a long time, the monster's soul in the beast's core settled into the formation and started running along the formation in the city.

When the formation is activated, the core gradually sinks into the pond and won't reappear unless it is reactivated.

Morgan then activated the auxiliary function of the formation which will display all the cultivators in the city on the pond surface according to their strength with bright red circles.

The bigger the size of the red circles, the higher his cultivation is.

Upon activating the formation Morgan saw himself on the pond with a 2cm big red dot representing at the center of the map.

There are thousands of small dots scattered across the map on the map.

Morgan first enlarged the east side and saw that everything was alright there, and the support plates buried in the east side were working properly.

He then inspected the west and south sides, both of which were functioning properly without any damage to the formation plates.

The northern part of the formation in the city is also working properly, but he saw a glaring red dot as big as him in the villa present in the area.

Upon closer look, he saw it was not a person but a monster beast in the foundation realm.

Morgan immediately orders the formation core to zoom in on the area and show him the visuals there.

The map shown on the water surface screen was first erased and the visual from the sky started appearing on the screen.

The view slowly descended from the sky and fixed on a small villa near the market.

As he zoomed even more into the garden area, he saw a little girl sitting beside a pond and feeding the fish in the pond with spirit fruits.

The fish in the pond was only the size of a fist but it is exerting a foundation realm pressure.

Even though it is a foundation realm monster, it is playing happily with the little girl. Morgan has realized that it is a beast pet of a fellow cultivator in the villa.

Morgan closed the visuals, returned to the mansion, and summoned a servant. He requested the servant to bring the city register, which records the details of all the citizens in the city. By verifying the details in the register, he could find out information about the villa owner.

In a few minutes, the servant returned with a bundle of books. Morgan asked him to place the books on the study table and bring some fresh tea.

Morgan then sat at the table and began searching for the details in the books.

He started referring to the old books and slowly came to the last book which was recorded today.

Upon checking the book, he found the details he wanted. The book chronicled Ray's journey in the city, from his arrival to renting the villa in the northern part of the city.

Morgan put down the book after learning that Ray had arrived only three days ago and rented the villa just that morning.

He paced around the room for a few minutes, deep in thought, and then decided to visit the house where Ray was staying.

He wanted to talk to him and find out his reason for visiting the city.

With the decision made, Morgan quickly sprang into action. He changed into a new robe and left the mansion on foot.

As he walked, Morgan noticed numerous unfamiliar faces on the bustling main road, with many people entering shops to buy or sell their goods.

After observing the hustle and bustle, Morgan considered further developing the city to increase its prosperity. However, he quickly abandoned the idea when he realized the immense amount of spirit stones required to expand the cultivation market, which far exceeded the resources in his treasury.

With various thoughts running through his mind, Morgan strolled around the market and eventually arrived at the villa area, where private villas are constructed for rental purposes.

Eventually, he arrived at the villa where Ray was staying. From outside the gate, he observed Ray strolling in the front garden, watering the freshly trimmed flower plants.

After observing Ray, Morgan concluded that he seemed too young to be in the foundation realm. He must have come from a wealthy family to have achieved the foundation realm with their support.
