Victor and Callix both froze, staring at the figure in unison.
"Huh?!" they both exclaimed in disbelief.
It was Felix. His eyes gleamed with raw energy as he knelt on the ground, effortlessly blocking both Callix and Victor's attacks. His gaze was sharp, commanding, and utterly unshaken.
"What did I say earlier?" His voice was cold, edged with quiet authority.
Callix instantly withdrew his punch. Without hesitation, he dropped to one knee, bowing his head low until it touched the floor.
"I offer my sincerest apologies, Sir Strauss! My conduct was disgraceful, and I should have known better!" he declared, his voice ringing with noble deference.
Victor hesitated before pulling back his fist. Steam hissed from his body as he shrank from his massive, enhanced form back to normal.
"Ah… Sir Felix?" he asked, clearly bewildered by his sudden presence.
"Kneel, you insolent fool!" Callix snapped, his tone commanding yet composed.
Victor wavered for a moment but ultimately obeyed. With a heavy sigh, he lowered himself into a formal warrior's kneel.
"My deepest apologies, Sir Felix," he said, his voice steady and respectful.
Felix's expression softened in an instant. "Ah, no, no. Please, rise." His voice shifted to a bright, reassuring tone. "Just refrain from engaging in reckless combat without my permission or that of the other instructors."
Both Callix and Victor stood, glancing around at the ruined state of their classroom. Debris littered the floor, walls were cracked, and the very air still felt charged with the remnants of their battle.
"Ah…" Victor scratched his head sheepishly. "Sir, I could request my mother to summon my uncles to restore the classroom at once!" he offered, puffing up his chest.
"There is no need, Sir Felix. I shall rewind the damage myself!" Callix declared proudly.
Felix chuckled, shaking his head. "That won't be necessary." He clapped his hands together. At once, the broken walls and shattered floorboards seamlessly repaired themselves, the destruction fading away as if time itself had reversed.
"Our academy is constructed with nanomachine technology. No need to exhaust yourselves over something so trivial," Felix explained, his voice laced with confidence.
Then, his gaze landed on Callix, his brow slightly furrowed. "Also… why, pray tell, do you look as though you've aged into your thirties?"
Callix exhaled, running a hand over his face. A full-grown beard met his fingers.
"Alas, it is but a drawback of my abilities, Sir Felix. A minor inconvenience. I shall see to its removal posthaste." His tone remained regal, though there was a trace of frustration beneath it.
"Damnation… I failed to notice I had overextended myself," he thought, silently lamenting his unintended transformation.
"Nano machines? Master, have you ever heard of them?" Zion asked, his voice tinged with curiosity.
Zero shook his head. "No, it seems to be a relatively new form of technology."
"I see… Hey, Master, would you like to check out the system's shop later?" Zion asked.
"Sure, I suppose. We've got over 30,000 saved up, after all," Zero replied casually.
With their agreement settled, the students busied themselves, rearranging the chairs and tables to their proper places. Callix and Victor quickly entered the classroom, taking their seats despite Victor's uniform being tattered from his transformation.
Felix clapped his hands together, a bright smile on his face. "Alright! Now that everyone's here!" His voice carried an energetic authority that instantly commanded attention.
"In this academy, you will not only learn about heroism but also experience it firsthand. You will be trained to handle real-world hero situations because one day, the world will depend on you. Expect rigorous tests not the kind you're used to from your previous schools. Instead, we will challenge you with real scenarios that demand both mental and physical strength.
In the future, you will even face students from other academies in competitive trials.
And starting today, each section will be living together in a massive house think of it as a dormitory, but far grander. You'll each have your own room, but you'll be sharing a household with your fellow section members.
That's all for now. I'll be calling on you all later for your first test."
Felix's words caused an instant stir among the students.
"A test already?!"
"We just got here!"
"This is insane..."
Zion crossed his arms, turning toward Zero. "Do they usually conduct tests on the first day of school?"
Zero exhaled lightly. "It's not exactly a 'test' in the traditional sense. It's more of a physical evaluation. They need to assess everyone's physical limits before training begins."
Zion grinned. "Ah, I see. Well, I'll make sure to gatekeep my abilities then."
Before Zero could respond, a light tap landed on Zion's shoulder. He turned around to see Andrea standing behind him, her expression hesitant.
"Hm?" Zion tilted his head. "Something wrong?"
Andrea hesitated before speaking. "Um… do you know what kind of test it will be?" Her voice was soft, laced with uncertainty.
"Oh, yeah! It's a physical test," Zion answered quickly.
Andrea blinked. "Are you sure? How do you know that?"
"I happened to see a document mentioning it before," Zion said with a smirk.
Andrea's face lit up with understanding. "Wow, that's great! I'll make sure to prepare, then!" She clenched her fists in excitement.
Meanwhile, Zero observed the interaction with mild amusement. "This fool really folded in less than a second..." he thought.
Felix left the room once more, and as time passed, the students naturally fell back into their usual chatter. Some excitedly discussed the earlier battle, exchanging thoughts on techniques and strategies. Others, like Leo, simply dozed off, uninterested in the conversation. A few students took the opportunity to flaunt their abilities or boast about their privileged backgrounds.
Two hours drifted by, and by the time afternoon arrived, the atmosphere had settled into a calm hum of conversation.
Then Felix returned.
With a confident smirk tugging at his lips, he stepped inside, his gaze sweeping over the room.
"So… are you all ready?" he asked, his tone laced with amusement.
A ripple of energy passed through the students. One by one, they nodded, some more eagerly than others. The air grew thick with anticipation.
Zion clenched his fists, determination burning in his eyes. This was his chance. Time to show them what I can do.
